  1. AFAIK you set the Datalink to the Carrier before putting the HSD into AWL/PCD mode. This then auto sets the carrier final approach course in the HSD so you don't have to manually change it. I'll look in to it further however and see if its the correct behaviour.
  2. Have your carriers set to 18kts. This seems to really help with the deck movements and similar issues, its how we set our carriers up in the 104th server or on any training sessions we do and we have no issues with aircraft sliding around.
  3. All the gear and no idea :D I think people will start to get smarter with the aircraft in the coming months, at the moment its a little overwhelming for some people (including myself) and its easy to forget the basics. I'm sure once we've had the aircraft for about 6 months there will be some serious skills shown from its aircrews!
  4. What is the stream delay on this? Having this is really cool however it does open the field way up to stream sniping. I've been told the stream delay is 15 seconds, this is not really adequate for competitive PvP if its the case. Any long range Phoenix shots can be called by stream snipers and also long range AMRAAM shots. If its not being abused already it will certainly develop in to something people will take advantage of. If the intention behind removing GCI was to avoid having an 'all seeing eye' that took away any chance of sneaking or flanking tactics having the stream broadcast everyone's position with only a 15 second delay cancels that out. The stream delay should be set to 1 minute. This way the commentary team can still interact with the viewers but the participants can have the confidence that they are not being stream sniped.
  5. No, its been used extensively by the 104th in our trainings yesterday and we've not had any issues. For the RIO to launch the ACM switch must be in the CLOSED position in the front seat. The Pilot must also be in A2A mode with the Phoenix selected. Double check that this criteria was met next time you test it sir.
  6. To crank with Jester with a TWS shot you go in to the BVR Menu, then select AZIMUTH, then tell him to put the AZIMUTH all the way to the LEFT or RIGHT, after you have fired the missile. Jester will then slew the radar all the way to the side for you to keep track of the bandit as you do your turn.
  7. Yes! :) Moving left or right after firing as you described is called 'Cranking' and is something you should be doing with more or less every shot you take. The worst possible thing you can do against a good pilot is fire a weapon at him or her and then continue to fly 'straight' towards them. You crank left or right after firing to try and maximise the distance by 'minimising' the closure rate from your aircraft to any potential missile being fired back at you from the person you are engaging. If you fly straight towards them the 'closure rate' is going to be at its highest value and subsequently your range to the the incoming missile will be at its smallest value right up until impact. If you crank however you give yourself some extra time to defend and in BVR its all about banking up as many of these small 'time advantages' so you can safely defend against incoming missiles and not end up getting shot in the face. Depending on what mode you are in about 60 degrees left or right is the max crank angle you want to take in the Tomcat.
  8. You can, just get the RIO to switch to TWS MAN and move the azimuth after launch.
  9. Yes and yes. Simply press U and raise your launch bar and taxi away.
  10. The team knows about it champs, it’s on the to do list
  11. Not for A2A no. The pilot selects the weapons up front. There are missile mode functions in the back however no station needs to be selected for A2A employment in the back. The only time you need to select the stations is for A2G, if the pilot tries to drop a bomb in A2G mode without the RIO selecting the station in the back the weapon won't release.
  12. I'm not looking to teach anyone how to suck eggs here but a lot of people have simply been pressing the wrong radio button. Remember. If you are tuned to the tanker on the UHF radio its - Ralt+ radio button to contact him. If you are tuned to the tanker on the VHF/UHF radio its - Rctrl+ radio button to contact him. Simply pressing the Radio Button in flight will not work. I have tried and tried to recreate the issue of the tanker not replying or giving you the hose and have failed every time. I have never rocked up behind the tanker once and not had him reply to me or give me the hose, in SP or MP.
  13. Air hunter is correct, this is an ED issue that has been known for some time, it happens with every aircraft trying to drop the weapon, we patiently wait for them to fix it
  14. We spawn everyone on the CATs and then decouple from the shuttle and taxi to the rear of the ship to allow others to enter on the CATs behind us.
  15. I do this with no issue on pretty much every flight sir.
  16. Server updated to 2.5.4.29167
  17. Just pressing the radio button in flight doesn’t work you have to press.... RALT + Radio button for Radio 1 And RCTRL + Radio button for Radio 2
  18. Correct
  19. In the current version you have to manually flick the Autopilot engage / disengage switch with the mouse, the key binds for this does not work in this version but is fixed for next revision. Look at your AP switch when pressing your key bind you’ll see it doesn’t go off. I use AP on every flight and never have any issues but I’m always mousing the switches on and off.
  20. Welcome back to the 90s
  21. Never seen this before, it may be you have a fuel cut off switch bound to one of your keys, double check your mapping to make sure you're not inadvertently shutting off the engine,
  22. You have to press the Master Rest button after closing the Wing Sweep Cover. Its located to the right of the Fuel Probe Switch near your left knee.
  23. Once you have moved the lever forward and down and closed the cover you need to press the Master Rest button which is just above the cover and to the left (near the Fuel Probe Switch).
  24. Rates just means the pod isn't tracking any point on the ground (or area) and the picture you get will move along as the aircraft as it moves. (Basically the camera isn't moving to track anything but instead is just pointing on one direction) Make sure you enter A2G mode before trying to go AREA or POINT track and you're within 25nm of the target you want to look at.
  25. 61 was chosen because that was the channel I set the TACAN at in the mission editor. The tanker radio channel in that video was 251.0AM, the TACAN channel was 61X.
