  1. Great idea, everyone post! This is exactly what will happen.... Dev Team will see this post, Agree its a good idea, F-16 will be released in two weeks! Can't wait to fly it! ;)
  2. It is not a persistent campaign sir, the mission restarts back to the beginning when the server relaunches. The good news is we have ran the mission three times for over 17 hours so far. We are going to be having back up copies in case of a server crash where Blue start with Kutaisi and Red start with Sochi. We are also planning on doing 'event style' mission starts at the weekends, we would announce a mission start time and try to get as many people on board as possible and on comms and run it like a mini campaign for 12-17hours+. The server is OPEN sir and can be joined at anytime, sign up is not required. Thank you, it took a long time to design and a disgusting amount of time and effort to build. I'm really hoping as more people play it and become familiar with how the mission works that it will get even more intense! Just now a lot of people are still not reading the brief or on comms so there are loads of teamkills and lost little lambs at this stage but I am hoping that will change as the days / weeks go by.

  6. Post #2 updated with mission upgrades... -JTAC's on station at priority Airbases from mission start, Kutaisi for Blue and Sochi for Red. -JTAC's will no laser high priority targets (SAMS) before low priority units. -FARP Co-ordinates, grids and freqs added to the brief-Added extra helicopters to Senaki for Blue and Gudauta for Red. -Added client welcome messages when aircraft spawn at home base. -Added Admiral Kuznetsov battle group for Red -Set new weapon restrictions, Aim120C is now the only restricted weapon, all others are available. -Added respawn triggers for both sides tankers if they RTB or get shot down.
  7. It's supposed to :) We allowed the R-77 for little Miggy from the first round testing. Later today we are going to test Amraam B vs R-27ER, R-27ET & R-77 with the Kuznetsov also included.
  8. Yes. Sadly not unless you are in an aircraft that can turn the freq volume down. This shouldn't affect the SRS channel volume. The mission currently starts at 05:30 AM for a nice sunrise mission go :)
  9. Upload the mission and I'll take a look
  10. Its a bug, you are supposed to be able to load crates and troops from capturable FARPS but we're having issues getting it to work. Will hopefully have a solution for tomorrow.
  11. No. Give me DCS: Gulf War One so I can live the rest of my life a happy man!
  12. This would have been due to a client spawning a FOB on the Airbase. The guy kills more people than malaria in that thing! Make sure you keep up to date with posts #1 and #2, I am updating them as and when changes, fixes or updates are applied. No. Not yet. It is set to restart and is not persistant. We are still testing to see what that run time will be, at the time of posting this message the server has been running for 16 HOURS with high client traffic all day so signs are looking very good to be able to run 12 or 24 hour mission run times. No they should be set on Excellent be but I will look in to that and check it out tonight.
  13. At present we have no plans to export data to a live external map. We ask clients at this time to use the F-10 map to find out what is going on in the mission. While not as glamorous as a web map it does the job very well, clients simply need to click on an airbase and they can view its status in terms of being Neutral, Blue or Red. Another consequence albeit possibly a good one of us not having a web map is clients are forced to communicate with pilots already in the mission for a sitrep. If you are unable to get an update you can always open the F-10 map and check the status of an airbase. If it is Friendly you will be able to spawn at that airbase if all the enemy units around it are cleared out. If it is a neutral or enemy airbase that means there are still enemy units in the vicinity that need to be dealt with. .... Like I said, not as glamorous as a web map but still an effective way of keeping track of what is going on. The plan long term is to phase our existing missions out with this mission and different variations of it. So when a new mission starts it will have a different base set up at the beginning of the mission. Sometimes Red will have Sochi from the go and Blue will still be at Tbilisi or others Blue starts with Kutaisi and Red with Sukhumi and so on. There is actually a lot of variations we can do with that method to come up with lots of different scenarios for clients to deal with. This gives is the ability to make lots of different missions out of the same mission template which we hope to take advantage of if testing goes well. So far its looking good. On its first run it ran for over 8 hours with high client capacity, no lag or warping, so we are looking at the potential of running the missions in 12 hour sequences. Good times ahead, hopefully!
  14. Please read this notice on post#2 - https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3361308&postcount=2 ;) All aircraft that spawn at capturable bases start with no fuel. This is to stop clients from respawning and getting in to the air too quickly when the base is under attack. If a client is killed defending an airbase and the enemy are moving in to capture it, he cannot simply just quickly respawn and get in the air to start shooting again. Aircraft that start at Home Bases all start with 100% fuel. All aircraft that start with the Number 1 are Home Base Aircraft eg. 1 Maykop Mig29S A1 All aircraft that start with the Number 2 are Capturable Base Aircraft eg. 2R Sochi Maykop Mig29S A1. These aircraft only spawn once your coalition has captured the base and cleared the enemy from around it. This feature will not be changed.
  15. We'll look in to it ;) 1st post updated with Getting Started and Useful Information section. 2nd post updated Bug Board.
  16. Mission Bug Board created on 2nd post, I will do my best to update these as we go along, thanks for your patience in these early days! This is a big step for us so there are going to be a lot of small problems to work out as we go forward, but hopefully we'll get them ironed out as soon as possible! This is not a bug sir, please read the mission briefing. All aircraft have the same waypoint set up, so the first waypoint for all aircraft in the mission is Bullseye, the waypoints then go in a sequence along the Target Airbases, it tells you what sequence this is in the mission brief. You are not able to load weapons on the ground sir until you fly over and land on the FARP, this is intentional. This way you never have to worry about another aircraft spawning in on your helipad while you are rearming or refuelling at a FARP you did not spawn at.
  17. Thanks for the feedback guys, anything else that you spot that isnt correct please let me know and we can get it fixed. You can only spawn at Phoenix when your coalition captures Kutaisi sir, I will make that more clear in document somewhere. Thanks for letting me know about the other issues!
  18. First post updated with FARP Images and details of helicopter operations. The mission is running NOW on the server... Im off to get some well earned sleep and to hope for the best :D I'll see you guys later tonight after a snooze!
  19. Briefing updated (post 1) with Airbase Assault Battery details and Airbase Defence Upgrade Package details.
  20. Georgia and SU25T removed from Blue. SU-25A and SU-25T now exclusively on RED.
  21. DISCLAIMER: WE DO NOT CLAIM THAT THIS SCENARIO IS REALISTIC OR FAIR! While efforts have been made to make the mission balanced it has NOT been the main priority. No one from the 104th is claiming that this is a fair 50 / 50 fight or a realistic depiction of how a modern air battle would go. Both sides have advantages over the other in different areas! 22. 104th Phoenix Proudly Presents Operation Longbow A dynamic Multiplayer Mission set in the Caucasus Map. www.104thphoenix.com Featuring 6 Airbases to capture and hold in the battle-zone. Ability to recapture lost bases. Spawnable aircraft at newly captured airbases. Airbase Defence Upgrade rewards using heavy transport aircraft. Simple Radio. Helicopter Transport Operations using CTLD. AWACS. Aerial Refuelling. Locked GCI slots that are open for sign up. AFAC. JTAC. Anti-Ship Missions. (W.I.P) Deep Strike Missions. (W.I.P) Weapon Restrictions Introduction Operation Longbow is a large scale dynamic multiplayer mission that allows clients to capture any airfield in the Battle Area, clients can then spawn in aircraft from their newly captured bases. Starting at opposite ends of the map, both coalitions are aiming to capture all ten airbases within the Battle Area located along the Black Sea Coastline while preventing their opponent from doing the same. The Target Airbases are Kutaisi, Senaki, Kobuleti, Sukhumi, Gudauta, Sochi Min Vody, Nalchik, Mozdok and Beslan (Click the links for more info on coalition ground unit positions at the start of each round!) All ten Target Airbases are NEUTRAL the start of the mission however ground forces from each side are locked in a stand-off against each other at opposing sides of the airfields. Click on the links above in red to see the approximate location of each coalitions units. The victor is the first side to successfully deploy troops on all ten Target Airbases after eliminating the enemy guarding the position. Inter asset cooperation is key as airbases can only be captured by the landing of ground troops by a friendly Helicopter. Each coalition will require transport helicopter pilots standing by to land troops on the target airbases once the enemy has been cleared. Helicopter pilots will also be required to deploy JTACS, MANPAD Teams and EWR Systems to the front lines! Communications SRS Server IP - 208.94.240.34:5002 Simple Radio (SRS) is to be used as the primary mission communications tool while in the server, however we request that clients also use the 104th Teamspeak server for mission planning and networking purposes. Any client using a GCI slot MUST be on the 104th Teamspeak server. TS3 Server IP - ts50.gameservers.com:9132 - Password = phoenix We have set up a HELP CHANNEL to assist users in the set up of SRS on our Teamspeak server. The channel is called "Help setting up Simple Radio" and it's channel description has a step by step guide of how to install and set up SRS for use on the 104th. Coalitions The mission features an East vs West set up and is based on a fictional scenario that involves NATO Allies taking on Russia, Iran and China (Taiwan). NATO Pact USA, UK, Sweden Fighters:F-15C Strikers: A-10A, A-10C, AJS-37, AV-8B Helicopters: UH-1H, SA-342 Gazelle Russian Pact Russia, Iran, Republic of China (Taiwan) Fighters: F-5E, Mig-21, Mig-29A, Mig-29S, Mirage 2000, SU-27, SU-33 Strikers: SU-25A, SU-25T Helicopters: Mi-8, KA-50 Fighter Control Operators Fighter Control services will be available to clients through the use of LotATC. To sign up to become a 104th Server Fighter Controller you need to post an application HERE LotATC is now the only tool for Fighter Control, Combined Arms is no longer available on the server. Airbase Assault Batteries Each coalition has Assault Batteries for each Target Airbase. At the start of the round both coalitions have an Assault Battery at EACH airbase! To capture an airbase you must eliminate the enemy Assault Battery and then land friendly troops on the airfield. Once this has been complete the friendly Airbase Assault Battery will move on to the airfield to protect it! Red Assault Battery 8x T-90, 8x BMP3, 2x SA-15, 4x SA-13, 4x Shilka AAA Blue Assault Battery 5x M1A1, 6x IFV, 1x Roland ADS, 4x Chaparel, 4x Vulcan AAA Airbase Defence Upgrades Once a coalition captures an airfield a heavy transport aircraft will be despatched with an Airbase Defence Upgrade package. The package will arrive in two stages. First is the Surface to Air Missile system followed by an Early Warning Radar system brought in on another aircraft after the first has safely landed. If a coalition looses their first transport aircraft with the SAM package to the enemy a second aircraft will be despatched with another SAM system to try again. In this scenario the EWR system would NOT follow if the second aircraft makes it safely. A coalition only receives the EWR upgrade if the FIRST transport aircraft makes it safely to the airbase! Red Airbase Defence Upgrade Package SA-11 & EWR Blue Airbase Defence Upgrade Package Hawk & EWR Helicopter Operations Helicopter pilots are the key to a coalitions success in the mission. Transport pilots are required to land friendly troops on to the Target Airbases once the enemy troops have been cleared. Once the pilot has offloaded his troops the airbase will be secured for his coalition. FARPS can also be captured along with airbases. See the below pictures for FARP locations and details. FARPS in YELLOW are capturable by the enemy! FARPS in BLACK are not capturable. To rearm your helicopter you must fly over and land on the helipad then make your request to the ground crew! Cargo loading is done through the fantastic CTLD script by Ciribob in the RADIO MENU. All troops and crates are loaded when at a friendly FARP, loading crates and troops will NOT work at an airbase. You must consult the map and fly to your nearest FARP to pickup cargo. Once you have troops on board you can drop them when it is safe to do so at the target airbase and it will be secured for your coalition. DESPITE WHAT THE IN GAME MESSAGES SAYS, IT ONLY TAKES 3 SMALL CRATES TO BUILD A FOB, NOT 9 SMALL CRATES! Air to Air Weapon Restrictions The AIM120C AMRAAM is now available. Getting Started and Useful Information. We are running Ciribob's excellent slot blocking script on the server. Available here This means you cannot spawn at any airbase or FARP that your coalition does not control. Aircraft at home bases start with the Number 1, eg "1 Tbilisi F-15C A1" aircraft at Capturable bases start with the Number 2, eg "2B Kutaisi F-15C A1". If your coalition has not captured any bases in the mission you will only be able to spawn at a Home Base and select aircraft starting with 1. Once your coalition has cleared the enemy troops from a base then captured it you can spawn in at that airbase by selecting the aircraft based there in the aircraft list. FARP Phoenix activates for the BLUE side when KUTAISI has been captured and secured! FARP Gali starts as a RED FARP at the start of the mission however RED cannot spawn there until they capture SUKHUMI! All fixed wing aircraft start with 0% fuel at all capturable bases. Fixed wing aircraft starting at Home Bases load with 100% fuel. USE THE F-10 MAP We do not have a website with a live mission map, clients must use the F-10 map to see what airbases belong to which coalition. Press F-10 and click on the airbase you want the status of and it will tell you if it is RED, BLUE or NEUTRAL. You can only spawn on an airbase that belongs to your coalition AND has had the enemy cleared from around it!
  23. Server is currently hosting on 1.5.8.12823.414
  24. 104th Simple Radio Frequency Chart Please save the above chart for future reference when flying on the 104th Server. We will be making a big push this year to get more people on board Simple Radio while flying with us so don't get left behind. We have set up a teamspeak channel to help anyone struggling with getting SRS Setup. It is located below our Help Desk Channel and is called Setting Up Simple Radio. The channel description has a full breakdown of how to install and configure the radio for use with the 104th.
  25. We lowered it again to 250 as Oceandar pointed out to test out server stability and its been positive in terms of lowering server crashes. We are going to test it out for a further week or so before making a commitment to keeping it or going back above 250. Sorry to anyone who is missing the cut, we have to think of the majority of clients who are below 250. I know its not fair on people above 250 however its also not fair on users below 250 who have to endure server crashes because of someone's poor connection. We know 100% that not everyone with a ping of above 250 has a bad connection but for now its a good number for us to stick with to ensure only clients with solid traffic hops to our server are connected.
