  1. It is kind of funny like you describe the AI’s tactic. He is not scaring you but he is just trying to push you into defensive. The Su is launching the ER’s sooner because they have a longer range and more importantly because he needs to keep lock until impact while staying as long as possible away of your fire and forget AMRAAMs. I never tried something else except than “Excellent AI” thus I can’t compare them. The problem with the AI is that once you find a technique it works time after time (AI doesn’t learn from his mistakes). Anyway since 1.12a the F-15C AI is chaffing more effectively and it is harder to make kills with SAR missiles. PS. AI is almost no challenge with 1 vs 1 in BVR (you need 1 vs 2+ to have fun).
  2. Looks like the 50% increased range of the 120D was versus the 120A/B (30/45 miles for the 120A/B vs 65 miles for the 120C/D) BTW, In contrast with conventional missiles (like 120C/D) capable of maximum Mach 4, ramjet missile gives it sustained Mach 4 speed in order to chase and destroy targets even at the outer edges of the missile's range.
  3. Except if they want to replace it with a 7900GTX or something like that I don’t see a reason why people would sell a GT or Ultra. I would suggest buying the new GS version which is a new AGP version with very good specs. BTW, I have lifelong warranty on my 6800Ultra (check temperature in my fx-55 sig)
  4. Ooh yeah me too, since I have GPS in my car I can do twice the distance with the same amount of fuel. I don’t buy it if it is not ram-jet technology!
  5. Sorry if this argument was already covered in the huge thread (this night I don’t have time to read all of it). In my opinion you can’t compare the 15 with the 25T. F-15C: Wing span: 13.05 m Wing area: 56.5 m2 Su-25T: Wing span: 14.52 m Wing area: 30.1 m2 Conclusion: the F-15 almost doubles the wing area (56.5 vs 30.1) Considering that during the landing (2 wheels down, nose wheel up) the wing area operate like a huge air-break which is almost 2 times more effective than with the 25T.
  6. This site has mostly WWII 3D models but I was surprised by the beauty and the detail! http://gunpoint-3d.com/view-M1Abrams.r.html Check out the free samples: - Jagdpanther - M1 Abrams - Patrol boat - Dodge WC-51 In whatever project these models are going to be used, I am going to buy it anyway! Example: Project: Pyotr Velikhy Project 1144.2 Orlan Kirov class Guided Missile Cruiser (Nuclear Powered) Russia, 1973 packages: 3DS Max 14.1 Mb 3D Studio 10.6 Mb maps 0.6 Mb vertices: 839,485 faces: 1001,861 price: $77 BTW: The FREE M1 Abrams has 63,541 vertices.
  7. Thrustmaster HOTAS -=C O U G A R=-
  8. What is next? The weapon bay doors locks and one of the 120’s goes active.:pilotfly: :helpsmilie: :megalol:
  9. This is not like plug-and-play. I am still not confirmed that this thing will fit in any kind of bay. Lets take a closer look:
  10. Exactly, The US will never design a rack or even think about using foreign missiles on their planes. They never did it and my guess is that they will never accept a deal like that! BTW, a ramjet-technology based R-77 version is under development.
  11. Length is Ok but, Do you think that the F-22 project did not cost already enough. Production is already started. Do you really think that they are going to cut open the 22 and redesign completely.
  12. Conventional rocket powered missiles rely upon an initial boost phase to achieve high speed, followed by a 'coast' phase to intercept. Latest generation, highly maneuverable aircraft have the ability to outrun or outmaneuver conventional missiles at the extremes of their range, where their energy state is weakest. In contrast, the Meteor's Bayern-Chemie solid propellant, throttleable, ducted-ramjet motor gives it sustained Mach 4 speed in order to chase and destroy targets even at the outer edges of the missile's range. The divergence goes to a fundamental disagreement about future threats and tactics. American doctrine to address the proliferaton of weapons systems like Russia's Sukhoi SU-27 family with AA-12 "AMRAAMski" missiles was predicated on having planes (F/A-22, F-35 JSF to some extent) with stealth features that would reduce the range of detection and engagement, while using vectored thrust technologies and other enhancements that would combine with stealth to give its planes the edge in close-in fights. In contrast, the Europeans chose a combination of less stealthy and maneuverable 4th generation aircraft with long-range missiles carried externally, in order to defeat foes at the outer edge of the engagement range. Hence the Meteor BVRAAM and its design characteristics, including 100 km est. maximum range which is roughly double that of the AIM-120 AMRAAM. There are also reports that the Meteor missile will include "hand-off" capability to other aircraft, which could further improve fighter survivability in head-on closing engagements by avoiding situations in which the enemy can get close enough for a return shot with today's increasingly accurate 5th generation short-range missiles. Source: www.defenseindustrydaily.com Fitting the meteor into the stealth-enhancing internal weapon bays of the F-35 JSF and F/A-22 Raptor would be an impossible job! Tuckson Sonny,
  13. After testing a couple of extra hours I have to confirm that there is a huge FPS increase (5 à 10 FPS):pilotfly: 52+ FPS on the tarmac in a mission (before it was 44+) Low alt over cities (3 à 5 FPS increase) All this was done with my usual setup 16x12 2xAA,4xAF.
  14. Do you want to hear something weird? I was still running with my Original Nvidia drivers from last year! Anyway this beta driver is running great! - GPU is running about 10°C cooler - Quality self shadow improved (self shadow issue solved) - FPS is about the same I guess (This was already good with the original) - Not yet found problems with other titles Thanks anyway!
  15. It is interesting that a fighter pilot made the conclusion from the HUD picture that the Hornet is down to 180 knots after only 180 degrees of turn and could have kept the turn going a bit more (His max G is 7.6 and he's at 18.5 AOA). This was not a lucky shot! The hornet pilot was not gunning all over the sky and taking a lucky shot! An overshoot wouldn't matter in this case because the raptor would be a fireball. PS. Check the comments made by real fighter pilots (a flaming war is going on there: Navy vs air-force :icon_supe )
  16. Black box on the top left is an event marker to show that the trigger was squeezed... That raptor driver is so dead. C’mon man, you can’t argue that!
  17. Once I read a story about a German Euro fighter pilot who was telling that at low speed the ef-2k could flip completely about 180° like a coin in a second without TVC (almost the same happened here with the Super Hornet). In a turn-fight the 22 would definitely have to acknowledge his superiority against the su-35/37 with TVC. Of course I realize too that in RL situations it will not come so far except when outnumbered (a turn fight) .
  18. How about cheaper like for free? Anyone?
  19. Considering that bad pilots don’t ever have the chance to see an F-22 cockpit from the inside, I don’t buy your statement. Nice pic! You just made my day! (Ok I just love the classic fighter planes more)
  20. That is what CAP is all about! Your mission is to clear or prevent that enemy fighters or whatever enters your airspace between the CAP waypoints between the periods of time which was assigned to it. In a dynamic campaign (f4) it happens that the enemy has not the resources or doesn’t want to take the risk to bother you. In f4 an easy cheat is to decrease the CAP-time before you start and the chance for success increases. BTW, BARCAP and SWEEP missions are my favorites.
  21. You have a point there: the Russian tax payer has already a hard time (most of them anyway) BTW, this trick works also very well on the tarmac (You need less tarmac).
  22. I don’t think so. Because the shocks drop down to early and as a result the engines run not yet @100% full AB. With this little trick: pressing the breaks until your plane can’t hold the pressure and is moving already a little bit: if this happens you can release with full/max AB engine power. (With an overload kh-41 etc. it makes a difference trust me) BTW, full flaps are very important for producing drag.
  23. The screenshots shows an almost exact copy of the falcon4 terrain and weather system. Of course we all know that falcon is a lot more than just the gpu-engine. The system requirements are ridiculous low. My guess is that it is rather arcade. Anyway this can be good for getting noobs into modern flight sims and let them step over to more serious flight simulators like FC and Falcon.
  24. Been there, done that thus take my advice: - take sleep for minimum 7 hours/day and most importantly include sport exercises in your weekly schedule because otherwise you will be out of shape very quickly (becoming fat)
