What kind of stuff do i need to play DCS properly?
urze replied to Mip...'s topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
This goes to all and not only to Skipper. I'm watching this thread with high interest. And when you see my webpage and some of my posts you can imagine that I could easily fill pages about the pros and contras of different controllers and setups. (But this is something I want to do in long Winter nights) But one thing I want to say: After I used a HOTAS for the first time (X36) I was infected. I can not imagine to life without it (read as:In front of the Gaming Rig) . Its the same with Multimonitoring - Headtracker - Rudderpadels - Collective - FFB .....ect. What I want to say is there is always something better and It is very, very hard to decide what will give you the most fun/immersion. As I wrote : Everything has it pros/contras. After I have added FFB to the X52 I thought that this is near 'perfect' , but now I stick to the Cougar (I love the Grip with it's Buttons), every other stick will feel like a Cheap Toy after you get used to the solid Metal. (I don't want to speak about the mechanic of the stick..). Now I have to add FFB that is strong enough to hold a 1kg stick in every position. The same with the rudder: Ater I get used to FFB at the stick I had to ad it to the paddles (FFB-Steering wheel+Saitek pro rudders -yes you can call me nuts!) and so on.... There is no perfect Setup out there but you can easily enhance your simulation experience with some simple modifications. Start with a ergonomic position - mount your inputs directly on your Chair/ place the Stick between your legs... This step alone will boost your flying skills more than a fancy stick 20cm in front of a 17" monitor on a 70cm high table. Hope you get my point. Edit: Merged some Typos - Now it should be better to read. I should not eat, write in English and telephone in German at the same time! -

No - It's just a Simulation. Don't worry- nobody will get wet or struck by lightning when you run it at home. -

Many thanks Kuky! -
I believe (when I remember it right) the mode is called "TABRIS". Seen Some Torrents long ago - and many of them contained a very nasty Virus that will turn the KA-50 in Bot that generates Spam-mails (via Data-Link): Mainly advertising "P***S enlargement tools" like this- :dunno:
-
Its a Blue Screen of Death. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Screen_of_Death It happens very often when you try to use the ABRIS in way it wasn't designed to operate. So don't mess around with it! (Don't take this post too serious ;) )

But you can see Black Shark soon in Lelystad/Netherlands : -
Don't worry- he got his rep also:). But it's nice to see that you could investigate your time in trying these things out - I did it some time ago and I know how time consuming (and frustrating) this could be. Keep it up. This has so much potential to enhance the overall ambiance during a mission.

Great Find DarkWanderer! -rep inbound The ultimate thing would be if we could control these listed values with the 'LockOn Gui Configurator'. Similar to the SunLightColor adjustment with a little preview. So that we are able to set up the 'Atmospheric conditions' before we launch LockOn. (Edit: ) or a tested Set of good looking adjustments -instead messing around with Modman and the editor.

I want to indicate you that I have a 'special offer' of the collective lever at my site.

DCS: Black Shark English Key Command List and HOTAS assignments
urze replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
OK some descriptions are still missing but if you compare it with the layout below you should be able to guess the missing descriptions. And you have a good brainteaser. :) -
Hi SuperKungFu, I unfortunately have no solution to get your wished achievement but I can tell what Mitch did. He chanced only a four-line block at the and of this four files: >Lock On\Bazar\Effects\SKY: - sky_basic.dat - sky_new.dat - skyfog_b.dat - skyfog_v.dat Scroll to the end of any of them and you will find this block: For example: Mitch changed them in "SkyColorMod 1.2 thunderstorm 03" to this in all four files. Nothing more and nothing less. And I have no clue how to control these values and no time to try it out. Maybe someone else can do it.

DCS: Black Shark, Russian Version has gone gold
urze replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks for your clarification. And so what? Should someone send you a nearly finished manual because it would be enough for you? (no need to answer my question.) Black Shark isn't in the Shelfs and people behave like EagleDynamics owe them something. :( Sorry when it sounds a bit harsh. But after reading some of previous posts where people are hammering the same questions on and on and probably without taking the time to read carefully the first post of Wags - I'm just a little upset. -
What kind of stuff do i need to play DCS properly?
urze replied to Mip...'s topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
@Skipper Please read all steps carefully again. What I've described is a transplantation of all Stick elements (that are required for a proper function) to the base of the throttle. The Outcome is a X45 throttle without the Stick but a USB connection and still programmable. -
