  1. A too low axis resolution and inaccurate(jumpy) FFB. Also a unacceptable great deadzone for helicopter use. edit: and I tested the Sick extensively.... If you want a FFB that produces more joy than frustration - you have to look out for a MS Sidewinder FFB. Please open the next time questions about controllers in the Cockpits and HOTAS or the PC Hardware Section. (I think it's not only me who have difficulties to track the forum these days.)
  2. (@ kuky, found the thread!;)) Hi Rapier, its possibility in FC -please read posts above - all information is there! When everything works- you only have to higher you view position (LOCFG can do it without editing the Lua files manually) But it is a mystery to me why you want do something like this in FC instead of using the monitor for displaying the instruments.... ...but I can't understand everything ;) Ah.. I maybe got it:doh: you want to do it with BlackShark and not Flaming Cliffs. Right?! -In this case you should read my first post again!
  3. Will ask Bob the next days but, I think it's not the"Über" system you might expect. I want also to drop some images (Thanks to Zorlac for support!) and I want to thank all people -Espacially Carol and Bob and also the Yorkies(!) for the warm Welcome in Bristol! I had a really great time... Lets start wit the FXS-Party at Sat: Here you can see Jim and me (we both 'Again' ;) discussing about a set-up that will fit to people that never flew a helicopter before...;) ) Jim and me flying -and Yes! - when you once sat on a D-Box system it's hard to go home and enjoy it like you did before... What?! You don't know what I'm talking about?! - wait a sec... found the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL9dLB_5dT0 There where these moments when Jim looked with glance and a smile on the screens while other where flying... I think not only because Jim has such a great humour - no - I believe because he sees that a Idea has become reality. (thanks to all how are working so hard to make this happen!) I'm at "work": (BTW: don't you also think I should cut my hair for the first time in seven years ?! ... maybe I will open a poll.... ;) ) And this was also very nice (look at the water!): It was a really great day! Of course it was not as big as "The E3" , but It had it's own charm and I got In touch with many people I wouldn't be able to talk in this depth on a bigger show. Hope you got my point. Thank you BoB for this grat event! (And make sure the bar is next year open up to the end!:megalol: ) But it ended not at Saturday night for me ... Look what I did on Sunday! This is what I call a Playground! : Bob took me to the : Many thanks to Alex for his time to give us a "special" tour ! And as every nice nice days had to come to an end, so did our....(..like also for some of this brave great birds...) Of course I have much more pictures and also some Vids . I will shift them over the Holidays and Do a special report about the Museum on my site...:) See you next year at the RC-Simulations FSX-Party!
  4. Thanks Why forever?! - I'm working on it.... Copied!
  5. And I have to say that the X52 or -Pro is the best none FFB stick out there. I talk of the precision and spring tension/mechanic of the base. I will not talk about the design of the handle- and colors of the LED,s ... -The spring tension is absolute smooth and linear in every position -The spring force works after the inner mechanics of the X and Y axis and gives the friction direct to the handle and works not like in the CH Fighter Stick over the inner mechanics and then to the Handle. This Is a huge advantage for a reliable re-centering,lifetime of the inner parts. So you can use the hall sensors (No direct moving parts like potis- they measure a magnetic field) without the need of a Dead zone. Perfect for controlling a sensitive Helicopter. PS: I want to point out that I have no relationship or contracts with Saitek! It's just the most precise stick out there for affordable money CH and Thrustmaster use 2 springs- one for each axis. So if you move the their Sticks from the left to the upper right (for instance) the force of the stick will be twice that big. And This could lead to a not so precise movement. My mods are made to (merge this disadvantage of the cougar and also) give you a more ergonomic and enjoyable position if you use it between your legs. And as side effect you will have , caused of the extra throw, a much more precise control. Edit: Sorry for the advert but I'm telling you only the truth... :)
  6. Sorry to hijack this thread! very soon... I turned the base 180° that I'm able to reach the Triggers even If the stick is between (Please no funny meant replys! ;) ) my legs. After that you have to inverse the axis in game- so there is no problem at all in doing that.
  7. ...this and only 11 instead of 15 cables to extend ;).
  8. This is not quite right, you don't need a "super system". It's all about the right combination and components... You can get it for less than 1000€ if you want. And Vista don't allows "Span Modes" because of DRM - so if you want to have The Game view/Abris/Shkval on a second(third) monitor, Matrox's solution is the only way to go on systems with Vista up to now.
  9. ... really hard to track all topics these days... But this Is such a good Sign!:) I see many new "Faces" here and I want to say "Welcome on board" to all new Members! ...and I know that so many are watching these pages without being signed... Don't be Shy!:D- Step in and make yourself heard... This is something that makes me personally very happy and also gives me a good feeling that I'm doing the right things - even If some of my closest social contacts think "He's going absolute Banana!". - I'm also very happy that I had the pleasure to talk with some of you the last months in person on some Shows and over Phone/Skype. And this makes this "Hobby" even more alive! I think we are at the beginning of a "Golden Decade" when talking about Flight simulation and the possibilities that we have now and will follow so soon. (just watch this Video to get a idea about what I'm talking ;)) Thanks to the staff of ED and all who are investing so much time in this. And I would be also pleased to talk with you at the FSX Party in Bristol/UK at the 29th November. Hope you get my point, this is something that I just had to ditch here. BTW: And please understand If I don't answer every of your PM's and Mails I got the last Time - I read them all! I would like to advice you to post your questions and helpful suggestions on the related section of this board. Here are many people with such a great knowledge around that can sure help you out and also discuss your Ideas with you . Cheers and see you soon, Urze
  10. No- The collective needs steady readjustment every time you change your flightpath. And there are too many factors to calculate: Pitch,Yaw,Turn...Atmospheric changes (wind). Keep in mind that If you have more than 2 factors to calculate, chaos-theory steps in and says :"HELLO!". And giving the collective a new "centre"(or however you want call it) every time you trim would be too confusing.
  11. If you want that the toe brake work in a "analogue" way instead only "on and off": Add a band every 10% and put in a macro with the W-key. Start with a long delay at 10%: press only 0,01 sec every 0,3 sec and end at a steady press at 100% So it will be most realistic for the non Russian fighters. keep in mind that Russian fighters use a Analogue brake at the stick.(they don't have a toe brake) I use the twist grip of the X52 to simulate this with a similar macro in the bands like describe above.
  12. Thanks for all your effort to make This alive and true! Edit:Where are the Web banners?;)
  13. Thanks Jim, for putting me in a bright light...:) But you all should point your Eyes on the Set-up from RC-Simulations (click the image): So - you can hardly see what's so fantastic about the D-Box on a picture. ... I will fill this gap in the next Two days: Video is on the way! Stay tuned! Edit: The Video is on line ! Thanks to Bob from RC Simulations for the raw video and to all involved Companys for their approval! (OK... there are no buttons on the collective and there is also no Touch screen, not to speak about the fact that there are 'only' 3 screens ...,but this is a subject to change!:D) So if you can make it to the show - don't hesitate!
  14. sorry if i dident made this clear before: Wehn i use a plain none ffb stick you can press and hold the trim button -while holding - bring it back to the spring center - than release the button - and you are fine. This need a little practice but you have not the above described issue with this methode. The trim is than put to the neutal position of your x52. Hope this is understandable. (will edit this post when i get my hands on a normal keybord/display. This post is writen on a iPhone)
  15. Nice Feuerfalke, I think they broadcast some (all?) of their shows From Berlin- So no problem for me to visit them with a "suitcase full off gadgets" and they could plug out their gamepads for 15min...:)
  16. Imagine this extreme but not absolute unusual Situation: You are hit! -Autopilot works not reliable for a stable hover. -Automated target tracking isn't working (lets say sensors are covered with dirt/oil and whippers are broken) But there is this bad guy between these buildings in the street. And you know that he has the trigger for the explosives under the bridge, that leads the convoy, that you are protecting in save area. (BTW. a scenario you could easily build with the Mission editor including the trigger for the explosives :)) So you have to pinpoint the whole airframe to that guy while hovering between buildings... Do you really want a shaking stick while shooting in this situation? ...thats why there is no FFB implemented for additional effects like shooting.
  17. OK- I try again. No and yes No: the Evo (and also the Logitech Force) are not accurate enugh for this task - It would create more frustration than joy. Yes: Well implemented FFB is always the better option against a plain stick. Dark Wanderer answered this question completely.
  18. Hi, It has been already answered the last 3 days. Here:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=561710#post561710 and Here:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33320 Use please the search function ! No offense - only honest words: A forum is not only there to post questions - sometimes you have to read.:) OK- I know it for sure- I started the Threads.. ...but they are on the same site only some posts away where you started this thread. Not precise enough (at least for me) and not enough space for the electronics of the X52 in its base.
  19. But to be honest - Most of us here in the forum would even get closer to the runway to have a better view!:music_whistling: :P
  20. IMHO Even If i would tell yo how to edit this. It would be easier with a 5€ Gampad in your left hand than trying this with a keyboard.
  21. Sorry! Just wait for the F-16! Or: Hopefully you have covered all of the old interior of the base and than you should be able to do some crazy stuff I did with force feedback. And you are still able to use the Stick handle only by plunging some cables. And mounting it just on a other Stick. Edit again: Wait!- you can do my things without the old interior.
