Switch SD-10 to new scheme API used by AIM-120C
FlankerFan35 replied to uboats's topic in JF-17 Thunder
This, I'm truly sick of the SD-10 being an R-27ER until active. This feature is especially important on a low/mid performance jet like the JF. -
17F has the looks, the performance and the pedigree I think, PF is interesting but 19P is close enough if you want a *mostly* useless radar.

Look at this beautiful gun action at 1:36.

Very excited for this module, now need a nam map for this and the F4

I have to agree, my hit rate has dropped dramatically from the "In range" que stage, almost have to get into "SHOOT" for anything to happen, its weird. If this is a realistic change fine, but please at least let us know directly.

I think SD-10 should just be switched; we know how 120 api works already -
Switch SD-10 to new scheme API used by AIM-120C
FlankerFan35 replied to uboats's topic in JF-17 Thunder
I see pros and cons here; on the one hand it would be nice if the SD-10 was like the 120 in that it didn't act like a FOX-1 until active (that is to say with dropped lock it still guided to last known location of target and could reacquire by itself as 120 does and as SD-10 should). On the other hand, as many have said, the 120C has its own host of issues so I'd like clarification on if changes the scheme would have the SD-10 adopt 120 bugs/issues. I think a feature list of what would change would be helpful so we can weigh the pros/cons and vote accordingly. -

And here they say they are looking for HMD info. -

Deka already said they'd add WS-13Eif it is put on block 1/2, so HMD and PL-10 maybe :DDD. Must go for now though, gnight. -

Truly lol, i'd be happy with only WS-13E, PL-10, HMD -

Yes its quite interesting, sadly full block 3 is impossible as stated above due to building material/design changes, but we may get a new engine, HMD and PL-10 at some point. AESA would be awesome too but very low odds for that. -

early access merely means not all features are working as intended or as close to as possible, so when leaving EA its like the product is functional. Can still add anything at any point. -

The module is leaving EA but irl JF-17s are still being upgraded in ways Deka can add onto their own. -

Deka intends to add WS-13E with an enable option if it comes to the Block-1/2 fleet. And yes the RD-93 is severely underpowered lol -

JF-17C aka block 3 HMD. PL-10E, these are most likely additions to our JF-17. -

I wish we could see all this features but a block 1 cannot be fully upgraded to block 3 standards for couple reasons. Block 3 uses composites to increase strength and reduce weight of build, this allows for things like the chin hardpoint and ability to carry PL-15 on strengthened wings. That being said, there are features our JF-17 may get updated with in the future like a HMD, PL-10E HOBS, upgraded MAWS + IR MAWS (from J-10), new datalink and HUD (from J-10) and maybe WS-13E engine. Deka has stated whatever PAF does with their Block 1-2s is possible for us. Not sure about the KLJ-7A AESA as it uses more power and needs more cooling than KLJ-7 on block-1-2, though JF-17B block 2s are said to be getting upgraded with this radar. So we can in theory get a JF-17C *lite* Personally, I'd be happy with HMD, PL-10E and WS-13E. An AESA though.... -
Deka Simulations announces the DCS: J-8II for DCS World!

J-8F came around about two years before the J-10A so I'd prefer that over two J-8 variants. -

Not our J-8 model but very nice, rare J-8 footage. If anyone speaks Chinese, please tell what they are saying -
You must be stealthy with your shots, or use SD-10s.

PL-5 may be less capable than 9X/73 but its more than enough in most situations.

Sadly, JF-17 carried neither PL-7 or 8, only PL-5, AIM-9 and since recently on 17C, PL-10E.
