Yes, you can add DCS to non-steam games but steam will not push the updates. You can in the steam options for each title to select how you want updates handled on steam titles, not non-steam titles. Yes, v2.1 is a "demo" but still requires a v2.1 install instead of using v2.0. We shall see once it is available to non-backers

I would do the same. 1.) DCS is the only "entertainment" software I have that is standalone. 2.) Consistent download speeds from Steam 3.) No more dance with "You have X Activations left" when doing clean installs if using Steam 4.) The optional Steam Overlay, Friend's List, Chat System, is great for multiplayer environment. I had the Flanker series, Lock-on series, Flaming Cliffs, and was excited to stay with Eagle as a standalone because of the vision of "DCS World". But "World" has turned into "Universe". DCSW 2.1 for Normandy Backers I am stuck with the standalone because I gave Eagle Dynamics a chance but, all purchases have been stopped until this "early access, open alpha, open beta, Steam versions, standalone versions, Universe" gets back to being a World. In my opinion, it should be on DCS Front Page at Steam Store , not just a module.

Guys, Look at his "GPU2" is at 300mhz, "MEM2" it is at 150mhz. As well as he is running 12x anti-aliasing and super-sampling. On cards that have 2gb of vram. Sith's GTX780Ti that has 3gb of vram is running 2915mb in his screen( I do not know his resolution or Raptors) but, I doubt Sith is running 12x AA. Hope you guys get it worked out. Cheers, Monnie

Hello Everyone, What would I put in the autoexec.cfg to use the connection I have for my server? My understanding the values are for bytes per second in the autoexec.cfg? My connection is : Download =15714 kilobytes per second, does this mean 15714000 bytes per second? Upload = 3018 kilobytes per second, does this mean 3018000 bytes per second? So what should I put make the upload and download(the autoexec.cfg entry) the same as my connection's upload? My current setting in autoexec.cfg is: net.download_speed = 26214400 net.upload_speed = 26214400 Thank you, Monnie

Hello Everyone, For me, with A-10C, I hear the sounds very nicely from external to internal. Nicely balanced. Volume 50% GUI 100% World 100% In-Cockpit 100% Helmet 100% Music 0% The problem I have is, the Huey UH-1H module is twice as loud as the A-10C module. So this requires stopping everything and adjusting the "Volume"(main output) to 23%. Thank you, Monnie

Gentlemen, Make sure Windows 10 is not setting your dpi to anything other than 100% Right click desktop--->Display settings Where it says "Change the size of text, apps, and other items:" Must say 100% there Even if the slider is all the way to the left, it can still read "custom" Move it to the right then back to the left until you see "100%" Windows 10 tried to set mine to 200% numerous times because of my 2160p monitor (3840x2160) thinking it needed to make things larger Monnie

Hello Everyone, The performance is outstanding in 1.5 :thumbup: The sense of speed / movement has really improved. :pilotfly: Update process from 1.2.16 to 1.5 was flawless. I have since installed a clean install (fresh start) instead of a 1.2.16 to 1.5 update. Trees seem to have a little "pop-up" effect even set on 15000, visibility at ultra. The haze / fog is a little too much for me. The color temperature is on the cool side. Summer at noon, those fields are glowing as if they used fertilizer from Chernobyl. :D Eagle Dynamics, Third Party Developers, Staff and Testers, you have done a great job. Take a breather, some good meals, time with family then, come back to fine tune this wonderful update. Thank you, Monnie

Belsimtek, Could we please have an IR Pointer / illuminator added to the door M134 miniguns & M60 for night designation? Please make this pointer / illuminator visible to multiplayer clients that have their NVG's activated This would be great for target coordination between clients. B.E. Meyers supplied most of the pointers / illuminators for them. IZLID 200P and IZLID 1000P Please make the IR Anti-Collision lights(NVG Position Lights) visible to all clients wearing activated NVG's. Pilots could then turn off visible wavelength lighting thus only using IR. You have the switch in the cockpit, you have the lights on the airframe model, just needs to be seen by client NVG gear. Hello Everyone, I concur with others that have come to the conclusion that the defect, repeatable, is related to distance. :thumbup: I made a demo to illustrate what is happening. As you zoom out to a certain distance ( roughly 8000 feet) the LOD that replaces the close shader takes over and corrupts the close LOD. Once this happens, it goes from a nice puffy plume into some unregulated factory plume. What are they burning in there? :music_whistling: Notice, the second smoke plume that never reaches that distance has not been affected.:huh: The defect has nothing to do with time, settings, graphics drivers, nor mods, as you can fly around the smoke plume for hours. The defect is related to distance. :smartass: I have not found a way to get back to the first shader once the transformation has occurred.:doh: Hopefully this will help the ED team to solve the defect. :helpsmilie: Thank you, Monnie
