Yeah I agree, I am super happy that Ugra media is taking this on. These days that's definitely a sign of good, quality content to come. -

Rick Mave replied to Rick Mave's topic in DCS: Cold War Germany
Wags stated in the QA video that it will be a cold war map set in the 80s, which is when the Classix video is from, so I sure hope we get a load of highway runways. Ideally, we can turn them on and off in the mission editor. I am totally happy with them just being permanently prepared for use however. What I am really hoping for is that we get some core game assets that lets us actually depict a cold war Fulda Gap scenario accurately. -

According to BN, Ugra Media is working on the Germany map teased in the 2025 and beyond video, so I am very excited to get to know more. Syria has been one of my favourite maps and I am sure that you guys are going to do a great job!- 265 replies

I don't know the first thing about 3D models and what makes one viable for use in CH's asset packs. It would swamp CH with links to potentially completely useless models. If they're out there, CH knows how to find them. I don't. -

I'm certainly aware of what it takes to make these asset packs, and I am also very grateful to have people so dedicated to making DCS better, that they donate time and work for free to us in the form of mods and missions, liveries, etc. I simply think the super modern/experimental assets are less interesting, and I wish for more cold war assets or asset packs. I also think noone who's asking for stuff like that in this thread is diminishing or ignorant towards the type of effort required to create something like that for us. -

I mean we have some stuff in the vanilla assets already. Really all you'd need are a couple ground units to start out with. Iltis, Transall, Luchs, MAN Kati, Unimog, etc. For the soviets a T72 and that's it. You're done. Don't need anything else that isn't already in the game. -

I will keep wishlist posting images until we get a Cold War West Germany pack, I hope that's OK. -

Edit: Pretty please? -
Hi guys, recently got a SD XL and am looking for profiles. I am not sure I caught @salival007's latest Phantom profile or not. Is it the one from page 29 in this topic? Thanks in advance and thanks to @Bailey for all the great work you did on the export script and all that magic stuff. Really loving the versatility of the Stream Deck as a button box. Also, it almost mimics perfectly the type of interface the Eurofighter will feature, so this really is the perfect fit for an extra peripheral for me. Cheers!

Fantastic work as always, @currenthill! Is there any chance we will get a mid 80s Bundeswehr/NVA asset pack? (please say yes) -
That's AARGM, not AGM88 as far as I am informed. Of course it's all subject to change the EK software is not even in production yet.

Thank you I will check this out. And this too, thank you! I am working on a couple missions for our community that requires there not to be any modded assets present unfortunately (I don't like it either, it is what it is). I have made some very nice ones myself with M92 assets that are now part of core, so it can be spruced up very nicely, I just don't have the time to spend to make them for several different airfields, which is why I am looking to maybe adapt @Rudel_chw's great templates. I tried this several times and it reproduces the issue I described here:
-
Do you have a direct download link for the version you are using? I saw in one of your user file posts for the templates you say you need the 9.6 version of VPC but then you link to a forum post for the 9.4 version. Can you clarify? Thanks
-
Wish there was a vanilla version of these. The VPC mod seems to be out of date at this point. Correct me if I'm wrong btw. I also attempted to load the STM, remove all the assets and save it as a new miz, but everytime I attempt that, the miz saves to a file with 0 bytes, so there seems to be some issue with me trying to do that.

Splash Damage 2.0 script (make explosions better!)
Rick Mave replied to Grimm's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
@Grimm Hi, sorry if my question has already been answered somewhere here, but is it possible to disable the function which disables weapons and movements on partially damaged vehicles? I'd like to simulate a more fanatic enemy and set the retreat conditions myself in the ME. Otherwise the script works great and lots of pilots noted the increases lethality of their munitions as a very positive experience in our mission. Thanks and best regards, Rohrkrepierer o7 -
Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon
Rick Mave replied to DashTrueGrit's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
That's funny -
It's dead dead. The only EF HOTAS manufacturers that I know of at the moment are Reiser ST and Realismulator, both of which are not currently selling those at commercially reasonable prices for private hobbyists. I know Winwing's brand representative said some time ago, that once the EF releases to DCS, they would be "moving mountains" to make a Winning EF HOTAS happen, but I believe the specific person who was in that position at Winwing has since retired from the company. This was on the HOTAS subreddit community Discord server.

now that phantom is announced , next will be the typhoon?
Rick Mave replied to dave76's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
"...It is a project which will happen definitely...eventually..." Certainly doesn't inspire confidence in a 2025 release either if you ask me. -
What are you actually talking about. That's definitely not the case ^^
