  1. HAS has nothing to do with the HTS pod. HAS = HARM-As-Sensor, and only uses the onboard seeker to locate emitters for Direct Attack (no lofting, just straight-line). The HTS pod uses the HAD page (HARM Attack Display) to send targeting commands to the missile.
  2. This is what TOO mode is in the Hornet.
  3. Already reported:
  4. The I-beam is not a CCIP indicator, it is a steering cursor based on the currently selected sight source to point the nose of the helicopter to where the sight source is looking. Rocket employment is described in the manual starting on page 500.
  5. Already reported.
  6. HSI -> DATA -> A/C, look for BLIM (bank limit).
  7. The avionics aren't transmitting steerpoints, it's transmitting coordinate data and filling in the next available slot in the steerpoint allocation. Other F-16s could have different flight plans, so your steerpoint 9 could be different from someone else's. The F-16 sending the data doesn't care what steerpoint is currently selected, it's just sending the location.
  8. The VOR/DME station down there operates at 112.40 MHz. This VOR frequency is paired to the DME channel of 71X (which is what TACAN uses). As an additional example, the VOR/DME station at Beirut is on 112.60 MHz, this would correspond to DME channel 73X, or the VOR/DME station at Larnaca on Cyprus is 112.80 MHz, paired to 75X. Carrier TACAN channels should be selected to avoid existing DME stations in their operating area to avoid confliction.
  9. @BIGNEWY just a quick bump for visibility or acknowledgement.

    No GBU-16?

I dont know the specifics on when the USAF stopped actually using the Mk-83 series, but the Block 50 as-depicted in DCS is representative of a post-CCIP upgrade around 2007.
  11. The tower system is antiquated, and has no ability to provide QNH, however, it's available in the mission briefing.
  12. Ignore QFE callouts from tower, use QNH.

    No GBU-16?

USAF typically doesn't use the Mk-83 series of bombs anymore, that's more of a Navy weapon.
  14. R/BL only requires a TGT point, it doesn't care where it comes from (FLIR, RDR, WPDSG, etc). Fixed point can be used as a way of deconfliction, or attacking from a specified direction without having to place the aircraft on the reciprocal. Remember to take target geometry into account and how far away you might need to be when firing Harpoons, in addition to the speed of the target and its aspect to you. The target may also present a specific threat to you or other assets that closing the distance with your own aircraft isn't possible, which could result in a miss if utilizing BOL. Geography can also play a factor. You could use a Fixed Point to fire Harpoons from behind a mountain or ridge and have the missiles fly out where you want then without having to expose yourself to direct line-of-sight.
  15. @Northstar98 is correct; the B and the late-model A are both MMCAP-upgraded birds, representative of the mid-90s (circa '93~'94 at the earliest). The early-model A is more mid-80s (circa '83~'84 at the earliest).
  16. Check your graphics options for 'Cockpit Displays Resolution.'
  17. Bleed Air knob position shouldn't cause electronic failures, this sounds more like a generator tie problem that one engine isnt supplying power to all electronic buses. Check position of the GEN TIE switch?
  18. Remember to input 10-digit MGRS and not 8. Add an extra 0 to the end of each set.
  19. What he means is that the Hornet in DCS has a TACAN database page in the HSI submenus that is populated with the TACAN stations on the Caucasus map (which IRL doesn't have TACAN stations in Georgia), but not the other maps.
  20. This is correct. The laser is initialized in TRNG mode when the pod is powered up, and must be manually switched to the CMBT laser.
  21. Boresight procedure is the same for all Maverick variants, however boresighting on the ground isn't recommended due to parallax errors.
  22. This is already a thing. At the top row of the ME, go to Customize and select Set Position. You can pull the Type dropdown and select different coordinate formats. The Set Position box can also be moved around.
