CPU runs +20° hotter in idle after update to 2.9.16.10523.
TheBiggerBass replied to Dmsea1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I guess the issue is not just plain CPU load. I checked with other higher CPU load (most of the 32 cores >50%) applications and they run as cool as usual without driving the fans to a heart attack. I also wonder why the fans go crazy when DCS is just showing the main menu without any action, just waiting for user input. Makes no sense to me. -
Habe gerade diese Karte auf einem georgischen Server entdeckt. Könnte vielleicht interessant für die Erstellung realitätsnaher CW Szenarien sein: https://gfsis.org.ge/maps/russian-military-forces

Store custom cockpit views to snap views 0-9
TheBiggerBass replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
I also found this explanation, which helped me to understand: https://www.airgoons.com/w/DCS_Reference/Snap_Views I am now able to setup snap views and select them. Learned something today. Thanks ! -
Store custom cockpit views to snap views 0-9

Thanks. With that information I guess I did't fully understand the view selection concept in DCS yet and need to go back to the basics. Is there any manual or tutorial for the view concept? -

I hope the DCS team is currently working on a fix. I am concerned to overheat my system running DCS for longer than a few minutes atm. -
Store custom cockpit views to snap views 0-9
TheBiggerBass replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
I'm sorry, but it doesn't work. LWin + Num[0-9] shows the other camera position only as as long as the Num[0-9] key is pressed. After release the camera always returns to normal cockpit camera view. -
Store custom cockpit views to snap views 0-9
TheBiggerBass replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
Ok, RALT + KP0 = Saves my current eyepoint position but how to determine which snap view position (0-9) to assign the current view to? May be I have the wrong approach. All I want to achieve is to setup some preconfigured camera positions which I can quickly access by a button click. Like one camera position for left MFD, one for right MFD, one for right console, for left console, for center cockpit view ect. -
Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill

Go to Saved Games\DCS and delete all files in the fxo and metashaders2 folder. -
I tried it with CW Germany map and had CTDs too.

Is there any way to store current cockpit view to a certain snap view 0-9 ? I would like to customize snap views 0-9 for my preferred view angles to certain cockpit areas or fixed views out of the cockpit I found SnapViews.lua under Saved Games/config/view where all views are stored. But setting - checking - readjusting them manually a for several positions in different aircrafts takes way too much time. I am looking for a way to store the current view position to a certain snap view within running DCS.

Ok, understand. I started with DCS in Nov last year. At that time more training missions would have been most helpful to me, especially for basic flying, take off, landing and handling. I guess more of them, with skipable explanations, generated by experienced users could be done much quicker than QAG.
-
Hmm - atm I don't see anything provided by QAG what the normal mission editor can't do too as easy and fast as QAG. So why spend precious development time for QAG feature ?

In this case I'm surpised why the cache isn't wiped by default with every DCS core update. -

TheBiggerBass replied to Dmsea1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
It's not an AMD only issue. Got the same after updating to 2.9.16.10523 running on an i9-14900K. However, I suggest to look for GPU load 1st. The CPU does not show more load, but the GPU load has drastically increased (from <5% to approx. 40% in idle on my system). -

Aren't these updated automatically? -

AN/AAQ-33 Advanced Targeting Pod Discussion
TheBiggerBass replied to Kayos's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
That would be a shame. I really like to fly the agile Viper with it's pillar-free cockpit. It's like driving a convertible on a summers day -
AN/AAQ-33 Advanced Targeting Pod Discussion
TheBiggerBass replied to Kayos's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
While reading all this ... are we talking abaout the AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN pod mentioned in the manuals but not available on the weapons page in mission editor? Is there a target release date? -
As DCS also allows to use modifiers for axes you might bind the brake with a modifier to an axis. If you use the STEM with S-TECS there is a hidden axis under the white 3-way switch on the left. It can be assigned to an axis as JOY_RZ.

Next question: when is "V1.0" release?
-
100% agree. Much more training lessons would be helpful for a bloody rookie like me who never flew any aircraft as a pilot. It would also be helpful to have a repeat function (or at least skipable steps) in case you want to repeat difficult trainings over and over.

I know the "Wags" videos. It's a great ressource. However I have a hard time hovering this beast slowly and controlled at low altitudes <10ft and low speed <5kts or flying precisely through a ground parcour. Without constant monitoring and cyclic corrections It tries to escape quite quickly and build up catastrophic speed vectors, even using AT or AL force trim. I guess I'm not used to helicopter flight dynamics yet. Landing buttery and smooth on a tiny spot is what I am currently training. Atm it seems to me AT force trim is the only way for precise hoover and point landing.
