  1. Zaelu, a more 'alive' airfield is the reason I started the "trees-mod". Believe me, if I could bring stuff to life I would. It just isn't to be. People just like to see new things from time to time but after a while the novelty wears off and no one notices those cranes you mention anymore. You could off course allways look the other way ;) Anyway, two more shots:
  2. @Cali: my guess is the formation was rotated 180°. I'm surprised only two rotated foramtions were found since I stopped counting after 50 when studying the scenery file. Post the long/lats so I can check if it is oke now. @Oscar: The crane appears quite often in the scenery. The Pods etc only appear as weapon load out and are new to the scenery. Speaking of which here a new preview. A truck with free-fall bombs is waiting for a A2G flight to return to Gudauta AFB.
  3. Merzifon is Alfa's work. I don't use it since it doesn't add an airbase but 'steals' one from the default lockon scene. However Alfa , SwingKid and I are in close contact and they all have the 'source-code' of my scenery additions. They could easily add them to the scenery file that is used in the Merzifon mod. As for the upcoming armybase: I just wanted to add something more then 'just' solving bugs. It will definitly make a nice target ;) Besides the armybase I plan to add some 120 extra objects all placed on or around the 21 airfields. On request, the parked Tu-22 at Razdolnoye will be removed. Another preview: EMC-pods are unloaded from a truck next to a shelter at Krymsk AFB

  5. Besides a bug fix (hundreds of trees rotated 180°), several eye candy can be expected. A preview: A Su-34 under maintenance is about to receive a new ejection seat...

  9. Taxi times and proximity to AI planes might differ if you change the take off direction and/or your parking position. # Change the wind direction (head wind) to control the take off direction. Use windspeeds >15knt/s to achieve this. Note that this doesn't work on one or two airfields (forgot which) # Place statics on parking positions to control your own. Note that your plane will explode upon game entry if all parking positions are taken.

  11. After some editing-advise I decided to make a movie of my latest mission (which I will will post later). Even after compressing it to DivX format, the 5:30m. movie is still over 60Mb in size. Eventhough I spent a lot of time making it as smooth as possible there are still some hick-ups here and there (I guess my poor ol' vid card just isn't up to the job). Anyway, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

  19. There are no eggs in the scenery files as far as I can see. One object that is kinda funny is a dry dock near Sevestapol with the text "Don't tie up" Besides the hundreds of extra objects that I placed in my scenery mod, the grass-runway might be considered an easter-egg.
  20. The utility used to compress the data is developed by members of the community. It is not as powerfull as the design tools ED uses. Allthough the file is bigger, all data is in there and it does the job without problems. Just to give you an idea; importing the data into Ms-Word using font size 10, generates a document little over 30.000 pages.
