  1. DCS maps itself are great, I just wish they would use generic textures/tiles made from highres orthos (Some mods do). The way its now, it looks obvious hand-painted and gives it a cartoonish look. Dont get me wrong, its nice as is. Its just not on par with the other photorealistic stuff in game.
  2. Jitter is gone but now there is shimmering in the distance, wich I find way more distracting. Ultra is no option for me. Any workarounds on this?
  3. I think its by design to keep frames high. Sill looking cool though. For sure will improve along with cloud shadows.
  4. That would be very nice. VR only when needed, and handy to avoid those jittering loading-screens with steam vr. Works well in msfs.
  5. Fantastic Mod!!! A big thanks to all involved. Should be officially backed by ED.
  6. When I disconnect my Trustmaster RX300 Wheel, DCS loads just fine. Not having this behavior prepatch. Please have a look into this. Im not the only one it seems. Regards, Marcel
  7. Since the last update, I cant start DCS anymore. Never ever happend to me in my long DCS carriere. Never had any problem with an update. Seems its trying to open a track-file? I have done a complete openbeta reinstall inclusive deleting the user-folder. Still get that same crash. Submited the crash-log earlier. Here is a sample on whats going on before the crash: Any ideas? 2020-11-04 16:25:18.471 INFO DCS: G:\DCS World\bin\webrtc_plugin.dll, 6255616 bytes, created 4:11:2020-16.4.22, written 4:11:2020-16.4.22, accessed 4:11:2020-16.25.19 2020-11-04 16:25:18.471 INFO DCS: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\msdmo.dll, 34600 bytes, created 7:12:2019-9.8.7, written 7:12:2019-9.8.7, accessed 4:11:2020-16.25.19 2020-11-04 16:25:18.471 INFO DCS: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dhcpcsvc6.DLL, 73216 bytes, created 16:10:2020-19.11.58, written 16:10:2020-19.11.58, accessed 4:11:2020-16.25.19 2020-11-04 16:25:18.471 INFO DCS: try to write track file 2020-11-04 16:25:18.472 INFO DCS: 'C:\Users\marce\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dcs.20201104-162518.crash' deleted successfully 2020-11-04 16:25:18.523 INFO DCS: 'C:\Users\marce\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dcs.20201104-162518.dmp' deleted successfully 2020-11-04 16:25:18.523 WARNING DCS: track file empty 2020-11-04 16:25:18.523 WARNING DCS: mission file empty 2020-11-04 16:25:21.359 INFO DCS: dxdiag.exe /64bit /whql:off /t "C:\Users\marce\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dxdiag.txt" 2020-11-04 16:25:26.559 INFO DCS: 'C:\Users\marce\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dxdiag.txt' deleted successfully 2020-11-04 16:25:26.564 INFO DCS: failed to open 'C:\Users\marce\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\voice_chat.log' for reading === Log closed. 8. Same here. I bought the Anton Campagne and wanted to up my skills before playing it in a realistic manner. Im aware this is not IL2, but having no chance at all against the AI is not realistic either. My flight gets butchered in no time without any losses to the other side no matter wich enemy planes. If I do the same mission in a Jug, I got shot down by the Antons regularly. Seems like the AI has always the perfect edge and perfect situational awarness. Hope this can be improoved along with the new damage-model. Cant imagine how hard it is for a Campagne creator to get the balance right. Still lots of fun to learn and fly this classics.
  9. Its proprietary tech, so why bother at all. Kind a like physx. If its becomung standart for ALL, better today than tomorrow, I agree...
  10. My VRAM gets flushed on this map regularly in VR. Not happening with other maps. I have to quit DCS to free the VRAM and usually reboot the os to get performance back.
  11. I also have a Cosmos with IPD set at 65.2 (my rl ipd). So in theory, matching the numbers should enforce realworld size? Im a bit confused here. After all VR is about sitting in a accurate sized cockpit in a accurate scaled world. So what is correct now, regardless if I FEEL is correct or not? I could imagine the size of a car cab, but not the size of a cramped Mig21 pit.
  12. Maybe have a look at the monitor calibration. I have mine calibrated for design-work, means full range of grays visible and colors matched for sRGB-standart. I use gamma 2.2 in sim and can see all letters clearly. In fact P-47s cockpit looks perfect and older warbirds look very washed out inside. Kind of vise-versa to youre experience.
  13. It says that keypoints are historically correct. And they are. The rest for sure is made from todays OSM data an such, therefore houses in places where there should be rural area. Its not possible to do a map this size only by pure handywork. It will be tweaked and updated over time. It catches the mood of the english countryside quite well IMHO. Details are nice but way to overrated. The overall picture is very well done. And that counts for me.
  14. Do the assets have timestamps, so they are only present in the correct time period? If so, it would not be a problem to have coldwar-style missions as well. Just set the correct date in the editor.
  15. The map is stunning to say the least, but ED has gone over the top with this IMHO. I mean I love detailed scenery where it belongs, but this is just to a tad to much. Fully modelled backyards make cool advertisements sure, but are showstoppers even with beefy systems. Less is more in that case. Still love it very much. Keep the optimisation coming. Thank you ED.
  16. While the assets and the detail of this map are outstanding and over the top, the general view from the air is very steril imho. It has mostly to do with the razor-sharp edges of the landclass plygones. If some sort of blending and random spread at the edges could be achieved, it would look more natural and less like google map. Other than that: fantastic work, thank you very much. Flying a P-47 over this landscape is a young boys dream come true...
  17. Thank you for the info. I see with joy that this fantastic module still getting some love from the devs. Much appreciated.
  18. For me its on par with the famous F14 despite of its age. Would be nice to get a little love from the devs here and there. Or at least some info that they are still out there and developing...
  19. Im running from a M2 drive and loading-time from hitting start to the mainmenue is roughly three times as much as with 2.55. From there its slightly slower loading a module. Once in the 3d-world its roughly the same as pre-patch.
  20. I have my monitor calibrated for design-work and daylight @ 6500K. DCS lighting during the day was just fine before the patch at a gamma of 1.8 (2.0 is the default i think). First impression after patch with the same settings is that noon or daylight in general is to washed out now. Or has too much bloom, I dont know. I have to dial back gamma to 1.6 for comparable results before patch. But then, the pits are too dark in the shadow areas, middletones about right highlights are to washed out. Its a shame, because I thinks DCS had allready one of the most real environments during daylight. Now its a step to much IMHO. Hope it gets further tuned...
  21. I have always wondered why there are no aircraft-states under the cheat menue: cold and dark, ready for taxi, ready for take off etc. Im not always in the mood for a full startup or have the time to even let the macro do its thing. Lot of nice scenarios require a lengthy startup before the fun part starts. States would come in handy while its still possible to do the full thing.
  22. Second that! Almost impossible to get and lock contacts in BVR after the update. Wheras ACM Boreside locks even well outside the circle !? And the modul was no more listed in the main menue despite the files still in place. I had to delete and reinstall. Never happend to me before with a module. Maybe something got screwd up during the latest distribution. Its still one of my favorites. :joystick: Marcel
  23. I would like to see a mapping wich has the function of the real thing: A 3-state switch is a 3-state switch on my hotas. Eg: Mastermodes AG / NAV / AA. Or a toggle in RL is a toggle insim: AP on/off, etc. Of course this is not always possible and there has to be possibilities for non hotas user as well. However, in general it would be a nice approach. Thanks for youre hard work, Marcel
  24. Great campagne. Love the immersion flying with a big bomber-pulk. Well done. However Im not sure, if this is campagne-related or DCS in general: My wingman ignore me as a leader. They will not join the formation when told so. They just fly happily a view miles behind me an the other flights. They will not catch up with the bombers and wave with me, nor will they do anything when the action starts. They will even ignore a FW190 wich is chasing me and flies right in there middle. Back on the homefield, they will not RTB and eventually ramming me on final. Any tipps on how to handle the own wing? Wrong channels maybe?. The coms are greyed out, but the voiceovers work.
