  1. Yes you need both...what pilot worth his wings would not want to fly the Spitfire!!!
  2. Why not? Sometimes when doing casual flying and siteseeing in "props" I fly with the canopy cracked open. And on takeoff and landing. I have seen films of many WWII Pilots doing the same (probably so they could make a quick exit if necessary). I enjoy the engine sounds and wind buffeting in that config. Whatever happens to trip your trigger or float your boat is fair game and individual preference. So no, these are not WWI aircraft. Some just need to get out of the "box" and explore/enjoy the subtleties. So yeah you bet I will crack that canopy open on my Spit when I shake her down. I want to hear that baby purrrr!!! :pilotfly:
  3. Lets see...i have my Spitfire key in the WWII Kickstarter section. I have the FW 190, the Spitfire and the Normany Map all for the small sum I donated. What a great deal for that price. Id just like to thank ED for making this all good. Kudos to them! Cant wait til Dec 16th to put the Spit through its paces. Hopefully, Normandy drops not too long after! <S>
  4. I have the optimistic view The Normandy map will expand. Many want BoB which is great but I would also like to see Late war areas like Italy and Germany. I would love escorting the Bomber missions to Berlin with a P51 from Italy bases with all the goodness in between.
  5. And why would you do that?
  6. December 16th
  7. That's good news! 4 + more weeks shall be a painful stretch.
  8. That's great news and Congrats on Retirement! <S>
  9. This happens often when Gamers try a Developing Simulation and expect a Game.
  10. Yes but walk you will and very slowly.
  11. Hmmm I could be wrong...but how could ground units usually painted in camouflage or olive drab and dull be better seen by reflection when the purpose is to actually make them less visible? This doesn't make sense to me.
  12. Many need to chill...we don't need to suggest to ED how they should run development or their business. A lot of gnashing of teeth over nothing we can control. Maybe Comms could be improved...but until it happens, it is what it is.
  13. Thanks for sharing...enjoyed watching this one.
  14. Looks great...I appreciate all the good work going into DCS!!! Just keeps getting better bit by bit.
  15. +1 for the North Arrow on the Maps...All of them.
  16. Anyone have a video or screens from the flights?
  17. Yep have seen it...timely for Halloween though!
  18. SSD would be a good idea as well.
  19. I like it better without the side skirts. The top line of the track is much more visually appealing. I say no...don't need no girly skirt that makes it look like a toy even in IRL.
  20. Did not know that...guess I missed something...thanks for the info. Then it might be possible Normandy comes in before the revamped Caucuses? <S>
  21. All you need for the Hornet Module is DCS World. SoH could come much later, which is ok by me! So it could drop anytime on its own.
  22. "DCS: Spitfire LF Mk IX and the Normandy map, and both are, or will be soon, going into internal test! This is always a good sign that we are approaching an Early Access release." Thinking out loud...Hmmm...So if this is true, it stands to reason 2.5 has to be near early access as well since we need 2.5 for the map access. No one wants another separate install and I doubt ED would be considering that.
  23. +1. Sure, I'll buy a ticket for the Optimism Train!
  24. Not a bad update. 64 days left in 2016. Would love to see it all come through. But as we know... "E.I.S.T.C". With no mention of SoH...must be on the back burner until all this is sorted. But YAY anyway! Thanks for the update!
  25. Agree with extended Fall Sale/Halloween Sale... Witch on a Broom in AB. Too Funny... With low expectations...anything else is a bonus.
