After getting the fiber cable. I recently discover that instead of spining the Pimax. Just use your hand to block the lighthouse, after that the headset will track immediately. Maybe this method only works with fiber cable.

I think offical Pimax retail price for the optic cable is $99 USD. Here in Australia the mark up 30%-50%, Even $A190 is a bit steep. I agree with you, no way that I am going to pay $150 Euro for the cable. That is around half of the price for Pico4 I am pretty sure in your case, it is the cable... spining headset several times a day not good for metal fatique. Dont bin it. One day, someone will list a used cable on ebay for very cheap.

Always good to hear story with happy ending. 2080TI is a decent middle end GPU. I am still amazed . With HP G2 VR, that it is running very smoothly without stuttering in my father computer civilian SIM MSFS.

As owner of 8kx/Pico4/G2 .. I share the same experiences for 8kx.. When it works, nothing can beat it in term of immersion with 160 FOV. I did have smilar problem as yours.. I had to spin headset dozen times and several minutes for it to trackked. It got worse and screen flickered every few minutes. Eventually it became unplayable. I was ready to bin it.. then I read some reddit users mentioned, it might due to cable. With Amazon 30 days return policy.. I have nothing to loose, so I bough the Pimax 5m fiber cable for $190 Aussie dollars. Since then it is the become my favourite headset, it track almost immediately. With the improvement DCS MT with quadview. I am so happy with 8kx, I don't think I going to upgrade anytime soon. will only thinking buying another when it dies of natural cause. Why not get Pimax Fiber optic cable from Amazon. You can return the cable within 30 days if thing does not work out

Can easily fly formation, air refueling, fairly decent BFM. But have not learn BVR or A/G. For someone fairly new to DCS and having own all modules.. It would not be possible to master complexity of radar system to be proficient in BVR for all the modules. For me Case III recovery in F14 is by far the most difficult to master, several times harder than Air refueling/fly formation.

I done BFM quite often in F14.. It has been a while since flying other aircraft. In Tomcat F14b.. I have not problem against Ace Mig21/Mig29/F18/F16, with label off and no droping landing flap. Although due to lack of gunnery skill.. most of my wins Ai crashed running out of fuel.

Similar specs to Tomcat388th 6900xt/ 5800X3D with pico 4. Also happy with DCS, For me, I don't think spending $3000 AUD on 4090 will improve much. For that money, i would save for next generation headset or even get build one DIY or getting Rhino FFB joystick

For me smoothtrack is pretty decent if you have android phone. One thing I like about smoothtrack is fairly quick easy to setup and it works pretty well without light.

Yes, I purchased using pico app installed on my android phone or directly on Pico4 headset. I tend to purchased more games directly on Pico4 headset, lot quicker to take advantage when there is a sale on.

I bought Pico 4 more than a year ago.. No problem registered my own address here in Australia. Have no problem purchased Virtual Desktop as well as dozen games from Pico store.. Great all round headset.

Car seat... very neat idea.. with ability to adjust up/down as well front/back... never thought of that, much better than gaming seats

Regrettably ED updates broke JF-17 I prefer yours mission over most of official ones. More thorough and get to the point quickly. Although ED F18c train missions are excellent.

Are you using PimaxXR? If you do, going to PimaxXR control and choose either PimaxXR or SteamVr. In my case, the problem were due to update 2.9 that reset PimaxXR to blank hence DCS won't load. If you do not have PimaxXR installed and only using steamvr. Got to setting in Steamvr and make sure the Openxr default running time is steamvr. For 8Kx, for multi-thread. just run DCSbeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe (no need to include any quote)

Just did a test 10 min ago. HP G2 / AMD 5800X3D/ AMD 6900XT OC 1v1 BFM F14 vs F16AI over Persian Gulf Quadview enable - 62 fps Normal - 55 fps Improvement 7fps may not be alot but in my case push me over 60Hz. It is substantitial for HPG2 setting at 60Hz

As owner of both Pico 4 and Pimax 8kx. For me VDXR improvement for pico 4 even more than PimaxXR for 8kx. Particularly in the racing sim. Mbucchia the great has done it again.!

I remember getting unstable and black mask when moving head. My thought that due to frame rate go up and down i.e moving between 30-50 fps. then I use OXR toolkits to locked at 36fps so that SSW be kicked on. It certainly help to reduce artifact/black mark. Lately I no longer need to locked at 36fps.. this due to I manage to get it stable without locked the frame rate. By going DCS options and adjust setting to get 36fps-40fps. If you get frame rate somewhere north of 36fps.. then Virtual desktop SSW reprojection will automatically kick on.

My Pico4 on AMD 6900Xt, streaming with Virtual desktop. I also able to get 72fps (or locked 36fps ASW/Motion Reprojection) which is smoother than my other headset G2 or Pimax 8kx Your AMD 6800Xt, you should able to run on at least Virtual Desktop Ultra mode (may be Godlike) and get 72fps or (36 AWS reprojection). You will find Pico4 be lot smoother stutter free compare to your HP G1.

As owner of Pico4 and Pimax 8Kx.. very happy with the pico4. Next headset likely to be Pico5 Pro Max over the Pimax crystal. Pico5 Pro Max has higher resolution 3840x3840 with DP port, smaller/lighter way more comfortable than Pimax.
