Yes bs2 upgrade is a pain although like I said I never had an issue. If its installed and you can fly bs2 should install.A10 should work without a problem. Download the module and see. Anything bought from the dcs store will work without issues aside from bs2 with the upgrade issues. There's usually a very long wait on support tickets. Etherealn is usually good at helping with these types of issues. -

Yes run all dcs products as admin. Its also recommend to be installed in a non program files(c:\program files) directory. I have mine installed in c:\games\dcs. As for the update I'm not sure. With the last sale I went ahead and purchased to full version. It would be bound to your dcs store login or the first user to use it on mp. My bs1 was never on my purchase history though so I can't answer if bs1 is bound to an account. -

Two separate steps. If you run the activation exe(I think protect.exe) in the bin folder there is an option to deactivate. It will give you a hardware key to paste at the end of your serial number(serial:hardware key) to prevent losing an activation. Then in the registry delete the key. A search of the forum should find a post that tells you where it should be. As for the account binding I'm not sure how that works with bs1. I also had the d2d version but never played online. Make sure you run dcs as administrator also. -

maybe try to deactivate, deleting the registry entry, then reactivating. I never had any issues with the upgrade so I dont know if this will help. You can fly a single player mission with no issues? The way I always installed was bs1 then single player instant mission to activate. Then bs2 and haven't had an issue. -
I would also recommend getting larger ram as well. 2x4gb as opposed to 4x2gb so you have space to expand as needed.

System advise for DCS series
pacotito replied to chrischart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I would recommend a k series i5 and definitely a better cooler. The stock cooler with barely cool enough at stock speeds. A great price/performance cooler is the hyper evo 212. A z77 or z87 motherboard to provide overclocking. Also I prefer internal WiFi cards. I've had multiple USB WiFi adapters fail within a year. -

Purchase and download the bs2 upgrade along with dcs world. Bs1 will need to be activated to install. The a10c serial from steam will work just fine for the dcs world module. You could also download both from the module manager within dcs world. I can't comment on combined arms as I haven't purchased that module. If you have the extra $ I would recommend purchasing the full version of bs2 as it eliminates alot of the hassle of installing as the upgrade wont install without bs1 installed and activated. -
The usual minimum recommendation would be a 660ti.

The reports I've been reading...granted they are just expectations...the next line of AMD gpus is going to be far ahead of NVIDIA as they are introducing a new platform as opposed to a rehash. Probably not a titan killer but close. Especially since most non PC exclusive games will most likely be optimized for AMD systems
-
Yeah i would recommend a 770 depending on your budget. I too am looking to upgrade soon but I'm waiting to see what AMD brings later this year.
-
I wouldn't really say they make crap. Its all a matter of budget. The 6770 is a low end video card. What is your budget? Generally the lowest card from nvidia that would be recommended for gaming would be the 660ti or a 7950 from AMD. Also keep in mind that console ports are going to be optimized for AMD CPU and gpu once the ps4 and Xbox one come out. Its already been announced battlefield 4 will be optimized for AMD.
-
Faster CPU or more powerful GPU?
pacotito replied to Thick8's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No a second 6970 wouldn't help as dcs isn't supported by amd/nvidia for crossfire/sli. Dcs is both CPU and gpu bound so the best bang for your buck is Intel/nvidia unfortunately.Since Intel has higher ipc and nvidia seems to work better for dcs. What are you running now? -
According to the natural point forums the pro clip construction has changed making them less fragile. I just got mine about a week ago but it does feel easily breakable. The lower plastic arm has separated on me a couple times but it snaps back together. You can tell if you have a new version of the clip by the color around the led. A white ring is new. A goldish ring is old. http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=56321#Post56321 http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=56092#Post56092

Ok yeah support usually takes a while. Maybe one of the mods will see this and take a look.

Did you get an email confirming your purchase? I'm not saying buy it again. If you did get a confirmation email log in and check history with a different browser. Or clear cookies in the current browser as they have been known to cause website issues. If you didn't get a confirmation email then that sounds like a payment issue and the proper people will need to look into it
-
Yes it should have shown up right away along with a confirmation email. Have you tried a different browser or clearing cookies. If that doesn't work open a support ticket.

The serial will stay in the module manager of the purchaser account regardless if its activated or not. To remove the serial from the manager you have to first deactivate. Then unbind the serial from the account. Finally reactivate with the new serial. This will remove the original serial and attach the new serial. I'm guessing you can not have multiple serials on the same account so you will need a second. Account as in dcs store account. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1785669&postcount=3

You could install from the module manager in dcs world but that might mean slow download speed. The website versions are always a little behind the updates
-
did you by chance install the full version instead of the upgrade
-
Lovac was the drawing winner. Congrats!! enjoy
-
Due to the good response I'm going to have a random drawing to determine who gets the prize. Sometime tonight after I get out of work.
-
I too am going to purchase the full version. So if anyone wants the upgrade version pm me. Also have bs1 with one activation left.
-
Transfer a purchase/serial to someone else
