There are those not using VA and don’t have many hotas buttons. So I hope PC could just give the simple option of a command wheel like in the other modules or list them in the F10 comms menu. Though I managed to map most of the AI commands using a modifier in my warthog hotas using a layout that seems intuitive to me. Works well, almost feels like a cheat, more capabilities than an actual autopilot.

3 Position switch bindings not working
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Rhinozherous's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah some 3-way light switch bindings like the flood lamp off/green/white, position lights, etc are messed up. -

Yes you are right. I saw it. Thanks

There is a "pie menu" in the control bindings but no option to actually bind it to your devices and it does not appear to do anything if you press the default keyboard commands mapped to it.
-
- IZLID binding does not work unless you first right click the IZLID button on the collective at least once. - Right clicking on IZLID button is only possible if collective is lowered. Once collective is raised, button is not clickable. - IZLID laser is not visible through NVG in daylight. (Is this realistic?) Very faint but it's there.

Please, a command rose or F10 menu options for the AI commands is needed for those who don't use VA and are running out of hotas buttons. Update: Check out Bailey's KIO-WA overlay app for AI Pilot.

An optional command rose is needed too for those who don't use VA and are running out of buttons.

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
It shouldn’t be about who values what more but a clearer standard and consistency on what constitutes an EA or non EA so we don’t have debates like this. When judging a module, all things come into play, including textures, sounds, animations, because these aspects have been shown to us to be an integral part of module development and are of better quality in several modules out of EA or even in EA.- 591 replies

My thoughts too. I got it yesterday and well true enough it doesn’t match up with the textures in other modules. There will always be two camps, those that aren’t that bothered with visuals and those who are more discerning with their purchases. Both can agree to disagree. My take is that it is a matter of better clarity and sales integrity.- 591 replies

I find it rolls unexpectedly at times. Might be my stiff desktop stock warthog hotas. Obviously those with stick extensions will find the FM better esp when it comes to helos. We went through months of this type of discussion with the Apache.

GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Consumer expectations vary, obviously. The point here is about sales principles, clarity, regulation, standardisation, so consumers don't speculate and debate. I think that's lacking. That's why you have things like RB products still being sold with no cautionary note.- 591 replies

Thanks for the unbiased review. I agree with you. If it was an EA, it would have been a pretty good release. If damage modelling had been done properly, I could perhaps accept it as a non-EA. It's open ended now what may or may not be fixed and when. With all due respect to Casmo, and I do follow his vids, I think he takes a more relaxed approach which is fine, to each his own. I think in terms of FM and systems, it's more or less there with some improvements to come I'm sure. But not all consumers are the same (obviously). The more discerning ones who pay full price for a non-EA expect a module that's in a similar state to other modules that have come out of EA. I believe that includes better graphics (in 2024), animation and proper damage modelling.- 591 replies

Yes, I could fly solo without an AI. But for completeness, some company and exciting chatter, an AI partner would be great. I think the Apache AI system works great for solo players - the AI supports me when I am in either seat.
-
I know the F4 module is very well done. I have the F14 and it wasn't my cup of tea and I rarely ever fly it. I'm more into modern stuff like the F18/16 and Apache and fly solo. So just wondering, is there anyone like me out there who still went ahead to buy the F4 and how has it been so far? Thanks!

Would Heatblur consider re-naming Jester for the F-4E?
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Spino's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I was expecting a different voice and name but I guess it was easier for HB to build on what they had already as it was a lot of work doing the first Jester. -
Yeah not quite a fan of canopy supports that are too in your view like in the F14 and F1. It's not so bad in the F18 where it's more of an arch only.

Some kind of TALON AI was mentioned before… /topic/329012-no-jester-or-equivalent/#elShareItem_533404213_menu

How to setup CASE II conditions for Super carrier
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Jself's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
I was trying to set up the 3 CASES too for some custom made training missions. But it took me a while to get CASE II. You can have a look at this zip and see if it works for you. Hornet Supercarrier Ops Trg (CASE 123).zip -
I watched Ward Carroll’’s interesting episode on LSO/barricade landing and was wondering if this feature is coming anytime soon.

I had BS2 and bought BS3. I uninstalled BS2. In the Mission Editor bottom right drop down menu, I can select Version 2011 (as opposed to Version 2022). Version 2011 is essentially BS2 except I won't be able to play older campaigns made for BS2 (even with Version 2011) from what I've read.

Bankler's CASE 1 Recovery Trainer
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bankler's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Ok noted with thanks. I have a another question on the scripts though. I noticed the scripts "moose_master.lua", "training.lua" and "TrapTrainingTankerAndAwacsSpawning.lua" are called in the first 3 lines of the ME Triggers set up. I do not have any of these 3 luas but I do have the CTLD and MIST luas in a folder. And the Trigger File Open for the above 3 luas are pointing to that folder. And that seems to make the Bankler's mission work although I don't quite understand how, since the ones in the folder (CTLD and MIST) are different lua file names. -
The closest thing I can think of on YouTube is Bankler's Case 1 Recovery Trainer mission. It doesn't go into what you asked for exactly but there is some 'flying' requirements there.
