  1. Got there in the end! :) enjoy.
  2. Steps 1: Uninstall all your DCS stuff. Delete all folders in program files relating to DCS 2: Download the latest version of DCS World from this site. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ 3: Install it to C:\DCS. Or a drive letter of your choice. Make sure DCS is the root folder. 4: Run DCS world once. 5: Download and Install BS1 in to C:\ BS1 Get it from here : http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/previous_versions/dcs_black_shark_english/ 6: Run BS1 using the shortcuts on your desktop. If it asks you to activate, activate it. If it doesn't. Good. If it does ask to activate, then use the serial you got from gamefly. The serial is all that matters. 7: Install BS 2 upgrade after downloading it from here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_black_shark_2_upgrade/ Installing this upgrade should find your DCS World folder, or c:\DCS and should see that you have BS1 installed and activated. WHen running DCS World, activate it your BS2 upgrade using your BS2 upgrade serial. Step 8: Run DCS World. Play. I hope it does work for you. Sorry if I'm not helping. Night!
  3. schroedi might have got my BS1 key now so I'm all out.
  4. Hi, is it possible for me to transfer my BS2 upgrade serial to someone else's account please? If so what would I need to do? Thank you!:)
  5. Upgrade looks to have been taken so there's still the original BS if anyone wants it.
  6. Would ED help me in removing the serials from my account and transferring them to whoever gets them? And yes, who would like the serials? :) I just bought the full BS2.
  7. I always remember hating 60hz CRTs and would always bump it up to 75 or 85 to eliminate that head f*!%.. It surprised me when some people couldn't see that flicker. Does that mean my brain has super l337 FPS? :)
  8. Also, this guy is great at going through a build. Lots of great vids.
  9. Yeh button feels fine to the press but maybe internally there are a few wires going dodgy. If I have time I'll have a look, if it happens again that is. For now I'm thinking reseating the pins on the header might have solved it. how do you use the ones on the mainboard? Explain! :)
  10. Ya know what....I made the power button do nothing, instead o power off/sleep etc... problem solved. Turned on in the midde o the night so I reseated the connections on the mobo and am about to change the setting so the power button now functions. Amazing...what a load o bother for something so simple!!!!! I feel like a right fool Thanks for the help all.. So pleased it's not a big problem.. Now I just got reinstall DCS and music software...Bummer! :helpsmilie:
  11. USER32 Event ID 1074 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/event-id-1074-random-and-unsolicited-system/e3d56904-f758-4b16-959b-47234faf9ccf The process C:\Windows\system32\winlogon.exe (XXXX-PC) has initiated the power off of computer XXXX-PC on behalf of user XXXX-PC\XXXX for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x500ff Shutdown Type: power off Comment: Another link. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1856701 Starting to think of hardware issues again. Just changed the setting for what the power buttons do. GOnna see if it's a faulty wire... very annoying and very strange.
  12. Hmm, not solved... Gonna have to start thinking about pullingthe SSD and installing on a normal HDD...I suspect SSD weirdness...
  13. Yeh if ya need help, here's also good: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=62434
  14. Well...it wasn't sorted until about half an hour ago...At least I think it's sorted.. Seems as if it was a problem with windows update. Found a post with a similar problem and a link from a reply to repair windows update seems to have worked.. Very strange. Anyway, thanks all for the tips! Good on ya! :)
  15. Hmm if I have time to type this.... Shutting down a bit more readily now..Temps fine. Fans fine. Backing up, gonna reinstall... Bollocks! Anyway, need to deactivate DCS stuff now....CAn't find how to do that, it's been a while. I'm wondering if it's SSD issues.
  16. Started last night, I got in, PC off.. This was aboout 3 in the morning. Then all of a sudden I heard it boot up. Some kind of ghost!? So I shut it down...Went to bed, happened again. So I shut it down once more for it to happen again so I turned the switch off at the mains, thought I'll deal with that tomorrow... Turning the system on today and it's already shut down about 5 times, just a normal shut down sequence. closes all programs etc. Strange thing is it sometimes restarts me straight into BIOS. Event viewer says 'The kernel power manager has initiated a shutdown transition.' I've run a malwarebytes scan, and MSE...altho I know I should do a more thorough scan maybe. Any tips of what to use or how to do so would be helpful here. I've cleaned temp folder and prefetch folders but hmpf, I am a little baffled. Right now I've got a strange suspicion that it could be when I run Steam. Not wholly sure but as of yet I haven't logged in and I'm able to post this fine. I just don't know what else to check, really. Of course the random start up last night was seemingly nothing to do with OS. However I checked wake on features in BIOS, all disabled. Any ideas?
  17. Sad news.:(
  18. Great paint job, thor. How do you get the graduation between camo colours? I used to love making models about 20 years ago and rwecently bought a jaguar XK 150 model for my dad as he owns the real thing but am yet to start it. Have a revell air brush somewhere but haven't got into it. Want to, though. To take my mind off things. Might see if I can find a good model of a Huey or summit.
  19. What you currently using?
  20. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-017-SA heard only good things about these. V low profile and v overclockable. price has gone down some 20 quid so I'm tempted to replace mine as the corsair stuff I have just sits a little too close to my heat sink and fan. With those I'd have no issues and wouldn't mind overclocking them quite high as others have. http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/samsung_green_ddr3_8gb_1600mhz_30nm_review,1.html
  21. Not sure. but ya might want to consider putting something like a 660ti or better a 670 in that rig. Otherwise ypu're looking at full on change of CPU and Mobo.. Using an SSD will help with windows feeling a lot more responsive and games loading a bit quicker but that's it. It's really nice tho not having to wait for things to install or load, even just loading waterfox up is instantaneous. Loading DCS is a lot quicker than it used to be.
  22. Lol...I followed this thread the other day....I just thought I'd point out to Maximus that yes, you are indeed impatient. ;) ( I smiled when I saw you ask about paypal working but did it anyway before anyone replied!) Glad all's well!
  23. not the next Andre Kertesz ;)
