I agree with Shadow KT. What it seems is that the CBU-97 falls upwind, and when the case is opened, the chutes will drift over target. With the CBU-105, the bomb opens up right over the target, then the chutes will drift away. What I see is that CBU-105 is guided like a JDAM (that's the purpose of the WCMD kit), thus opens up exacly over the target area. It makes sense with a normal JDAM, that must be guided to the target point, regardless of the wind. But makes no sense with a cluster bomb. Anyway, the only way I got to make CBU-105 work satisfactorily is by reducing Height Of Function to 700-900 feet.

Thanks. I'll try and see what can be done.

Well, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but... I set the SLAMs to FLT low. Fired the missiles, but insetad of going low, they go up and then, midway the missile seems to spend all his fuel anf falls down to the ground. I fired them in TOO mode, and I checked the waypoint height and it is right, close to the ground. Really don't know what I'm doing wrong. Very strange behavior by the missile.

Tested it recently. It is broken. bummer...

ELI5 Adding Weapons to Aircraft's LUA?
RodBorza replied to Nealius's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Thanks. But I can't seem to find the files for the Huey. I read in some other post that they are encrypted for playable aircraft. Is that so? Or is there a way to work around it? Thanks. -
ELI5 Adding Weapons to Aircraft's LUA?
RodBorza replied to Nealius's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Thanks for that. This is a good thread. I want to add or replace the rockets in the Huey rocket laucnhers with APKWS rockets. How can I do that? Most solutions I have found are only for FC3/LOMAC aircraft. -
Hello all, I could just ask for someone to do it, but I think that wouldn't be fair. Anyway, how can one, in this case me, a total noob start to mod. Is there a manual, a SDK, a website... What I want to do is to use the APKWS in the Huey. Using the helo as a launching platform and the guidance made by a JTAC or another aircraft. Thanks.

I made a tutorial about the usage of the GBU-54 Laser JDAM. Using three medthods: 1) Pure JDAM 2) Pure LGB 3) Hybrid: 3.1) JDAM drop + own terminal guidance 3.2) JDAM drop + JTAC terminal guidance 3.3) LOFT toss + JTAC terminal guidance. For the terminal guidance I used Ciribob's JTAC Autolaze lua script. But you can use any kind of terminal guidance.

Thank you all. I'll try that.

Bad assery at its finest!

Well, Last patch gave us Laser JDAMs. Before the A-10C. It is nice. However, didi some testing, and they are only working as JDAMs. Tried to launch as a JDAM and then terminal guide it as a LGB, but did not work. Maybe something is missing or I am doing the release as LGB wrong.

Very nice. I'll look for it.

You don't pull to much. Just enough so you you are not able to see the horizon anymore. Look at the picture below for a visual reference: This is the roundout after the threshold. Actually, the picture there is a bit exaggerated. A little less pitch up is fine. Forward visibility is poor, so you will have to use the "Lindenbergh Line". Look out in YouTube for the Finer Points channel. The CFI there will tell you how to use the lateral references of the canopy to judge altitude and runway alignment. That's a big help on landing warbirds.

Two weeks, perhaps?

Yes, that's the technique. Fly it on to the runway. I do that with power on. It takes a lot of runway, but it is the way to do it. And, for me, coming in low, helps a lot to refrain that excess energy.

Strangely enough I disagree with all the posts above. I guess piloting is a very personal and individual experience. Anyway, landing for me is: 1) P47 is the hardest 2) P-51 was the hardest, but I've trained this to exhaustion now I can fly it; 3) Spitfire was always the easiest. The Jug in particular was impossible for me until they've released the first patch. That changed everything. As a general rule, for the three birds, I use this: 120 knots/mph on approach and in landing config, using throttle to maintain descent rate to -500 ~ -1000 fpm. And never, never ever cutting the throttle as crossing runway threshold, but maintaning the throttle at -500 fpm before touchdown. The Mustang taught me to touch softly as its undercarriage is made of glass. In the Jug you can use a little more of abuse, as it is more rugged and can handle a hard landing (after the patch, before, it had a glass undercarriage too). Once at the runway threshold, roundout, don't flare, and let the bird touch down softly. Once on the ground, cut the throttle and let it roll down the runway filed. All aproaches I start at 1,000 ft above field elevation, the only exception is the Jug to which I use 500 feet as instructed in the manual. The Jug likes to be down low.

Sling loading cargo to a frigate, and the cargo ignites
RodBorza replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yep, slides off deck. Reported here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283053 -
Hello ED and Belsimtek teams, At first I wouldn't report this as a "bug', but since many people asked, here it is. I did a mission to VERTREP cargo from shore to ship, in the case, a aircraft carrier. Once I drop the cargo on the deck, the cargo does not "stick" to the deck, and slides off deck and end up hanging in the air. See following video: Original video is here, at the 8:41 mark: Anyway, I don't know if it is a bug per se or if it is something that I have to change on the mission editor, or create some logic to link the cargo to the ship's deck within editor. Other thing is, and it must be a ED problem, not Huey related, everytime I put a cargo (static object) on the deck of a ship, the cargo falls down to the ocean. The only way it "sticks" to deck is by linking it to the respective Unit. But then it is not selectable as cargo from the Huey's menu anymore.

Doing some VERTREP with the Huey.

Landings were pretty terrible, I agree. Now with the update, it is "landable".

Yes, it is a new plane now. You can feel the power of the engine now. Kudos to ED! -
