cannot repoduce and missing track file Salute no longer working
SparrowLT replied to markturner1960's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
wait what? ok i will have to check that again... for what im seeing arround you need to taxi to the cat and hook with all lights off? cause im pretty sure when it happent to me i had them on including taxi light..so use L to turn all off , taxi and hook up and when the guy gives the spool up signal use L to turn them all on and thats like salute? Edit: yeap it works... taxied with all lights off.. hooked , waited until light stick things began to spin.. lights on and they launched me -
Please add the bunker busting warhead version of the GBU-24
SparrowLT replied to Harlikwin's topic in DCS Core Wish List
But then why its not working? i tried yesterday , droped 2 GBU-24s over a bunker , followed in the next pass by 2 GBU-16s, all set to delay 1 and the bunker was on fire for a few minutes but that was it.. then you can take the same bunker with 2 russian 500kg Concrete Piercing or one/two GBU-31s -
cannot repoduce and missing track file Salute no longer working

Its still happening in the Tomcat and Hornet at random For example i have a mission in Marianas with the F-18, F-14 and SU-33 of coldstart , fly to carrier, trap a few times, go to air refuel and in the way back its night time, do night trap and fly back to andersen.. after doing 3 traps at day, meeting the tanker and refueling and then night landing in the carrier i request launch, move to the cat, they hook me up, kneel, all, they then signal the spool up.. i salute ..and nothing happens..im trapped forever with the guy doing the spool up signal , my pilot is correctly saluting but nothing else happens and since in hooked up to the shuttle i cant even move to another cat or try again -

Specially in the Tomcat.. the Cat cant take the GBU-31 so its imposible to destroy ammo depots/bunkers with the GBU-24 even setting it up to delay1 or 2 and droping 2 in pairs.. they seem to be penetrating cause the depot gets on fire for a few minutes and then the fire is off and the depot is good as new.... -
remove mods 2.8 F-14 - Can't interact with F10 Radio Menu with mouse.
SparrowLT replied to TEMPEST.114's topic in General Bugs
Its still going on In MP if i spawn in the carrier in a normal ramp position the coms menu work but i cant hear the crew voice (they still do whats asked but i can only read it) But if the plane spawns in the cat hot the coms menu is broken and doesnt work with mouse.. i have to use the F keys manually in order to rearm and salute.. In the same servers both my other 2 naval jets the Hornet and the SU-33 work fine (granted the 33 is a FC3 jet but the Hornet is full fidelity and works fine) -
To be fair since this post i did experiments and was doing nearly 12G clean with wings not breaking up... then renembered when they broke i think i had external stores under the wings.. cant renember if drop tanks but it would explain it.. pulling even 9Gs with the external tanks hanging from the wings should be fatal

Just had the same issue in a MP server.. Did a long-ish mission with A-10A (90m) in snowy caucasus.. RTB and landed with no issues.. when i stop the plane i had no nose wheel steering ... tried switching on and off electronics with no luck

Concerns about G-Onset and Damage to wings
SparrowLT replied to ElvisDaKang's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have had several times the wings break off just flying past a bandit in close merges .. like if the wake of the other jet would be what breaks them -
Also they would miss sideways even by pure chance when making runs in other directions unless wind is perfectly constant.. and the allways seem to align correctly with the target..only falling short Speaking of the Hornet GPS bug i will try in the same servers doing a bombing run with the Hornet and pos set to GPS to see if it also falls short, maybe with the Tomcat as well once i learn how to CCIP on it..just to compare them to the russian jets, .if the results are the same it would discard the FC3 module

The thing is i tried doing a mission in the editor using all russian made planes and i could hit the spot in both modes regularly with not much problem.. yet in MP it seems to fall short 90% of the time.. however in MP if i aproach the target at arround 800kmh leveled at about 300-500m above target it seems to hit much better than in any dive.. Its a simular issue (but dont think related) to the infamous Hornet error when not using GPS for pos.. only that issue applies too to offline.

Here i took some screenshots from online just now.. here you can see how the bombs impacted short of the bunkers.. in all cases i was doing the run perfectly aligned with the bunkers and the piper in both modes was at the other end of the bunkers (so the bombs missed the impact point by 2 bunker lengths at least) Server ping was good.. about 30s

Well.. the CCIP and CCRP modes on both MIG-29 and SU-27 variants is easy to use and understand.. but im finding they are quite imprecise.. if i attack on a dive in CCIP of lets say 20º or more they seem to allways fall like at least 100 feet short. CCRP does the same.. piper is right on target, speed is stable and it releases automatically but fall short (as far as i can see they allways fall short.. never overshot) However trying stuff found that attacking from 1000m or so in level flight they seem to be precise.. but shouldnt the computer calculate for the angle/speed factors when it computes the piper or calculates the release automatic point? As fas as i tried this issue doesnt seem to be a problem on the SU-25 variants oddly (even the T wich uses same system) Edit: just ran several tries with mission editor and seems to be an online thing.. offline bombs seem quite accurate in both CCIP/CCRP modes but online they seem to fall short by over 100f

Thanks! I was about to give up as every time getting air superiority was easy but then had to watch helplessly as the Carrier group intercepted everything they threw at them and mission wouldnt complete. Did just as you said..ordered SEAD to proceed as soon as they call on station and then as soon as they report radar down (wich is not true btw) ordered main strike to proceed. Didnt look good as they were still shoting down about all the missiles but finally enought came throught and sank the carrier.

What about wings sometimes breaking off even at 9Gs when the jet is capable of enduring over 12?.. Even when no having bags under the wings.. and specially at high speeds.. i have dived to the ground many times to defend an incoming fox3 and when leveling on the ground the wings just snap off with not that big of a pull
