  1. Here's the video and associated track file. MTOW 80% https://youtu.be/j0v57kIAGmc bug engine force kick 2023-09-18.7z Same instance but external view. It seems that it's the G camera setting is overreacting. No such movements occur on the airframe. One last video and track - G effects on camera disabled (head bobbing disabled). Note that even with the setting disabled there are instances the pilot is "shaken in the cockpit." https://youtu.be/tlWLv4vNgg0 bug engine force kick 2023-09-18 headbob disabled.trk EDIT FINAL: Yeah, the case seems to be clear - here's what happens at engine RPM variations: 1. The in-game airframe actually jitters in a way impossible in real life. 2. Due to the huge accelerations the camera algorithm goes haywire. Here's a magnified view: YAW magnified https://youtu.be/6GdVNsg31oY ROLL magnified https://youtu.be/H9ojQmatHRw
  2. IRL if there's this kind of impulse on the airframe from the engines, the engines are goners.
  3. Whenever I'm revving up for takeoff the A/C shakes violently at certain moments. While testing for the infamous afterburner bug I noticed camera kicks. At that time I thought it's just a camera glitch, but it seems there's more to it after all. If not for the in-flight occurrences I'd suspect a glitch in tire contact modeling but the spotlight is on the engines right now. DCS version - ALL OB versions since december 2022 not map-specific I'm going to post a track sometime later.
  4. Ah, the Su-25 guy just posted a screenshot from his F-5E settings.
  5. F-5E module is not IS the only module with that option. You might want to follow this topic https://forum.dcs.world/topic/323919-joystick-and-y-axis-asymmetry-question/ As far as I know it's still undocumented.
  6. I finally made the leap and I'm ditching Caucasus. It seems like a great time to do so and it's great to see the continued improvements Ugra Media is dishing out.
  7. Does such an upgrade path exist? I did read the appropriate FAQ's etc., but I don't think it's what I'm asking about is possible. Still, I'd like to ask The whole backers thing... I wish it was a bit more isolated from regular DCS purchases. I asked for some licences to be assigned to another user in hopes this would clear things up a bit but the licenses are still there, visible on my account.
  8. If there are any (I'm still not sure), is there a way to disable just the dots for object labels, all types of objects? If it's going to simplify things, for just one general label mode e.g. FULL. I've looked into the labels.lua file but it doesn't speak to me I don't mind if the symbols (e.g. chevrons for aircrafts) are gone as well.
  9. But I'm going to go with DCS Livery Unlocker v1.2.1 [UPDATED] — https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3318254/
  10. You mean you bought 2 pieces of the real deal?! Man ...
  11. I was trying to be polite What's the story with those two panels? Did you make one for sale? https://public.fotki.com/tankist/cockpit---/simpit-take-2/20150621-210324.html
  12. For the F-5E you might want to start with the undocumentend settings in special: - Joystick mode (linear, FFB, etc.) see https://forum.dcs.world/topic/323919-joystick-and-y-axis-asymmetry-question/ - sight camera F-5E Tips: "Real aircraft controls use longer arms and better sensors than commercial joysticks. You can get around some of the shortcomings using Axis Tune - Curvature (e.g. 15%). Dead zone only as a last resort." "Trimming is balancing the aircraft. It's necessary with speed changes and you're going to use that often. Map trimming controls to your joystick HAT switch." "F-5E has lower structural stress ratings compared to contemporary fighters. Refer to the manual for G (acceleration) limitations." "You can silence the low-speed warning beeping sound by pressing the [I] key." "The weapons panel as well as the radar warning receiver panel (RWR) both contain volume knobs you can use to lower the sound volume for the respective system tones." "You can find cockpit texture mods in DCS user files section at https://dcs.world You need one. Get one." "F-5E is rather particular about the weapons panel switch positions. E.g. leaving a jettison switch flipped after you got rid of a certain weapon may prevent you from firing any remaining weapons. Please refer to the manual." * pilot body show/hide * RCtrl+Pause CYCLE for performance metrics * RCtrl+Enter for controls indicator * one-liner about basic camera controls - cockpit * one-liner about basic camera controls - external "wishlist" : - redefine the default Numpad0 cockpit view in to show more instruments - general: redefine audio balance between cockpit and external views ; the external audio level is far too high General: LShift+R for goodness sake! restart mission other general universal key commands like briefing, rearm, chats and what not
  13. @agrasyukAh, yes, the 'myself' is the most important assembly In this day and age a 2-week lack of self awareness on own state of mind or personal matters may slide into a costly situation. All the best to you! I'm kind of lost in your threads since they span 6 years or so and I've just discovered them. I've noticed you used a laser print on paper laminated in office lamination pouches for panel letterings. Have you tried matt ones (matte???) insted of the regular shiny ones? I think they might look better but that's just my hunch. Do you still rely on laminated panels or have you moved to another process?
  14. @MAXsenna The page 193 screenshot is from the "before taxiing" manual section, so on the ground, therefore the spring stops are disengaged and the stop indicators on the RCtrl+ENTER indicator are not present. I'm not saying your whole bug report is invalid. Just that part
  15. @Flappie In case you need the real deflection values, they're in my simpit thread, spreadsheet attachment. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/318106-f-5e-simpit-cockpit-dimensions-and-flight-controls/
  16. The bug is gone for me on DCS 2.8.8.43489 Open Beta. I haven't updated to the minor latest version yet.
  17. Coincidentally, ED had to introduce an 2FA requirement recently for the trial program.
  18. Yep, at the end of the following video you can see the AIM got flare-blind. Bot, to the flares already falling and the newly deployed ones. Throughout the video I probe other objects for AIM sensitivity. At one point it acquires an Su-22 5.5 km out from his 10 o'clock. Attached are all my 'buggy AIM' related tracks. Most of them probably not in the "respect Flappie's time" mode but hey. Consider them optional bug F-5E sidewinder P no lock Bucic.7z Mi-24 summed up
  19. To anyone reading this, that's the only reason the OP won't be facing the problem with controller GUID identifier mismatch. At least to my knowledge. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/84289-backup-and-restore-input-files-always-a-problem/
  20. I'm going to try to catch an occurrence of that bug again. I think I've got the flares issue on one of my video recordings. Also, with the heat suppressors the 24 has I don't think rear/front should make a big difference. Top/bottom rather
  21. I don't quite remember the scenario but I seriously doubt I'd go for a bug report if it was only about front aspect. Also, I specifically mentioned flares. Flares have no aspect I'll review the track sometime later or provide a clearer proof of rear aspect case. EDIT: Three more (loose) details: 1. I've played the mission to death. 2. Mi-24's in DCS are flying glitches. 3. I often "look up the pipes" of Mi-24 before firing a missile.
  22. While the pace of bug fixing for F-5E leaves a lot to be desired the openness to review bug reports is exemplary. Isolate an issue and post a bug report about it. Otherwise it's all vague. With all the opinionanated postings, especially about FM, it's no wonder noone from ED is chiming in to 'discuss our feelings.' The aerobraking seems to be a good example. F-5E doesn't have the control authority to perform a prolonged aerobraking. And even if the conditions are right the window is too short to make sense. To me it's 'airshow infestation'. To be able to do aerobraking you have to go in steeper and faster. While the first one is an option, the latter defeats the purpose. Speaking of short window, you do have to/should leave an airspeed margin to be able to lower the nose wheel gently instead of slamming it down. Unstable TO: Verify correct trim up preset and even lower it a bit. Instant action TO mission for example sets a huge ~30% stick back trim at the start of the mission for an aircraft with basically no ordnance. Rotation speed too high. Not per manual, per in-game conditions. Try rotating earlier. Attitude should be controlled 'by the horizon' not 'by stick.' The following video shows time between pulling on the stick to rotation to be less than 1 second https://youtu.be/ohGpGzCIS08?t=250 To contradict my point (?) https://youtu.be/RugT96MHSfg?t=533 RL instructor pilot Tim Davies aka FJP Master F-5 Circuits Like a Pro: Expert Tips from a Real RAF Flying Instructor - YouTube — No I haven't I will proceed to read it now <in Zuck tone> https://imgix.bustle.com/inverse/89/2a/5c/9b/88bc/4be4/a7a5/8ac2f03608d5/a-really-good-memesubmitted-by-to-rzuckmemes-by-user-doors1pp1-margin-00px-00px-00px-00.jpeg
  23. Just so we're at the same page. Limiter spring (spring limiter?) is only present in roll channel and the implementation in DCS is very logical. Then, are you going to edit the long post about your findings? Or post a bug report on 'incorrect controls indicator'?
  24. I will
