According to the 29A manual, the detection and lockon ranges are in fact practically identical in look up and look down situations. This really suprised me, as i have too heard and assumed that the aircraft had a "theoretical" look down/shoot down capability.. Apparently the biggest factor is the aspect of the contact rather than it's altitude. Also it seems that the radar will start jamming itself when flying below 3000m, depending on the surface.

The 9-12 (29A) and 9-13S (29S) both have identical powerplants, though i remember reading somewhere that the some airforces downgraded the engines to give them a longer service life. The main structural diffrence between the two is the hump on the back, which allows the 9-13S to carry internal ECM system, and 220kg of more fuel. Also the max angle of attack was increased to 28 from 26, but technically the 9-12 could do just the same.

The radar in the S version has at least some upgraded ECCM capabilities. I would suspect that this would mean better downlook capabilities, but that's really just my guess.

The time that we tried a mission on the old 504th server with rather realistic distances between airbases and targets, we recieved a comment "whoever made this mission is an idiot"..:) Well, i sure hope the engine will be somehow changed to allow for bigger world.. More countries around=more possible scenarios for campaigns :)

A website with a "donate" button could do. If people would like to do some more than press the "rep inbound" button, which in case of modders cannot be pressed frequently enough, they could send in few $$$ if they want to support the mod somehow..

Or even better, what about books on how the diffrent aircraft are deployed in combat? :)

1) Make recovery available on the host mission, then once the host's aircraft bites the mud, just hit "ESC" and recover. 2) The "big bang" bug was fixed at some point, the players still spawn on the same place on the carrier, but they don't explode anymore.. 3) Yes, clients cannot see the refueling hose before connecting to it. However, it is doable, clients will just need to follow the HUD cues..

I thought of the same.. but would that cause the arm of the pilot beeing blown away if someone accidentally opened the canopy midflight? :D "It costs an arm to open the canopy.." :D

Yes. And blinking ECM is just as same as LOPEing your aircraft to carry AIM-54 or whatever missile you prefer the most.
