Kola Development Report | Bat Bomb Progress | F4U-1D on Finals
YoYo replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
Im not sure that it will be DCS core for free, see this: ”All these and a substantial number of other assets and AI units will be available in the DCS: WWII Pacific Pack. Please be aware that owners of the existing WWII Assets Pack will benefit from a 30% discount.” https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/newsletters/efb74b9a7ab1067e51ff6f796b07a4b4/ From what we know: Magnitude3 is responsible for some of the WW2 PTO Assets (Essex carrier, ground vehicles, possibly Zero AI), the ED team is responsible for some of them (Enterprise carrier, other ships, other planes, possible static objects), the assets with planes and ships will be paid (according ED news). It is possible that you need to have Corsair to have the assets from Magnitude (according me, something like with SA map, however some Magnitudes model are on ED’s newspaper as payware option so the second option - only payware addon). -

I hope that the ground asset will also come with F4U. These are Magnitude3 products, so just like with the asset for the South Atlantic map - if you have Corsair, you will also get the asset: -
I hope so. Carrier was in the latest shorts from ED.
-
The basic question is whether it will be EA from the very beginning, and not in half a year or even a year.
-
Will there be an aircraft carrier right away with the release of EA? I can't imagine flying only from the ground.

Will we get the Corsair sooner than the Hellcat? -
DCS Campaigns Update | Marianas WWII Preparation | DCS Dogfighters
YoYo replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
The exact date was not given, of course, but there was talk of the 2nd quarter. At least recently. We know, we know, "subject to change" : -

MiG-29A Today? The 2nd quarter is ending and I have a few days off from now . -
Does left MFD work now or not yet?

Despite the announcements over a year ago, I would not have expected this. BD is certainly working on other campaigns at the moment (as I know and the main focus is there), and the situation with PC does not guarantee further development. However, you will see good news very soon. However, this is a different topic related to the map of Germany :).

DCS runs significantly hotter in multiplayer than in singleplayer
YoYo replied to SspectrumM's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I have a similar impression. While the problem of high temperatures in single player has been solved, in multi I still see (although maybe not as high as it was before the hot fix) quite high CPU temperature. I have a quite simple monitoring system, which consists of LED signaling about temperatures. When I fly in single I have a blue light, which means "CPU quite cool", below 65C degrees, but in multi I have purple, which means temperature around 70-80C, something like that. For now I explain to myself that on the same computer I set up a server to fly with friends, so there are more processes than in single, but the temperature is definitely higher multi vs single. I don't know if this is a bug or the norm though. -
Wow, thanks a lot again!
-
Why? Because they could! +1, but it's worth noting that Kiowa currently has no updates, also Discord is pretty quiet about support. After the team split in January (2nd time for PC) I don't really expect any updates soon, although I hope I'm wrong.

We've heard about such plans, but there was nothing specific about the Mi-8 exactly from what I remember. In the case of the Ka-50 or A-10C, there were announcements by name that these modules would receive new versions, so I'm basing it on that. Either way, for me it's an immediate purchase, I also like the Mi-8 very much and either a newer version or at least some interior refreshment would be useful, like they plan to do with the Su-25. Personally, I would like to see something with a pointed nose, something like the Mi-8MTV-5. I would like to note, however, that the withdrawal of Russian helicopters from the Russian store rather completely destroys any plans for any development I suppose. Im a pessimist here. There is no agreement on this, one can conclude, so further development is unlikely. The situation has not been clarified and the modules have not returned to the Russian store. Edit. by the way, reply from Chat GPT :
-
There are no plans, but it would be good to refresh the cockpit at least to today's standards of new modules.

As beta tester? This mod wasn't released yet.

Of course, it is difficult to assess in this case what the individual problem is. The solution is to the fact that after starting DCS and at the beginning of the mission, you can feel a distinct stutter, which is caused by something constantly loading. This is related to activating and loading subsequent modules, even if you do not use them. After a few minutes, i.e. 1-4 minutes (depends on hardware and kind of the disk), it goes away and this is the topic of this thread. When making a save or exiting, when DCS saves some data, it happens again, which is why it all takes so long. This is currently without this "fix". However, if you still have stutter, during the whole mission and flight, it may also be unfortunately some other issue, unrelated to this loading problem.

Also try just DLAA (AntiAliasing section), without any upscaling, i.e. without DLSS, e.g. DLAA creates some artifacts but overall the image is the best in terms of smoothing the lines.

Personally, I have disabled antivirus monitoring of the DCS folder and his exe files long time ago, so the problem still persists despite this. The problem is related to the fact that currently DCS unnecessarily loads everything it has (all activated by user modules/maps) which causes long loading, long saving and stuttering during the game as well as long DCS exit, this was changed four patches ago. I dont know about the idea and reason of this changes. We have a solution - given in this thread, but I wonder why it was changed since it causes a drop in performance.
