Im worried about weather. It all looks very pretty on the ground, but Id really like to see an improvement to the weather rendering system. The clouds and assorted weather systems look exactly the same as what we have right now. And what we have right now is not impressive at all....

Why would that alienate anyone unless they decide to quit supporting the DirectX API? (which would be insane and stupid)

I second this motion. :thumbup: We need a more realistic sky, I share the OP's opinion it would definitely bring way more enjoyment to the mix than any other possible new feature.

Sounds like vortex ring state. Its a little deep to get into here on the forum, but wikipedia has a really good explanation. It has nothing to do with the ground effect, which in fact increases lift.

In many ways the Logitech 3d pro is much better than my X52. The tension is perfect in the stick, too bad that the twist rudder is 'iffy' at best. Still its possible to play and enjoy DCS with that particular joystick. My advice is just keep away from the helicopter sims until you get rudder pedals.

Whatever works best for you. I keep it low @ 2500 RPM so there is less engine torque to deal with, and I usually try to land it mostly dead stick on final approach. I say 'mostly' because Im still getting the hang of it. Landing this plane cleanly has got to be one of the hardest things in DCS.

Well since they are much more detailed (Im basing this on the WIP static objects weve seen from Nevada) I would assume that the damaged models would also be of a much higher quality.

Can someone explain to me why a RWR system would detect a missle launch from a STT lock, but wont from a TWS lock? Sorry if its kind of off-topic. I understand how the different modes work, but Im not really sure how RWR works I guess. (Waiting for F15C for my first taste of Air to Air combat)

RIP Nelson Mandela I actually had the pleasure of meeting Nelson Mandela in person, I was still a kid playing in a school band at some reception or fundraiser dinner cant remember what it was for. This was back when I used to live in Cape Town. Suddenly the whole place was on its feet clapping and cheering and this really well dressed friendly old man danced into the room. I shit you not he was dancing and greeting people along the way. Me and the other kids were kind of in shock, as were most of the adults in the place. He worked the room for about 15 minutes and left, I managed to shake his hand. Unbelievable charisma. The guy was electric. He truly was a great man, its a shame he wasnt a better politician. Its not surprising though. In my experience I found that the two dont usually mix. RIP Madiba.

Im happy the Mi is getting a campaign, but even more than that Im extremely happy the Huey is getting a campaign fix overhaul. Im going to give it another go (I gave up because of the bugs).

Im not sure we are on the same page here. Correct me if Im wrong but isnt the 3d model of a brand new design (Im talking about NEW designs) usually built before any scale models, or even 1:1 models?? I.E. the feasibility of the design is tested in a simulated environment and only once it passes those tests does it go into scale model production, wind tunnel testing, etc. etc....
