  1. I've figured out a way of doing it with my bamboo tablet. Using left click to pan and scroll I just have to flick my pen up or down to zoom. I've given up with my mouse scroll wheel. Would love to see key presses to zoom in and out though.
  2. Hi there. I'm having (and have always had) problems zooming in and out with the mission editor. It takes forever to zoom in after scrolling the mouse wheel. Sometimes it doesn't even zoom at all. I don't have any fine control of it at all. Sometimes it zooms in or out to its maximum with no in between. Its all rather hit or miss. I've tired two mice, same problem. I've tried using my wacom bamboo aswell, using the scroll touch pad. Same thing happens. I've never been able to use the mission editor because of this. Can't we just have two keys to zoom in and out?
  3. Is this what you are looking for BadHabit? http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=814314&postcount=18 You'll find those structures have moved to here now: DCS World 1.5 Open Beta\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\Structures\High\EDM I have an old JSMGE mod of this tweak which I shall adjust to fit the new file structure. When I have time I'll see if it helps with my FPS with these structures removed. I too have a loss of fps when looking at built up areas which is quite distracting.
  4. Hi Ligeti This thread might be of use to you. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=165260&highlight=zoom+view About setting a default level of zoom, to the centre detent, of the slider on a thrustmaster throttle. Regards, Milli
  5. I really like that 360 degree view. Feels like I've got trackir in a video. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I had the same revelation a couple of weeks back. I've had the Huey for ages but never really gave it a chance. Its my favourite aircraft now. I've watched some youtube videos of others flying it and they make it all look so easy. I've been practicing alot but my landings are terrible. I always end up landing in a totally different location than where I had planned ha ha. Once i get a hang of the huey i will feel very satisfied with myself because it really feels like proper flying.
  7. I too fell for this one. "...we are offering 50% off on all DCS World helicopters using bonus points!". The above statement is false. I'm not stupid or thick, (I have the qualifications to prove it). Its just a badly worded statement I suppose, nothing devious meant by it I know. Oh well.
  8. Thank you Gliptal. Much appreciated.
  9. Thanks Rossi, will have a look at this. The idea makes sense. Just noticed you're in Herefordshire - my birth place! Living close by now, in Ludlow, Shropshire.
  10. That's how I read it too.
  11. Hi Dallas I've had a quick look at this mod. I too cannot start DCS World when this mod is enabled in JSGME. Nothing really stands out as to what the problem is. The file structure looks ok to me. I'd suggest popping over to the forum ED Forums » English » Sim Topics » Mods and Apps » How To » Battleships Bismark, which can be found here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160234 Ask here and see what they say. The maker of the mod discusses his mods here. Many mods fail when DCS World gets updated, maybe thats the problem. I don't think you have a problem with JSGME as I have the same problem of DCS World not starting with this mod activated and I have many mods activated using JSGME
  12. Good idea. I like it. Subscribed.
  13. Hi Oubaas I tried your original settings yesterday but they dropped my framerate quite dramatically. I only have an old ATI 5770 1GB card so its not very advanced. CPU is an intel i5 running at 3.6 GHz. What I did take from your settings is the issue of the shadows. Turning these up really has a dramatic reduction is FPS. So I set them at Flat Only like you said. Much better performance. Also I cannot use anymore than 4x MSAA. This really kills my framerate if I go any higher. Regarding the AMD Radeon settings, I found your settings further reduced my framerate. I basically have to have everything at its lowest or most basic setting or leave it up to the game itself. I will try the ENHANCE APPLICATION SETTING and Morphological Filtering later tonight and see what that does. Anyway, your post pushed me into messing with my settings and I have as a result increased my FPS by about 8-9 FPS. That is mainly to do with turning shadows to flat and reducing my MSAA setting. These two were the worst offenders. So thank you, I will try tinkering some more and see if I can push up my FPS a few frames more. I need all i can get with my system. My Settings: DCS Options Textures: High Terrain Textures: High Civilian Traffic: Off Water: Low Visual Range: Medium Heat Blur: Off Shadows: Flat Only Resolution: 1920x1080 Res. of CP Displays: 1024 MSAA: 4x HDR: Off Depth of Field: Off Lens Effects: Off Clutter/Grass: 300 (Only when flying my Huey, I set this at 0 when flying jets) Trees Visibility: 7800 Preload Radius: 150000 (Max) Anisotropic Filtering: 8x Flat Terrain Shadows: On AMD Radeon settings: Anti-aliasing Mode: Use Application Settings Anti-aliasing Method: Multisampling Morphological Filtering: Off Anisotropic Filtering Mode: Use Application Settings Texture Filtering Quality: Performance Surface Format Optimization: Off Wait for Vertical Refresh: Off, unless application specifies OpenGL Triple Buffering: Off Tessellation Mode: Use Application Settings
  14. The woman in the second photo down looks so much like Nina Myers from 24.
  15. Well you're in the right place then! Welcome.
  16. The Mike Curb Congregation singing Burning Bridges, Kelly's Heroes of course and Buccaneers all bring great thoughts and feelings to me ha ha. Thanks for the vid!
  17. I seem to remember something like that happening to me a few years ago now. If I remember correctly you can simply press the trigger (fire gun) on your joystick, or whatever key or button you have assigned to fire the gun. That will hopefully move the video/tutorial along to the the next section. Hope that helps. EDIT: Just found this old forum post http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81818
  18. Turn up your textures to high or something like that. They are clear at or above a certain setting. They are blurry at low or maybe even medium, I can't remember exactly.
  19. As a kid in the 80's I had a full gamut of USAF and RAF planes belting along at low level every day over my house on the border of Wales and England. Oh how I miss those days ha ha. Tornando's, Jaguars, Buccaneers, Hawks, Phantoms, Canberra's, Lightnings, Jets Provosts, Hercules, Chinooks, Gazelles, Harriers, F-111's, F-15's and my all time favourite A-10's. Absolutely loved those A-10's who once seen would seem to hang around all day, operating in pairs. That sound and the shape. Amazing. Nowadays, I see about 1 plane a week, either a Hawk or a Typhoon at 20,00 feet. Yawn. Flying in DCS lets me keep those good old days going. I couldn't believe it when I saw the A-10 in a flight simulator and at such a high standard. And who doesn't like blowing s@&t up anyway?
  20. Looks like a gun strafe to me, VBIED runs into a load of bullets, VBIED goes boom.
  21. You'll have to elaborate more than that jono. You download the A-10C from within the module manager in DCS World. The module manager will download and install it automatically when you click on the install button. That is if you have bought it of course. Hope this helps.
