((From JF HMD topic)) JF-17C shares most weapons with 10CE, similar HUD, DL and such. Bigger differences would be some avionics, IRST, WS-10B, FBW and similarities with 10C at home.

CE has downgraded avionics but yes more advanced than JF. Idk if this is right topic for this discussion though. Perhaps you are right about our JF getting upgrades, Deka alr confirmed WS and PAF confirmed all JFs will go to BLK II standard and IIs already in line to receive some III features.

Hmm, I don't mean this to sound rude, but can you show proof on this, would be interesting if so. Would help with SA, probably more with SD-10 than PL-5. I do believe though that by the time we get access to all these blk III type features J-10CE may be possible. I am rather obsessed, however. Which HMD I wonder.

JF-17 doesn't have option to use PL-8. As for front MAWS, KLJ-7A, HMD and WS-13E at that point just give me a J-10CE. HMD/PL-10 would be cool, but anything more just makes me wonder why not J-10.

Without PL-10 usefulness of HMD is in negligible. I'd rather wait until possible/rumored tech transfer from blk III to blk I/II and get the Chinese HMD which is akin to JHMCS and possible PL-10E to come with it.

Thought I'd make a thread for pics/discussion since this is chinese aviation dev area. I'll start it off. Some hot J-16 images along with WS-10 closeups. Pre paint J-16. PL-10 seeker cooling nitrogen being put into J-16 wingtip pylon. J-16 with targeting pod (K/JDC03A) (top) and FLIR pylon (CHW-13/YINGS II) (bottom). And last but not least for now, a J-15D in testing.

J-10CE with Qatari Eurofighter, CE is really getting out there having also flown alongside Turkish F-16s and Saudi F-15SAs in 2023. Maybe we'll see in DCS someday, Deka plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Not to mention their mod is based on MKI/M/A/SM and this is MKK/MK2 thread. Different radars, cockpits etc.

As cool as that would be, I doubt. Personally my thoughts still lie with J-10CE.

block 1s are all supposedly being upgraded to block 2 and this new engine was for block 2 and up. Would b silly to operate a fleet with diff engine types. But who knows like you said. Yes flight model changes would happen and that might take awhile. None delivered yet, engine went through a revamp stage similar to WS-15. WS-13 is the model with thrust in 80kn ranges. 13E is uprated.

New development. Pakistan Aeronautical Complex has confirmed that the Russian RD-93 engine on JF-17 Thunder fighter jet will be replaced with Chinese WS-13 "Eagle" engine. WS-13E engine produces almost 100 kN (afterburner) thrust which is 20% more than RD-93 engine's 84 kN (afterburner) thrust. Now we heard Deka say they would do WS-13E if it ever got added, let's wait and see.

J-11B is domestic and service so unlikely.

Hmm this would mean 10AG upgrade isn't happening, at least maybe not for China.

PAF J-10s looking sexy in tactical colors, would love to see a J-10 from Deka one day. As a sidenote, some have mentioned light gray nose on JF-17 blk 1s is a sign they are being upgraded to blk 2 standard, haven't verified this however.

I wish that was the case but instead its this display with RD-93. WS-13 for now has been postponed. More likely, the in dev WS-17 or 19 for J-35 will replace 13 and be offered, we don't know final name.

JF-17 doesn't carry PL-12 irl so no, it only uses export 12 (SD-10). PL-12 option is for testing API for application to SD-10.

Closest "balanced" server we have in Tempest Cold War limiting everyone to FOX-1s although BLUFOR gets 7Ms and REDFOR 27Rs. The only real FF competitive gen 4 "Red" remains the JF. That said, Deka says they'll update out JF with whatever PAF adds onto their block 1/2s should they update the fleet with block 3 tech, this includes such things as the HMD1/2 series (JHMCS counterpart), WS-13E engine when that comes online and perhaps the PL-10E (AIM-9X counterpart). The only other possibly is Deka getting the missing info on the Su-30MKK or being allowed to do something like a J-10A once all 10As are retrofitted or a J-10B as there are only about 40 something in service. I highly doubt ED will do a FC3 style 27SM/J-11B however nice that would be and REDFOR countries like Russia/China are quite tight lipped. The more likely outcome is REDFOR getting pushed out of gen 4 and us flying more in Cold War scenarios. Will get far worse when F-15E comes fully online and Eurofighter arrives. As an almost exclusively REDFOR pilot I say, start looking at/getting into Cold War 'cause that's our future with modules like J-8, MiG-23MLA, MiG-17F on the way and pray to Deka gods daily they get access to gen 4 stuff.
