  1. I just installed the beta, now I´m downloading the modules. Tomorrow I´ll do some thorough "testing". Thanks so far - great update / change log. Love the new GUI click-sound. :) P. S.: The "copying from ocal sources"-feature during the installation process is very convenient and probably saves a lot of resources.
  2. I know I´m lazy sometimes, but this thread... ;) EDIT: Wow, that was one quick move...
  3. I was a little surprised at first, reading about mid-2014 as a release date, but your explanation sounds quite plausible.
  4. Thx for keeping us up to date!
  5. Yes, I have watched that one ad nauseam, but in the first KS-video Igor Tishin talked about "having developed 8 modules (whatever that may include from your list, or cancelled 3rd party projects so far) and an additional 20 scheduled for release within 18 months" (from 6:10 on). There is a slight discrepancy with regard to the number of modules here and this kind of background info about the MiG-29 pit plus your list still leave some room for speculation, wouldn´t you agree? Additionally, the overview is from January whereas the KS video is from September...
  6. Oh yeah, that´s yet another pleasant detail. Just a guess, but this method of creating new modules with 6DOF pit, AFM and LoFi systems for DCS World might still lead to a number of new modules, as was vaguely hinted at in the first KS-video.
  7. Hehe, too many (good) news about exciting goodies to play with. Yeah, christmas kinda felt like that when I was a child.
  8. According to RRG´s KS-campaign and reward schedule, the FW-190D-9 beta is due Feb 2014 - if that has any validity to it... But Wags` post indicates it might be possible.
  9. It´s gonna be so awesome that you have to be careful not to blow your mind in the process of rolling that plane... I hope it will be in 1.2.8 though... :)
  10. Did he really say that it will be included with 1.2.8? ;)
  11. Sounds a little like your patience is beginning to run out... ;)
  12. And you broke it...
  13. Sorry, I was being too unspecific. What I meant were the actual 3D models of damaged static objects on the Nevada map (synonymously used together with the term EDGE here). Of course this does not depend on the actual graphics engine. I just haven´t seen anything showcased until today is all. RRG just recently showed some WIP models to the public.
  14. At this point I´m starting to wonder what the damage models in EDGE - Nevada will look like. So far I haven´t read or seen anything about that.
  15. The reworked Dynamic Launch Zone of SAM units actually sounds pretty interesting. Sounds like something that could have to do with a new targeting system.
  16. This is such a lovely skin. Thank you so much for this one - it´s certainly among my favorites.
  17. Even change is subject to change? Your "speculation" sounds quite plausible. Please, more change is always welcome.
  18. I was kinda thinking the same thing. If you try to look at the current situation in a more differentiated way, you will have to admit that there are issues left and simply mentioning them in this context is not necessarily a rant or childish. DCS is amazing, yes, but it´s not perfect. There is much going on, so progress on certain other specific issues will naturally be slow. One can be aware of that and still appreciate the work that is being done. No need for the name-calling to start again. I´m out.
  19. What´s so brutal about that? :) You are right in saying that they are not mutually exclusive. BST is probably not involved in bug fixing the DCS core. I´d love to see their modules finished, too. No word on anything there yet though... (fingers crossed) MP stability has been a big issue for a long time and the new track recording finally offers great opportunities for the devs in keeping up with pesky bugs. Those and other things constitue the ground work for the more visible features to build on. Now this has been worked on for a long time and is supposedly in place for some part, so I can´t help but think about other stuff that´s been advertised. The ATC is another core concern for DCS ...or finally ridding CA of its game breaking AI bugs (I didn´t metion that one before). Those still fall within the bug fixing regime, but still have much more visible (hence "sexy") impact on gameplay. I don´t just care about new graphics and modules and don´t you tell me you are not looking forward to those too ;)
  20. It´s so great that there is a new update coming, but the list reads a bit weird in my eyes. Overall lots of very useful fixes and additions that will greatly improve DCS, but some more important features or fixes mentioned long ago didn´t make this preleminary list (just like they didn´t make previous fixes). Guess one has to reserve final judgement until it´s released. Good work so far! Still, I´m mainly looking forward to all the sexy stuff that´s supposed to come to DCS in the nearer future and that´s all being delayed for some reason... ATC, Su-33, EDGE, MiG-21... :)
  21. Yeah, exactly that "swoosh" ;) I just checked again and even with headphones and loud volume there is no such sound associated with bombs (in this case Mk-82s) - just the bang. I checked from the F6-perspective and from a fixed ground perspective immediately over the target. When did ED supposedly add it? I have all but the latest update to 1.2.6 installed. It wasn´t in that last changelog...
  22. Implementation of the noise that is created by the air distortion of falling bombs (and ballistic missiles)
  23. Those new screenshots are really sexy looking. I believe it´s gonna be great for flying helicopters. So many cover spots that can be used in missions compared to the caucasus... This and the F-15 AFM make me think of one of my favorite flying videos ^^
