Not a big deal. They have been auto-tuning voices forever. First time I realized it by myself something was fishy was with Ace of base and Cher's Do you believe the love. Quite a while back. You cant become an artist without friends in the right places to get you an agent. Sufice to hear all those amazing talents on song contests and then nobody hears about then again.

Ryzen chipset made by ASmedia !?
Pilotasso replied to BitMaster's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
the leaks concern midrange boards only and not gaming models. Relax. there is a reason why the OEM world is anticipating badly for the release. -
I had to dismantle my PC as well due to strange issues I had. DUST KILLS I will eventually replace it in 2017 tho.

Politics shouldnt be allowed to be the main drive for the companies future plans. Companies have departments with speciallists for that, who shouldnt be ovverriden by a directive that will only last as long as that administration does.

Upgrade CPU or GPU? Recommendations?
Pilotasso replied to Reverze's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Cpu is what you need, until Zen arrives AMD chips are a no-go. If you want a cheap upgrade from this manufacturer then you might want to get the middle tier Zen as they will cost under 200 bucks. -
Military and Aviation News Thread (NO DISCUSSION)
Pilotasso replied to topol-m's topic in Military and Aviation
OK, this is not April fools yet but I just got word that Portugal will have its own Space agency in 2017. :hehe: This news is related with the eventual installation of a spaceport in the Azores for ESA rocket launches. In order to do this, a local agency will be created in order to study, implement and control local launch activity and coordinate cooperation between private and state companies connected to aerospace technology thus joining the strict club of nations that have both agencies and launch bases. The Agency will be created in 2017 as work begins. Source (in portuguese). http://expresso.sapo.pt/sociedade/2016-12-04-Portugal-a-nova-nacao-espacial -

While the f-35 will replace the f-16 it won't take over its role. There are no dogfight light fighter on the drawing board any time soon, and before anyone mentions it I know dogfighting is not the only thing the falcon can do, because I'm looking at the design point of view. It's a design philosophy that no longer is the focus of the f-35. The 3 branches no longer see the necessity of a dedicated dog fighter with multirole capability as a design starting point, they want instead a long range striker.

ED has some work done for an eventual DCS F-16 for several years. The model might be part of this. We even got a few pictures on the forums. Whatever they advance for full production or not (has stopped giving news about it) we dont know.

more realistically the load will be 2 AIM9-X (with LOAL) and 4 AIM120's.

The upgrade path conundrum and DCS
Pilotasso replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Seems like AMD Zen CPU will have two 8 core variants at launch. One mainstream and the other for enthusiast. Both will be unlocked but the difference is the laters silicon will be cherry picked to overclock higher. http://wccftech.com/amd-zen-summit-ridge-overclock-cpus/ Im digging for info on Skylake X but nothing beyond the chipset designation has popped up. -

7600K reviews have been leaked ahead of the NDA expiration. http://wccftech.com/intel-kaby-lake-core-i5-7600k-review/ It can overclock to 5.1 Ghz (and that is driving the advantage on the scores), but the IPC is the same as skylake (6600K) -

I will keep my mind open. I once had an AMD system because Intel has screwed up before. They could be in the same position now. I will buy whatever chip offers more for the price. -

The upgrade path conundrum and DCS
Pilotasso replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Its not just for DCS, thats the issue. IF it was just for DCS I would get an i5. BUT if I can overclock individual cores I can accomodate any CPU for DCS (in adittion to other games). -

yeah, but we are not 1 year away from new launches, we are just 2 months away. Plus the whole DX12/vulkan thing pushing all CPU's and GPU's cannot be ignored. This is the worst possible time to do a rush buy. I build for the next 5-6 years. Not 2. I suspect AMD will be offering Zen for similar price as an 7700K (slightly higher, but lower than any Skylake-X series). 8C/16T VS 4C/8T, 64 lanes VS 24. Thats just an immense difference. Just look what they did with the RX 480. While it offers modest OK performance in DX11, for DX12 it runs circles around GTX1060's for same price and closes in on 1070's for less 200$. Thats impressive, and this is what I am aiming for. Coming back to the 7700K: Intel is charging 350$ for this chip as they did for 6700K. I'm not too impressed with its 24 lanes either. That offers too few options for expansion. Value and future proofing is poor. I only need to know: 1-price of a ZEN build VS Skylake-X VS 7700K 2-the possibility of overclocking individual cores on ZEN and Skylake-X (broadwell-E can). if both conditions are met, I can have the best of both worlds (DCS and star citizen) on a chip higher than 4 cores. Summed up, the supposedly modest jump in price from 4 cores to multi core is met with a quantum leap in processing and available bandwith headroom. -
The upgrade path conundrum and DCS

What worries me is that in 2018 the industry will move beyond the 4 core CPU's for gaming. Kaby lake will be the last high end 4 core chip. The sucessor will likely sport 6 cores for similar price tag (google coffe lake CPU). Intel already leaked the prices for 7700K and they havent budged from the 350$ price tag the previous 6700K had, not even after knowing AMD Zen will be launched at the same time. I dont play just DCS. And Im kinda wary of paying that price tag for something that will be steamrolled in short order by intel's own offers not to say nothing about AMD.
