  1. All I want to do is kill the Dora in the Fast Mission. So far no luck, as soon as he gets on my tail, its a losing game. Anyone have any tips on how to proceed when facing the Fw-190 form an initial head on position??
  2. Il2 COD is a horribly optimized POS game. Sorry. It had to be said. DCS is also very poorly optimized but you can tweak the performance to some extent.
  3. Ahh thanks for that dahui.
  4. Hi guys, K brings up the Kneeboard right? Right. Anyway once I get it up, I only see a very small portion of the designated mission intel of the mission Im flying as if its very zoomed in. Is there anything I can do with the kneeboard once its up? Right now I have to cheat wih F10 to see (or aproximate) where Im supposed to go. Thanks in advance.
  5. Good topic. Im kind of, maybe just, thinking about, starting to get into using those MGs on my P51 for the first time on some MP servers so I appreciate any discussion where I can learn some valid tactics. :)
  6. Ok thanks for that, Im from Europe so the metric system is more natural for me to use. What about the training missions? Will each aircraft come with its own training missions and campaign like the DCS aircraft?
  7. Ok Ill post my question here. Im looking to get into a fast mover, so Im eagerly awaiting the Su-27 and F15C. My question is this. Which has inherently easier navigation, weapons systems and avionics?? Let me put it this way. I fly the Huey, Mi8 and P51 mostly because I find the A10C systems way too much of a chore to learn properly. I will put the effort for a fast mover though, so assuming they arrive at the same time which would you recommend I start with? The F15 or the Su-27?
  8. This is not clear from the original post. Thats all Im saying.
  9. Thank you.
  10. Silver Dragon would you mind updating your OP in regards to the released modules? So far only the Su-25A and the A10A have been released as seperate modules. (Seperate from FC3 that is) The rest are WIP (I assume). If they ever release the Su-27 as a standalone module Im buying. First thing.
  11. So the wheelbrake toggle, does it exist? Pressing and holding the wheelbrake is useful but I would really like to be able to toggle wheelbrake on or off during startup/shutdown procedures etc. (Sorry if it seems like a noob question, but I havent been able to find it in the controls)
  12. Ill settle for being able to land on moving ships....thanks.
  13. I actually love the shaking, its a great visual clue and very helpful even if at times it feels a little extreme.
  14. Finally some info on EDGE, really worthwhile stuff too. Must mean that its close!! Yay. Anyway Im soooo glad I was wrong about the clouds, the cloud cover looks fantastic in EDGE.
  15. Your method is the one I use in the Mi8, but it does not work for me in the Huey. I have to move the controls and then trim.
  16. Am I the only one who thinks these images dont really look that impressive? The trees are straight out of the old engine for example. The clouds, from what I can see, they are the same as in the old renderer The only really impressive part is the night illumination and sheer number of lights, shown in that night picture. Really looks like a city nightscape. One other thing, someone mentioned that DCS: WW2 will be the first DCS product to use the EDGE renderer. Really? So its coming to DCS: WW2 before DCS: World???? What a slap in the face that would be
  17. In my opinion, at this point not really that much. Apparently EDGE will change all of that, because of multithreading etc, but I wouldnt bet on that. Not according to past experience at least. Get the i5 but make sure you get the K version, which you can overclock. Even a modest overclock to 4 GHZ nets an impressive gain in DCS.
  18. I never said it was, it just never occured to me that the systems are modeled differently. Anyway with the gracious help of other forum members, Ive got the Huey trim working correctly now. All it takes is a change in the method, I have to move cyclic first, press trim, release cyclic. Rinse and repeat, its different than how I do it in the Mi8 but it works.
  19. Thats coming next though right? I mean when they get around to it, but its coming before the hornet AFAIK, and after EDGE.
  20. Ok thanks for clarifying that, its obvious in retrospect that maybe just maybe the two systems cant be used in the same way. What is strange is that it took two pages of comments before someone mentioned that fact. I dont know why I thought that the trim systems wouldnt be modeled accurately but anyway. Thanks.
  21. Jay, please re-read my original post. The trim method that Im using works flawlessly in the Mi8, wouldnt the same error register in the Mi8 if the method was incorrect?
  22. PeterP's solution did not work. I tried experimenting with lowering the delay to 0 and increasing it to 1 and even 2. I still get either a delay in registering axis movements after pressing trim (CPT unchecked) or a sudden jump in the axis movement after trim is released. (Please see attached .trk files posted previously) Could one of the mods/admins please move this thread to the appropriate bug subforum? It appears to be a genuine bug.
  23. Ok this is getting really weird. Now Im getting jerking motions with the option checked, although they happen after i release the button. Here are two track files, first is option unchecked, second CPT checked. CPTunchecked.trk CPThecked.trk
  24. Saitek X52. So it should not be a ffb issue, since I dont have...ffb. :music_whistling: Very strange. Ill try checking the option with the Huey, if that doesnt work Ill post a track.
  25. Checked the options, the setting is unchecked for both helos. Would you like me to post a .trk?
