  1. Great, I worked with this and it worked out well. Also adjusting the height and width from one pic to the next before inserting into 3ds. At the end of the day I cant seem to find any great blueprints with ribs and formers or helpers. Ill have to keep diging. 63
  2. Sith thanks a lot. Looks like ill start over again but a valuable lesson is learned. When making these pics can you tell me how I make them all the same size. 63
  3. OK, Well I took the one page that had all sides and formers and ribs on it. I put that into photoshop and created single pics of the front, side and top and exported to desktop then 3ds. I then entered the entire page into 3ds after making it too a bitmap file and they don't lign up. That's why I was thinking the width and height were off cause each pic is different. Or is this a case of find a different pic and start all over again. 63
  4. Hey guys I need a hand here. Im going through the amazing tutorial by CrackinCGI and im stumped here. Ive loaded my images and in the bottom right hand corner you can see Ive created the Helpers or Formers for the fuselage. Now When I carry them to the Fuse they don't add up! This is my problem. Now I thought the width and height of the different reference pages was the issue but in his tutorial it doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas and thanks for your time and help. 63
  5. T, After having a quick look to be sure in my DCS WORLD A-10C module my canon is still whipping out 30mm like no ones business! With that said I do not know what could be your issue. Perhaps computer performance related. Good luck 63
  6. Well learned a great deal today. That demo is intense. Well paced and fairly accurate. I hit a snag creating my first rib but Im bashing on. 63
  7. Thanks guys, Druid... You really blew me out of the water there! LOL. (feel shame) BACK TO WORK!
  8. Got the chair done. I cant find out how to add edges so that I can add more detail to the chair like bends. Once I add the edges I know what to do I am just missing that step. Any help would be great. 63
  9. Lets start off with a chair and after maybe a table and Ill take it from there! 63
  10. Thanks a lot guys. I knew I took a big chunk right off the bat but I am working simple on the side. Ill do just that. Best 63
  11. Hey guys, This is crazy! Great work Brun. Ive acquired 3DS max this past week and find the tutorials a little weak. I can understand where my tools are but let be clear. I want to make aircraft. I find my 3 view and I know how to apply them to my viewports. I can create my box and match them to the diameters of the real aircraft and that's as far as I can get. My box as it overlaps the aircraft in viewports is never the size of the 3 view. And I can not figure out how to centre the device ( I don't know what its called) it has three arrows in a triangle type formation of different colours yellow blue and red I think or green. If there is anyone who wouldn't mind assisting me that would be great! Cheers and keep up this great work. After what I learned this past week you are all true artists! Best. 63
  12. Countermeasures may not work but I am fairly successful shaking off a missile. What I mean is shaking left to right a few times and sometimes I just don't get hit. In other cases I can hear the missile streak right by me! And then other times my cockpit lights up with sounds and others well.... I die. On another note I am confident getting information on how this actually works is next to impossible. What I mean is acquiring information on past tests on the success or failure of tests with jammers and certain missile systems and how to defeat them or if they were even defeated! FYI 63
  13. VJS, I am not sure if it has an effect in the simulation. However I always make a practice of doing it moments before weapon release as I seem to develop tunnel vision and really ignore my surroundings. The practice is sound in RL. Look at super cobras alone once they pop. Just a crazy cocktail at times before weapons release and on egress. FYI 63
  14. Realistically these missions would be intelligence driven or a type 3 control where a said area would be investigated and prosecuted with direction. At the end of the day Hawg pilots can have binos and your sitting in a titanium bath tub. Get low, get slow and look for whats sticks out and moves. I always fly around in a lazy W looking left and right so your always banking ready to dive for speed and evade. Know where your outs are at all times. My 2 cents. 63
  15. I can not accept that the A-10 pilot would lie or that they would apply the repair tape for the hell of it. 63
  16. Wild bill. Your right. Ed should model the rover systems on the market today. This would allow users to avoid a real world talk on and have the jtac see what the aircraft sees. The jtac would have to make sure his rover is on the correct frequency the aircraft is pushing if he had multiple aircraft in the sky. I really hope they continue to develop jtac in this game. 63
  17. I wouldn't go calling infantry Silly. Pilots are so occupied flying and working their systems that it is difficult and near impossible to acquire infantry. In preplanned missions this is made easier because usually infantry man a fortified postion etc. In OEF and OIF scenarios the ground forces may only see the enemy once they are engaged. Only then can the JTAC request then direct CAS to the tgt. Meanwhile that silly infantry is killing your boots on the ground. While the Russians were in Afghanistan infantry found out if they don't move they wont be seen by the hinds and MIs. They stood there with RPGs and had success shooting these aircraft down. And last, there are numerous videos of gun runs, GBU-12, hellfire strikes and once the smoke clears (cue the Benny HIll theme song) This infantry is on the move. Sure some of these guys go bleed out somewhere but some go to live another day. FYI 63
  18. The pods are roughly the same. The resolution is slightly better than litening. The big difference from here on in will be the software upgrades to both that will separate them. 63
  19. I dig it. Worse case scenario they say no or add it to the pile of things to do! I applaud you guys bringing the details forward. I would have never guessed. Good luck and I for one am totally on board with this. 63
  20. 1. I have not had issues with distance and smoke on the deck. I have fired smoke in many kilometers. 2. Laser does not need to be on. When you say procedure do you mean actual RL procedure or the button pushes in game. a. Procedure in game. Press B for BINO view and then select your smoke colour as seen in the top right screen. b. RL smoke can happen many ways. In the 9 line you would indicate in line 7 for type of mark. Describe smoke and colour. 3. unknown. 4. unknow. ill let someone else with greater knowledge tackle those for you. Peace 63
  21. The Canadian CH-146 Griffon (although not a Huey but a upgrade less engine) was equipped with both door firing mini guns. I would love to see this added to the gunners seats as it was for Afghanistan. It would be nice to have that option. 63
  22. I would really dig AIR BURST MK80 series bombs. Just cause they exist and would be great against dismounted troops. 63
  23. I like the helmet fire this would cause pilots with the JTAC yelling for effects while other in the air stack trying to deconflict airspace and not run into each other. Im all for radio with the jtac 63
  24. FYI, If a downed pilot or any other service member begins doing remotely the job of a JTAC its called ECAS (emergency close air support). Essentially the pilot PULLS all the info they need from you to find you! tgts and they will inform the ground force on how to commence tgt procecution. 63
  25. Sweet Thanks, I thought I was doing something wrong. It is the end of the fiscal year however and maybe they are just getting rid of their lot of ammo for this year. 63
