  1. It's been a long wait. I had to go into my profile and check my Kickstarter pledge to see if I picked the Spitfire as one of my planes. And I confirmed I did...now just waiting for the download to be available and the key to show up in the list. That will be a great day indeed! So for now the waiting continues.
  2. So 400% is a big win. That's great! Looking forward to seeing this from the cockpit... Makes me wonder just how much there is left to do to get to the great "unification"... Oh I know... by the end of the year...but the wait is quite agonizing. Maybe the Museum Relic would help me pass the time...hmmm ok, I'll buy it and I guess that means I'm adding another little jet to my hangar that otherwise I would not have bought. :pilotfly:
  3. "Soon" "In the coming weeks" " later this year" "by the end of 2016"
  4. I'll do a walk around, do a cross country flight, a little target practice along the way. A bit of aerobatics to see how she handles, land at my destination, refuel, rearm and do it again on the way back to my point of departure. Land, a perfect flight!...no issues right? I'll report back on how it goes...
  5. Cool...IMO I do not see the need to simulate track damage and destruction. Damage to the trains and the visual effects are what matters and will provide the desired results. (BTW...I'm a fan of secondary explosions and shockwaves where appropriate)
  6. I remember flying some missions near El Hotovo a couple of years ago in My A10C and strafeing trains. There were some nice explosions when I hit tank cars. Some cars and engine just turned black and looked burned out when hit. I haven't tried this in ages. Hope the explosion effect hasn't changed. Damage modeling on the train cars/engine (nice explosions and fire) is an important feature if we are so passionate about trains in Our WWII Map. If you hit a steam engine, it would be nice to see that big steam cloud release when the boiler is hit. I'll have to target some trains tonight and see if anything has changed from what I remember. In the mean time, anyone know what the current state is? Screens?
  7. And hopefully that will change...... "SOON!"
  8. Don't be afraid of multiplayer. You will meet some great people there who are more than willing to help and teach you. That will certainly accelerate your experience factor. Welcome! :pilotfly:
  9. Thanks! Appreciate your guides! <S>
  10. RIP None of us are guaranteed a tomorrow in this fragile life. <S>
  11. Hook, yup. Hard to resist pushing that button staring you in the face. My way of cockpit/aircraft familiarization. Sure I'll avoid the flat spin. I was just pushing the envelope to see what she would/would not do. Now I know...thanks for the advice. LOL! Manual! "I don't need no fricken manual!" "Kick the the tires and light the fires!" "Request takeoff"
  12. Might have missed something (very likely) but once the tail hook is lowered, I cannot raise it. Also found it impossible to recover from a flat spin. I'll try again tonight.
  13. Problem viewing document
  14. No issues here with Win10. But after install be sure to go out and get your own drivers for your card. During install Win10 loaded an older version.

    DCS: F-5E!

Goodness to come in the "Coming Weeks". No sooner, no later.
  16. Really nice Mike B. I can relate to this as you have certainly captured "that feeling". <S>
  17. Sure I understand all of that. The fun thing about the old ladder was actually the flying of the scenarios. That was fun. Stats didn't matter so much unless you wanted to make Colonel or higher.
  18. Sometimes it's hard to be but yep...raised in Greenville, ECU Grad. I noticed they give rides in some aircraft like the Stearman. Also, the P51 had a backseat passenger. I wonder if it is possible to get a ride in Double Trouble Too? I think I will inquire.
  19. By all means post em up! Thanks for sharing.
  20. Thanks for the heads up on this. I did not know it was there either. I will check it out. Ummm Go Pirates! LOL!
  21. Ah very similar...got it covered then! My SA is very poor! But I always liked the old Ladder System with those 3 Scenarios. Kudos to Shahdoh and Company!
  22. Best Fighter Jock? Some like competition, some do not. For those that do... You need a ladder like we had in that certain F16 Sim. Kind of surprised there hasn't been one yet for DCS. If there ever was...I missed it. Goes like this or some similar iteration. For 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 (Team) Separate Ladders for singles and teams. Same aircraft with same load out. You run three scenarios three times each. 2 out of three wins each scenario. Winner is the pilot or team that takes 2 of the three scenarios. Missions could be created for the 3 scenarios. Scenarios: 1. Guns Only: Start Airborne head to head at Angels 15 at 15 nm. No firing until after 1st pass. If no kill and You run out of fuel, crash or land first you lose if the opponent is still flying. 2. 2x IRs and Guns: same as 1. Free Pass 3. 2X IRs, 2X Radar Guided and Guns: start Airborne head to Head at Angels 25 at 25 nm. No Free Pass. Anything goes. Can become cat and mouse and take awhile. Would be great if a Virtual Squad or an individual would Sponsor, take this on and track stats. Or even ED. The way it worked was wins earned you rank. You could challenge anyone with your rank or a rank one step above yours. A certain criteria (wins) would earn your rank. That is how you ascend the ladder. This was a blast back in the day of that certain sim.
  23. For those that like that kind of thing.
