Just hit 65. Janes Fighters Anthology started it for me..It had Multiplayer and appealed to me because I would be flying with and against humans ..WOW! Ummm on Dial-Up....LOL! Thats where I met my squadmates. Four of us still fly together after 19-20 years. The difference from where we started to what we have know is pretty amazing and makes me appreciate ED for making it happen. <S> To ED, you guys are my heros! An actual age poll could be revealing. Im thinking the avg age is the older set. My Dad was a WWII Vet. He was Navy in the South Pacific. Saw action at Okinawa with Kamakazis hitting his ship. Uncles were Navy, Army and USAAF and saw action in Burma, Italy, France and Germany.

Why i deserve this? For Christian! I need this to set up my grandson on a PC so I can show him the ropes and teach him to fly with me..he is only 4.. its never too early to get started! Maybe this be could be the start of an aviation career for him! <S>

After start up...take off trim..taxi out to the runway...take a deep breath...contemplate and execute a perfect take off...and once airborne and up to a good altitude, put her though her paces getting the feel for how she handles...then enter landing pattern and config...and execute a perfect landing...taxi to parking and shut her down. Piece of cake! In my dreams!

Using a 55" Plasma TV for last 4 years...could never go back to a little monitor. Zero problems with latency. Like the idea of a big curved screen. Thats on my list. Probably a 60" Some are doing 4k. There are some threads about 4k and curved around. Just search a little.

If you can afford a rental server in a data center...well the cost of a map is not that much. So I can do the same thing at home with a second PC. I would not expect a free copy just because I run a dediserv. Its great these servers run 24/7 with missions for all to enjoy. Surely everyone appreciates that. Ive seen orgs take donations to defray the cost of servers etc. maybe a webpage that accepts donations would be helpful to help pay down cost and purchase the maps...

Go...just treat it as a delicate instrument...Ive always thought that those who complain about the construction were those that didnt take care...its not for your average Klutz!

Kinda like flying Kites...if i wanted to fly kites it would be RoF...but no, that lasted about 2 months for me and only because squadmates wanted to piddle with it. Could not stand moving that slow for very long. DCS is on Good path...cant see WWI being done.
