  1. Wags, where is the guide? I can't seem to locate it.

    Holy Toledo

6 hours later and I've finally managed 2x VFR Pattern landings on an airfield. Keeping the E-Bracket is still my largest weakness. That initial break to downwind is by far the thing that gets me every time in addition to find the sweetspot. After 2x sloppy'ish ones in a row I decided to call it a night and reflect a bit. Kudo's to Mav, Wags, Jabbers and others who have clearly started to perfect it. This bird is by far the hardest yet... absolutely amazing - Thanks ED!
  3. She does know this is the end of your marriage - right? :megalol::megalol::megalol: Mine just texted me to say "am I going to see you tonight", to which I responded, "look up and listen".
  4. Based on my experience doing major enterprise IT releases... yes it surely helps having a target release date and time to help facilitate communication/expectations. However, we can all keep complaining and being frustrated, but just know that in a few hours we aren't going to care anymore. Just give ED time and patience.
  5. Were you inferring that we are children on the forums?:lol:
  6. I do not know how you keep composure - but +1 to you, sir.
  7. This is completely irrational logic.:lol:
  8. This will be the best news ever then. :music_whistling:
  9. I "work from home" tomorrow. However, it's mostly just to get the download going so that when work is finished I can fly. If it's anything like the 2.5 release it will take all day (took me 6 hours). If it goes faster then I'll be "working" of course.
  10. This thread will be your bible if you wish to do this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70716&highlight=MFD+viewport
  11. In this case not an app. I have 3 displays put behind the front console. I attached an image so you can see how I did it. I do have 2 1080 TIs to make this happen. I turn off SLI and utilize 4 video ports on the back of the video cards to run the 3x displays and my main display. There is a ton of information on this site regarding pulling the related view ports - i think there are sticky's in the I/O section of the forums. Also, yes - I have the CDU being displayed on the bottom, middle monitor because the 10-charlie only technically has two displays. For the hornet it will be all 3. Take a look at this thread of my progress: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205723

    Waves

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this request but everything seems to be geared around the F-18 these days. One of the biggest challenges of landing on the carrier are the swells of waves in the ocean, especially during storms. I'd like to see some higher fidelity waves in the game. Obviously, a game like Sea of Thieves is a bit of an extreme example of how beautiful waves/water can be. But in the current state I feel as though the water does not have enough fidelity to make it feel real enough during storms. Especially from a cosmetic stand point. So my request is more fidelity with water, even better simulation of currents in rivers and such. There has definitely been major strides in this arena, but I'd like to see more focus especially with carrier/sea ops.
  13. I fly in full burner the entire time, even on landing (out of fuel) so it does not matter for me!
  14. I say this as someone who has led corporate inclusion groups and facilitated meetings to approach topics that can make people uncomfortable... I think there are aspects of this OP and thread are a bit nit picky. I believe intent is a huge part of this conversation. There's a difference between someone getting irked that a woman joins a TS channel/flying and someone casually saying "hello gentleman" during their stream. Of course, I am a man (though my wife would say I'm more feminine than she is:megalol: ) and I'm likely not going to notice these things like you are. However, I have seen youtube videos where women say "hello ladies" because it is obvious that their primary audience is women. For example, my wife has shown me some crazy makeup artist videos on youtube. Clearly, there are going to be men who watch that channel as well, but I do not think they get offended or notice? I certainly was not because it's clear who the target audience was. But I also know that youtuber did not say "hello ladies" because she was trying to be spiteful or exclusive... so I didn't really care. If that makes sense at all? With all of that said, there is obviously nothing wrong with choosing non-gender-specific words. Inclusiveness makes people feel welcomed and the more we are privy to the words we use and how they may impact others the better off society is, in general. I just think being mindful of intent is incredibly important; especially when this exists on both sides of the gender gap. In terms of character models in the sim... Personally, I'd like to see far more other features added to the game than this. I think calling it immersion breaking is a bit of a stretch. The primary focus of this "game" is the simulation aspects of operating a machine. If you're focusing on avatars (of which look nothing like me: i'm far more attractive than these models:music_whistling: ) I think you're focusing on the wrong aspects of the game - but that's my personal opinion. Final words, I'll fly with anyone. I could careless if you're a man, woman or LGBTQ.
  15. The carrier that will release with the F18 is an update to the old carrier model. Later this year there will be a highly detailed carrier that will release as a purchasable module; features and details of this are still unknown at this time. This has been discussed many times and reiterated over Wags’ live streams.
  16. This makes sense, too. Get the Press Releases out a couple weeks before the main release to consumers. SO PUMPED!
  17. I can confirm the OP's problem. When connecting to a server like 104th, it can take multiple times of joining, just like before 2.5.1. I am located in the states and my ping is usually between 10-30ms. My PC is also quite fantastic, too (in my signature). My preload slider is about 1/2-to-a-little-less. I have found if I just leave my pc for 5 minutes I'll be in the lobby and it will work fine. The problem is that you get into the lobby before the game has fully loaded and it lags like heck, even when trying to select an aircraft, not to mention hitting fly. Also, the game during this point has a high probability of crashing. We are likely going to start having a bunch of new players coming to DCS, with the release of the F18, and this should be fixed... it's going to frustrate a heck of a lot of people. To Daniel's point, a loading screen or -SOMETHING- while everything is loading would be helpful to the end user, especially those who may not have had to deal with this over the past few months.
  18. So my frames are now solid at 60 fps when I modified the Config.lua file in the DCS-ExportScript folder; I highlighted the changes I made, in red. I'm curious why this has an impact on my frames, but it most certainly does. Also, I've noticed the HSI Mileage in the F-15 is off by like 12 miles or so (IE: 5 miles actual: 17 miles displayed in the export) any way to fix this? -- Ikarus and D.A.C. 19. 2.5 and 2.5.1; I'm seeing similar performance in both.
  20. Yes. Same result with the A-10c as well.
  21. I'm having some crazy performance issues running this software. Lets talk about my setup first, though, 4 Displays: 1x Primary: ASUS ROG 34" 3440x1440 3x Secondary 8" 800x600 I'm running DCS in windowed mode, with the game extended to the secondary monitors. I have setup the F-15 to export two separate 'windows' to two of the monitors (one of HSI and one for ADI). In the Export.lua file I have added the line: dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[scripts\DCS-ExportScript\ExportScript.lua]]) When Ikarus is running (or even not running) I am seeing wild frame rates between 19-30fps. When I comment out the dofile line my frames stay contantly at 60FPS. --dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[scripts\DCS-ExportScript\ExportScript.lua]]) Is this a known issue? I tried searching this thread but didn't see any direct answers. You'll find my computer setup below in my signature. When I'm running all 4 monitors I turn off SLI and have one of the GTX 1080Ti devoted to the secondary monitors. Thoughts?? UPDATE: I went into the Config file in the DCS-ExportScript folder and set both D.A.C. (DCS Arcaze Connector) and Ikarus and D.A.C. can send data from true to false, which improved my frames. I'm mostly stable at 60FPS but it stutters occasionally; is this normal behavior?
