  1. That's cool! Finding how to enable LST has been a revelation. In some ways it makes sense that they didn't design a2g weapons to change rapidly. It's not convenient at all, but think about it like this: IRL you set up for 1 or 2 attack runs and then it's back to the tanker. So, you select your weapon, make your attack run, and haul ass out of there, because that's your only defense. If another 1 is needed, you set up again for another run, then roll in, again at high speed, and then gtfo asap. Fast jets aren't built to loiter at low speed and altitude. It sucks for the sim, but that's probably a real life thing. Just a my 2 cents.
  2. It's not the ILS knob. What else does the intercom knob turn down, though?
  3. Harrier also seems to be the only module that has all the red covers and pins and "remove before flight" stuff. Kinda sad that ED and all the 3rd party developers don't take the time to add those and chocks for their statics/cold planes. It looks funny, them not being there.
  4. It does not appear to be the TF knob
  5. Is it TF tone knob, or what is it? It's really annoying. And wouldn't you have to have something tuned to the right frequency IRL?
  6. This is exactly why I suggested empty wing tanks as a loadout option. (The A4 mod has it). Why would you have/want full wing tanks in an air start? That's ridiculous.
  7. Nobody does acronyms like the US Military. Ultimate Alphabet Soup enthusiasts. Civilian bureaucracy is pretty good too. Especially since our Federal System means there are multiple levels of Federal, State, county, municipal governments. That's why the plane has labels like it does.
  8. Thanks. I'll think about it. Might just skip the detent. IDK what module I'll get next, but no helicopters nor the A4 mod I fly sometimes even have an afterburner/detented throttle, so idk.
  9. Love that video
  10. The problem is the control window is uselessly small. Look at the A-4 control window, it's great. I just assumed it was copied from an ED module. You should use that for the F-16.
  11. Must have missed it when I RTFM'd
  12. sweet. Don't need to tms up long to select helmet sight?
  13. wait, how do I get the FCR to move with my head in ACM? I didn't see any documentation on this.
  14. I upgraded to an X56 after my beloved eXtreme 3D pro of many years was on the way out. Honestly, would have just bought the TM throttle if it wasn't ghosting rudder inputs really badly even after taking it apart, dusting it, and putting it back together. Best stick EVAR. Would have been just perfect with a 2 stage trigger. RIP. I digress. Has anyone purchased 1 of those 3d printed (I assume) detent addons for their X56 like that are available on eBay and such? If this was discussed before, I couldn't find it in a quick google search. It says the detent is at 75%. Does that line up pretty well with the click on the F-16? Other DCS aircraft I may someday buy? for $15, I suppose I could just order it and report back. Side note, is it just me, or does the AB not come on till you're somewhere past the in-game detent? Just looking at the fuel flow and graphics, it seems like the AB actually comes on around 5% later than the audible click. Sup with that? PS: the x56 seems nice. Way bigger than I thought it would be, but it prompted me to finally rearrange my room the way I wanted it. I bought a "used - good" one off Amazon and it was pretty much brand new. Maybe just an open box. Had all it's parts. Put in the stiffest spring, which isn't very stiff, and got used to it fairly quickly. Just a little deadzone and curve is needed. It seems to be made for very large hands, though. I have pretty good sized mitts (XL ski glove, L bike glove), but this is made for someone who could palm a basketball. I had a small lighter and an old mousepad. Taped the lighter and some foam from the mousepad in place. Helps a lot. Definitely made to go in a desk mount or gaming chair. I ordered some mounts off Etsy. I'd only want it velcro'd to the mount on the chair. anyhoo, TIA.
  15. I have the problem with bombs. If the release it set to 1 single or 1 pair, a button press should release 1 single or 1 pair, but if I hold pickle down a nanosecond too long, it releases again. Is this proper behavior? Fantastic waste of ordinance. Also, yesterday, I pickled rockets and it fired ALL the rockets. I haven't tried again, so maybe the button stuck. It was odd.
  16. Have you seen a plane land before irl? Watch that a few times. They always flare. Well, except carrier planes, lol. You can even feel it if you've ever been on a plane (I am aware plenty of people haven't). Next time you fly anywhere, pay attention at landing and takeoff. You can feel the steps individually: The rotation, the liftoff, the deceleration and descent. The flare before touchdown. I like landing and takeoff because it's the only time on a jetliner you really feel like you're flying. Where I live, the airport's approach is right over town, so you can watch all the planes as they come in. It's quite remarkable how they are descending and turning hard, and nose up attitude all at the same time. Have you done the training missions? Please don't be one of those people that has to be spoonfed everything in life.
  17. I use alt+ a hat switch to trim rudder to the left. Also, the HTS pod doesn't have much weight and can be useful, and it help a little. You can trim up to 6 doots for takeoff, but you have to go back down to around 3 once your airborne, so I keep it around 3 and just try to compensate on takeoff. It is hard to believe, though, that the T Pod affects it as much IRL as it does in game. It's so near the center line! TL;DR, rudder trim is your friend.
  18. If it's locked to something, it won't change modes. Make sure to select your WPN page with DMS and then unlock with TMS down once or twice. I couldn't tell you what the correct behavior is IRL, but that is the behavior in game.
  19. THIS. It's all about lining up all the symbology. Do that a few times and it's easy. The hard part for me was the runout. I like to line it up so that the Flight Path Marker is just below the 2.5 line. That gives you a nice 3 degree glide slope and matches with an ILS approach just perfectly. Flare right before you land and maybe give it some power if you're slow/heavy to really soften the landing. Then it's all about keeping the nose up and aerobraking. 13 degrees max. I seem to get away with between 10 and 13. Closer to 10. PS, about 3 doots of aft trim on final seems to help the most. Then you mostly just have to worry about left/right and power. You'll get it, it just takes practice and pretty soon you'll wonder why you had such a hard time
  20. Hm. Might have to abandon it for a minute. Just frustrating me. I'll get back to it at some point.
  21. When face tracking is recognized as TrackIR, these commands do not work:
  22. Yes! I spaced on which title. Wonder what those guys are up to now?
  23. Interesting and thank you. It is listed as TrackIR input in-game, but maybe there IS a setting in Open Track for how it outputs. Right now, there is absolutely no response whatsoever from the POV hat unless I'm in an external view. You're saying you still have POV slew with TrackIR in F1 view?
  24. So, there's just always a first set of release cuing telling me when to pull up and toss it if desired?
