Are we heading towards a sim that have eastern units upgraded to todays theoretical capacity, and western units at useless standard? You might just as well close the shop, and go home. No point in a DCS F-18 that can fly all day sending hundreds of missiles, that won't hit anything, exept defenseless trucks. From what I can read here, nobody seem to understand how useless this sim is becoming. Exept for spoiled russian kids, they just love this :)

Advanced Flight Model - (AFM). What actually is it?
Buzpilot replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Could be 'likely', but we don't really know, If the ailerons still worked, it would be possible to land, but I doubt ailerons would work if outer parts of wings is missing too. -

I'm not with you, you call a successful landing without wings, AFM? -
Could not find this problem on the bug list, but it has been mentioned elsewhere, so I'll post it here too. The A-10A Maveric can't Lock anything at all outside a 8 mile range, more like in the 5-6 range, like it used to be in LockOn FC. I suspect all the different missiles in DCS now, possibly get overwritten by older FC3 ones now. If you have it installed.

From what i can see, the 'Tunguska' we use here, is the same one from LockOn 1.0, and has nothing to do with M1 or Pantsir. And even 'small' Cruise missiles have bigger radar cross section flying across, and not directly towards the Tunguska. Just because a weapon is capable to shoot down a thing, doesn't mean it can in any situation.
-
If the Maveric is launched towards the same Tunguske shooting it Down, it's very stretched, and i doubt there's any documentation on it at all, remember it's only the diameter of the Maveric that show on radar, not much more than a bird. Edit; One more thing, the Maverics in A-10A can't even Lock outside a 8 mile range, are they just dumbed down?

Do you need to update every time a new addon gets released? I noticed my Huey don't produce acmi files, online. Edit; I can find all on single player, but online was empty.

With Autoupdate?

Got mine 2.

Huey buy link active now! https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/shop.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en Edit; Nice, downloaded in 4 min 11 sec!

I agree, this is not a civil sim, that would need a premade landingplace. Or maybe a Caterpilar 613C-II in ME, to make a new FARP, a CH-47 is able to transport it in 2 sections , or in a C-130 drop.

Looking at the TWS tutorial, I went a little confused about the Slammer, doesn't that only mean Surface Launched Active Missile? (8:40 in tutorial)

Dust trails and weapon discharge smoke too dense
Buzpilot replied to Highwayman-Ed's topic in Bugs and Problems
A extreme example of dust thrown up with no wind. So it's possible but hardly happening in fields. -
Could be I remember it wrong but I imagine I should only hover the TDC to get tracking to show on Hud, atm I need to use lock, and it changes to narrow seeker on Radar, to show on Hud . Edit; Think I have to reread the manual :)
-
Using STT, TWS don't seem to work atm. I asumed the stronger echo from radar made it harder to break, but then this means the semiactive missiles too should break easy, is that implemented in the sim? (when missile go active, and enemy has turned away)

Watching Jetstream Ep.4, I made a intercept mission to train similar mission with the F-15C. But when I turn in and close up about 3-5 miles away a Tu-142 that I put in, manage to unlock my radar by beaming, is that supposed to be possible? Mission starts about 8 min into this episode. Great! I guess I haven't noticed, not used the cannon for a while now.

If i got it right, the vehicle damage model will still continue to stay boxed. I dream about perfect damage models where a hit in a hatch could be fatal, but it's probably still a long way to go, even for CA. But a simpler model could maybe be possible? If we have shells calculating both vertical and horizontal angle of impact on a boxed shape, it could at least be possible to simulate the weaker roof on armored vehicles by giving extra damage on high vertical direct hits. Also deflection hits could be simulated, by factoring less power on low angle hits. Bigger HE shells that would be able to penetrate could also have even more blast power if they hit top side from a high vertical angle. And maybe possible by using core 2 or 3?

OMG multitargeting at 1:00, never seen that in use.

TDC slew in A-10A moving random direction to begin with, is still here. The range to lock seem too short too, but it's hard to tell when TDC moves so randomly on short moves. The track shows basicly the first target is hard to slew and lock, the next ones go smoother because i'm inside lock range. Used Hotas slew, saturated to 20. TDC slew A-10A bug.trk

Using larger gun, I see it's just that it's almost impossible to destroy that chopper, but I can confirm it's not using flares while radar missiles are in air and tracking. Uploading CA mission with my SAM test range, and a new track. SAM Test Mission.miz Evading Tank chopper.trk

You can also still use 'c' to warp from on a bridge to below it, just watch out if there's ground to land it on :)

I'm using Stingers (Avenger), while a Hawk system also tracking the chopper, maybe unable to react on both types at the same time.
