PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'
104th_Maverick replied to Nealius's topic in Multiplayer
^^^ Sir if someone accuses you of copying them simply delete the message and move on with your life, don't waste your time and energy on pedantic stuff like this.. the bottom line is ... no one cares... well that's not true... a very small number of people care, certainly not enough to inspire change. Its a game... you do you... ignore the haters. I mean who cares if someone clicked on a video thinking it was real jets and it turned out to be DCS? Life's to short to worry about nonsense like that. -
[NO, NOT REALISTIC] Is the F-18 Going to get an MWS?
104th_Maverick replied to DCS FIGHTER PILOT's topic in Wish List
Yeah you're right... I walked straight in to that one, my bad! Sorry ProBad... more coffee before posting for me! -
Fantastic video, thanks for the effort that went in to it!
-
They can be deployed from both the back and the front seat :)

Sadly the IFF in the Hornet is still terrible! But yes you would have to move the cursor over him in a turning fight (remember the real aircraft has working IFF and doesn't have to do this) You just have to be really careful, especially when in close, you really need to make the extra effort to get the contact dead centre in the HUD however I've still seen IFF give wrong info despite doing this.

[NO, NOT REALISTIC] Is the F-18 Going to get an MWS?
104th_Maverick replied to DCS FIGHTER PILOT's topic in Wish List
Double wrong, the legacy Hornet never had a MWS... the Super Hornet 'maybe' but not the Hornet we have. -
Thanks, I'll take a look at this and fix it now!

Should be done! Thanks to 104cdt_Bullet :)

DCS support not Responsive to repeted request!!!
104th_Maverick replied to gswindle's topic in Multiplayer
^ This. You can only see servers on the same version of the game that you are running. Update to the latest Open Beta version to access more servers. -
I don't know the exact numbers but I do know the AWACS detection range is based on the detected aircrafts Radar Cross Section. Aircraft with a low RCS are picked up later than aircraft with a large RCS, so just because a fighter is within 'detection' range of a larger aircraft doesn't mean the AWACS will see it.

No, all trim is done manually by the Pilot.

Case 3 carrier landing, did we get support from Jester?
104th_Maverick replied to Larkis's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Incorrect. The pilot can easily adjust the HSI course and this is all displayed behind the stick on the HSD and is easy to see :) -
We can be flexible for helicopter events on the LotATC rule.

Will us RIOs have a way to practise offline?
104th_Maverick replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Starting your aircraft in the air in SP and getting Iceman to fly around is a perfectly acceptable way of learning the back seat. (Its how I did it) Having Iceman taxi and takeoff isn't going to give you any extra 'learning' opportunities. Everything you need to excel in the backseat is available from an airstart in SP. Just create or get a mission with lots of enemy targets in it and have Iceman fly around while you identify and shoot at them :) Failing this .... get some friends :D -
Stream Highlights from the weekends event!
-
Yes, against a fighter it would. Keep in mind, the aircraft was designed to take down large targets at long range who don't necessarily have the avionics onboard to detect a launch in STT.

When you select someone to be kicked by selecting the ACTION drop down menu, a pop up appears with the option to type a message to the kicked client. This message doesn't get through to the client (they get kicked with just the message 'Kicked'). Biggest problem is the selected client keeps changing, if you select one client to be kicked it displays their name at the top of the pop up GUI, however this name keeps changing to different client names in the server and does not stay on the original client name that had been selected to be kicked. So If an admin selects for someone to be kicked, it ends up kicking the wrong person.

DCS: F-14 Air to Air Refueling Tutorial
104th_Maverick replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
That feature was WIP at the time of filming. -
Hope it helps while trying to contain the excitement of refueling a Tomcat :megalol::thumbup:

The MP scene will never be the same again! I honestly can't wait to be doing some proper multicrew sorties with all my friends!

FREEEEeeeeeEEEEEEeeeeeeDOM! -
Server updated to 2.5.4.28090

Yeah it 'mentions' Early Access but does not say the end user is 'getting' Early Access "* The F-14A and the TARPS pod will follow later during the Early Access period and the tutorials and campaigns will be implemented and expanded during this early access as well." When modules are first released to DCS they are called 'Early Access' modules because they are in the early stages of being accessed :D You'll see on the DCS Main Menu that the F-18 is still labelled EA. EA in this sense doesn't mean you get access before everyone else. Thanks, I can confidently say none of the waiting is going to matter when you see it. Have faith and a little patience and you'll be rewarded one hundred times over!
-
Sorry to burst your bubble. None of you paid for Early Access. Everyone who has already spent their money on the Tomcat paid for a module in PRE RELEASE for a discount! You were not 'promised' anything, You have no contractual agreements either (read the small print) Its comical to see how emotional people are getting over this. The people that are already using it are testing the module to make the release better for you. Its also no where near as simple as 'If its ready for YouTubers, its ready for me' .... No.... no it isn't! Try to think of this objectively instead of emotionally, obviously there is some planning between HB and the YT video creators, we see what we are allowed to see. Just because you didn't see any bugs doesn't mean that none exist. Its also pretty naive to assume you know better than the people developing the aircraft just because you have watched someone fly it on YT. These guys have worked around the clock for years to bring you the Tomcat therefore they get to say when its ready, not you or me but the people actually building the thing. They are not playing games with you, it has nothing to do with customer respect or hype but the fact that blood, sweat and tears have went in to making this module possible and they want it to be as good as it can be when they present it to the public. Would you want to spend years creating something only to be slammed for things being wrong with it that you could have fixed? Come on people, get off the 'I paid for early access' train and be a bit more realistic. You got a discount on a module that was clearly labelled 'Pre Release', this means you are giving money to something that has not yet been released. It doesn't entitle you to early access or a say in when it's released. Have faith ... In a few weeks all this complaining won't even matter as you'll be blown away at how good a job the guys have done on it.
