  1. Talking about cost saving…
  2. You are excused. It is Ok. :D
  3. I only buy the several sustained 9G turns in the video. Needless to say, that I would throw away first the heavy load before making all these fancy evasion maneuvers at 9G+ being in that critical situation. Anyway it was the first made Su-35 kill on video :pilotfly: .
  4. There is a graph (cost versus Air Dominance) of western fighters on their site: http://www.eurofighter.com/Typhoon/Cost/ Click on the Affordable Air Dominance –tab The F-15F is in 3th place (before Rafale 4th place) @Pilatosso, American refers also to loco
  5. Put the water on medium, no mirrors, heat blur off and do not exaggerate AA/AF and your rig will rock in 16x12+ …
  6. The title was taken from the official www.eurofighter.com site. You have to admit that they warned us about the material as being a “Promotion film” and thus “Not pretend to be RL or realistic sequences”. The message was that the role was a 5th generation Multirole fighter aircraft and in that global role indeed “Nothings Comes Close” BTW, I admit that in the category “air-superiority” it is only #2. ;)
  7. American may refer to: A person or attribute of the Americas, the lands and regions of the Western Hemisphere A person or attribute of the United States BTW, Pillotasso refers to the 3th option: American may refer also to: 4-4-0, a type of railroad steam locomotive :D
  8. Yes indeed a thread without Cali, Piotasso, GGTharos, S77th-Goya, IguanaKing and without D-Scythe. I guess I was not the only one missing the thread … Wait a minute, these guy’s were not missing the thread but they are Americans. :D From now on I will boycott every F-22 thread! :D
  9. Eurofighter Typhoon: Nothing Comes Close. Promotion film! http://www.defencetalk.com/military_videos/air_force_videos/eurofighter_typhoon_nothing_comes_close_20060830.php
  10. @D-Scythe, Supercooling of a sensor is indeed a new technology that is not understood by people with an IQ like you have. Please look up “Supercooling” in your dictionary and have a break. @GG, The problem is that you still think of IRST technology from 1985. Pirate (IRST of today) has had the benefit of being able to use state-ofthe- art technologies such as a high sensitivity (by supercooling the sensor using wavelengths from 3 to 11 µm in two bands), high resolution, long linear array thermal detector and very high speed processing. This ensures that the IRST/FLIR equipment is an effective passive adjunct to Captor, providing Typhoon with world beating detection, track and fire control capabilities. (an upper limit range of 80nm has been has been hinted at)
  11. PIRATE is 50-80nm range… This is of course the F-22 his worst nightmare (how long before the PLAAF can buy/develop their own PIRATE and integrate with the Su-30). PS. Your definition of stealth = technique to defeat only radar waves (radar=WWII technology)
  12. Was it maybe a truck factory? :D
  13. In the past computers were used already to find a mach in the criminal person photo database. Today IRST is in fact better than radar in identification of intercepted airborne targets! BTW, the range of PIRATE is like a lot of f22 stuff: N/A. Anyway I got a hint from a Spanish technical forum (TECNOBIT engineer) To explain it in simple English: The sensor system have actually a potential range that is higher than the today’s radars but indeed today’s computer – capacity is not yet ready to deal with the resolution that you need for this kind of range.
  14. You can’t detect an IRST lock anyway (and they will have their radar off). BTW, in the past IRST was useless because of the lack of computer-capacity (read resolution capacity). Increase of resolution=increase of range. As a result of better resolution PIRATE for example provides multiple target detection and tracking up to 500 targets.
  15. Last time I checked, the F35 did not yet exist.;)
  16. Are you kidding me OF COURSE I KNOW THIS! The F22 his AESA radar is the only piece of hardware that is actually a new innovation! Pirate IRST was tested against drones much smaller than the F-22 and a lot stealthier too. (BTW the F117 is 50% stealthier than the 22) Please spare me your next reply: I will write it already for you: The F22 will make circles around about everything that become airborne in the next century and kill it in less than a heart-beat. In the F22 everybody is Red Baron. The F22 is so stealth that even his first wingman doesn’t know were his leader is. The AIM120D doubles the range of his ramjet adversary without even using that new technology (BTW these missiles never miss a target). It supercruises at Mach 1.7, it can accelerate to Mach 1.8 in a heart-beat (wait a minute … ok that must be a fake F22 on that air show with AB on max all the time and slow like a toad) @IguanaKing, The early Tornado strikes (read all the dirty work) were actually the key of the success of the further developments of Operation Desert Storm.
  17. Your f22 stealth-system is already defeated by the ef-2k’s Pirate infrared search and track (IRST) and forward-looking infrared (FLIR). (They can lock and track you as a target outside your aim120 range) Why do you think that Russian’s or some other country can’t counter your system in the next 10 year? It was even beaten 10 years ago by the Tamara anti-stealth radar system. BTW, each AWACS of today knows exactly where you are and can counter your radar: BTW, the PLAAF is very close to counter your AESA radar already: KJ-2000 and Y-8 "Balance Beam" A Chinese radar plane was most likely testing a new microwave weapon when it went down last year, the electronics installed on the KJ-2000 and Y-8 "Balance Beam" aircraft can be used for far more than simple tracking. "Both platforms are testing different types of active phased array radar, which can serve as a highly flexible and difficult-to-jam radar, or if refined via software and more capable transmit-receive modules, can also become a microwave weapon that can directly attack enemy electronics," stated Fisher. "For example, if they can 'see' an approaching AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile, the most important U.S.-made air-to-air missile, then it can also likely 'fry' the missile's microchips, rendering it inoperable," stated Fisher. The AESA radar has already proven to be so adept and powerful that it can overwhelm, jam and even intercept enemy communications. The computer-controlled radar can use the latest information warfare spy algorithms to insert false data or plant a computer virus intended to bug and monitor the enemy communications. There is evidence that China is trying to develop similar radar-based weapons. According to the 2006 Pentagon report on Chinese military power, PRC officials have publicly indicated their intent to acquire advanced microwave weapons such as the AESA as a means of defeating technologically advanced military forces. "Chinese writings have suggested that RF (Radio Frequency) weapons could be used against C4ISR, guided missiles, computer networks, electronically-fused mines, aircraft carrier battle groups, and satellites in orbit," states the report. "Analysis of Chinese technical literature indicates a major effort is underway to develop the technologies required for RF weapons, including high-power radio frequency sources, prime-power generators, and antennas to radiate RF pulses. Chinese scientists are also investigating the effects of RF pulses on electronics and the propagation of these pulses through building walls and through the atmosphere. Furthermore, China appears to be assessing its own vulnerability to RF weapons and exploring ways to 'harden' electronics," notes the Pentagon report. *** :helpsmilie:
  18. Even your F22 has not a 1:49 kill ratio! You don’t understand my point do you?
  19. The 33 best WWII tiger ace tank commanders scored together about 1616 tank kills. Even a 33:1616 kill ratio was no guarantee for success. http://www.alanhamby.com/aces.html ;)
  20. Su-27 territory = S-300/400 territory = China/Russia/India territory. China/Russia/India = nuclear superpower territory :D
  21. Anyway he is right with his dual core remark! LOL :megalol: About the film it is kind of depressing It is the indeed the Untergang of a dictator! If you are only interested like me in WWII vehicles/tanks, it is not the film that you want to see.
  22. The real MFD looks like this:
  23. These are the planes that we need to go to war! Especially wars of today and within next 10 year…
  24. Eurofighter has greater load for half of the price! ;) Eurofighter swingroles Configurations: Air superiority: 6 x BVRAAM 6 x ASRAAM 2 x 1500 litre fuel tank 1 x 1000 litre fuel tank Air interdiction: 2 x Stand-Off Missiles 2 x Alarm 4 x AMRAAM 2 x ASRAAM 2 x 1500 litre fuel tank 1 x 1000 litre fuel tank Supression of enemy air defences: 6 x Alarm 4 x AMRAAM 2 x ASRAAM 1 x 1000 litre fuel tank Close air support: 18 x Brimstone 4 x AMRAAM 2 x ASRAAM 1 x 1000 litre fuel tank Maritime attack: 4 Penguin 4 x AMRAAM 2 x ASRAAM 2x 1500 litre fuel tank 1 x 1000 litre fuel tank
  25. About the video: I hope for that raptor that it is very very very stealthy because if not, it will be not more than meat for the su-35! I have the impression that if that rappy is not on full AB it can’t do anything! Pilatoss, What was your point again?:megalol:
