  1. If you would take some pictures of the event can you make me a picture of that “Messerschmitt Bf 109” or give me a link maybe? PS. My car is a bit old together with the high fuel prices to make the trip :D .
  2. With a monster system like yours it is almost a crime to NOT use AA/AF (especially with screenies :D ). Do you understand where you can enable it? Do you know what Antialiasing (AA) settings and anisotropic filtering (AF) is about? Anyway, nice shots… Preferred settings: 2xAA, 4xAF in 1600x1200 (it will not hurt much your FPS). For your system I would use rather 4xAA, 8xAF (For screenies put them even on 8xAA and 16xAF)
  3. As a result the su-35 monster can carry 12 R77’s (RVV-AE) :gun_smilie:
  4. Happy Birthday Pilotasso :D
  5. Pilotasso will absolutely have a hard one after seeing this one…:D
  6. Indeed Sukoi Porn… :D
  7. It would not be a pretty sight having a fireball 2nm before impact on the target (anyway it would scare the hell out of the bandit :D ).
  8. I mean using AESA radar for guidance . The PLAAF already received about 200 R77’s in 2002. It is a wonderful missile which had only one shortage: The missile’s speed was limited to Mach 3 due to excessive nose-cone heating. (Problem is possible already corrected which give the R77 back the initial Mach4 speed)
  9. @Pilotasso, The AA-12/R-77 which is obsolete in your opinion and which already is deployed on India's SU-30MKIs and even the MiG-21 BiS aircraft that caused US aircraft so much trouble at COPE India 2004 & 2005. The mig-21 (40 year old crap?) :D @all, No political intentions but anyway note: EU: Status of Meteor (ramjet) AESA setup: All tests successfully finished and ready for production (ef2k ready for tranche 3 upgrade) US: Status of 120C linking AESA: Ok . Status of 120D linking AESA: Ooh boy…(2008?) Status 120? ramjet version: Euuhh? Still under development/testing? RU: Status of R77M: ramjet version: still under development/testing Status AESA linking older R77: Ok . BTW: "The 'cobra' maneuver... where the Flanker pitchers [vertically] to over 100 degrees is not a stunt, it is a missile launch maneuver for a over-the-shoulder launch on a passing head-on target by an IMFIL missile, as briefed to me by the Director of TsAGI. German Zagainov."
  10. But I think you don’t need a 30G resistant mfd at home or do you :D
  11. Chavez is just protecting his oil-reserves. I think we all know who is threatening these reserves.:D
  12. I don’t know in what age you still live but anyway Barco is a company from Belgium and they do MFD’s for Russia too :P . (Some time ago a major contract was signed to deliver their mfd technology for Russian jets ;) ) http://www.airforce-technology.com/contractors/cockpit/barco/barco2.html BTW, Barco has been contracted to provide advanced avionics technology for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Panoramic Cockpit Display (PCD). Of course it will be reliable components ;) http://www.barco.com/aerospace/en/references/references.asp?ref=3209
  13. I thought the Mac battle was lost already 5 years ago. They have nice looking quad-systems too but can you fly with it? :D About the aim-7: I think the problem is that the sparrow aim-7 still is lockon beta 1.02 version. The behavior of ER/EM/ET/R-77/aim-120, r73/9m were corrected after each patch: even after 1.11 ->1.12a
  14. Basically what you are saying is that only components on the F-35 are very very very reliable and all the others are not reliable (let say others works like shit)? And what is your problem with Russian planes? BTW, Russian jet engines have not the low stall speed problem of western engines.
  15. I think we will keep the remaining 90 and have 30 for sale (maybe already sold, I don’t know) Anyway the engine stall problems were something from the past and after the last engine upgrade it is going a lot better…;)
  16. Here you got a link: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=22993 Problem solved! :D
  17. Do you understand what we are talking about? It is a Su-35 with AESA and with French avionics. (Even the eurofighter have to fear this stuff) I just don’t understand why they need this kind of air superiority jet in that peaceful region. About the 8000 hours (wait and see before you got 8000 hours) How many of these 1 engine jets will crash in the first 5 year? (I am talking about your F-16) There is a reason why all new jets are twin engines (except that eeeuh FAG-35 indeed) I think we in Belgium have lost already +30 of the F-16's (how about that?)
  18. Maybe it will be more realistic if you could add the Black Sharks in the proposed “capture the base” mission exercise. BTW, do you remember the Falklands war?
  19. Even with an ET launch with minizap (default settings) I got only 39km BTW, ET has about 154kg propellant mass
  20. I have a new idea for a Red flag exercise: “Capture and hold/defend a certain marked airbase.” Rule: you need to hold 1 plane of your team on the tarmac on the airfield while other teammates defend it. Rather the time of occupation counts for a victory and less the scored air kills. Action guaranteed anyway!
  21. Also on the f16.net people were talking about the F-15C not having a chance against their all mighty F-16 in dogfight.:D What would happen if you post an F-22 thread on that forum?:D
  22. He said indeed “A non AESA, non Meteor equiped Typhoon is obsolete” I have also to agree with him that today a non AESA becomes obsolete. Thus it was about time to get CAESAR active electronically scanned array (AESA) upgrade on the typhoon (called also CAPTOR-E). ;) Meteor will zap his F-16C at 100km anyway (sidewinders will be not a problem ) Italian F-16’s have already proven to be obsolete if the typhoon was playing with them in that same airspace without AESA and even with the older CAPTOR radar.
  23. The Euroradar CAESAR active electronically scanned array (AESA) variant of the successful CAPTOR radar system has successfully completed a flight test programme in the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. The flights were conducted by EADS from the Manching facility in Germany. http://www.eurofighter.com/news/20070510CAESAR.asp http://www.airpower.at/news06/0922_captor-e/index.html Anyway it was about time! ;)
  24. Please leave this guy alone (I am talking about GG): You really can’t discuss with these guys (Let us call them the blue fanboys) because: 1) They will claim that your source is not correct over and over 2) They will never came up here with some real material/proof/charts or whatever Being in the same blue camp it is unbelievable that people can be so naive. Let me explain how GG his mind is working: In his little world he thinks that Mig’s do suck and only an amraam sensor technology is working… He even did say that on this ru forum with the exact words: “Migs do suck” They have the same idea about European technology (in his mind mirages, eurofighters etc. sucks too).
  25. Not sure about the A and the G model but anyway see here modifications for the S: Fulcrum C: MiG-29S (Variant 5/8/9) (9-13S) The external weapons load was increased from 3000 kg to 4000 kg and the maximum AOA was increased to 28°. As the most important improvements these jets got a new radar, the N 019 m "Topaz", which had better resistance against jamming than the predecessor model. In addition for the first time two targets could be attacked simultaneously by the use of the active R 77 missile . The MiG 29 S was equipped with new improved IRSTS and better testing capabilities for the radar. Additionally it can carry the infrared R 27 T as well as the R 27ER and ET with a larger motor. Source: www.fabulousfulcrums.de Conclusion: the S is different from the older A model like the F-16A was different compared with the F-16C.
