  1. I guess it would not be ok to post screenshots from that video in here? Love those tautologies...
  2. Correct, there never was any hard release date. I should have altered my choice of words which I had wanted to do initially after posting. However, there were some statement that may have created the expectation of a late 2013 release until this changed just before 2013 ran out. This is something I really don´t want to argue now - bad choice of words. I´m out for now, which is probably for the best.
  3. Any jump or leap should be sure-footed enough for otherwise you will be left grasping for straws to save yourself. I know I´m reaching, but seriously, how could you not if you see something like that. Delays, nothing but delays...
  4. Does that preclude this possible narrative? Of course it´s easy to jump to conclusions based on just a few images that you see somewhere, but in absence of any official word it´s pretty much all you´ve got. At least it confirms there is already a build 1.3.0 in existence which hints at what I assumed before. The only question remains how many intermediate builds there are/will be/will be released.
  5. Oh, hello there. There you are indeed. Me likey!
  6. Oh well... Thx for the clarification.
  7. Hehe, just about everything in this video is gorgeous. I also wish I could have my money taken for this already! Just found it a little strange that something is released under a new (?) code name when it´s already publicly knwon under the acronym EDGE. Also, the video is not listed. How did the link find its way here? Was it an intentional leak? Viral marketing? I think I´m still going insane before it´s released...
  8. Hypothetically, if such an engine makes use of tesselation, why not? The first tesselation benchmarks for DX11 that were running fluidly on 580s and such seemed to have more complex geometry going on. Although if you look closely, the rocks extend out to a considerable distance. I really like the LOD transitions. As far as it can be judged from this material, they appear very fluid. Another very interesting and beautiful video that shows many possible features, but what should this video mean to anybody who is waiting for official news on EDGE and its final features? Probably nothing, but it´s fertile ground for some more specualtion. Damn, this is cruel. I just want to play this and not be teased any more with something different every day. EDIT: What is the "PROJECT9 graphics engine" even? It looks just like EDGE. Or is this just the first promo material for the current EDGE version (be it for DCS or commercial use) and they´re trying to fly below the radar...?
  9. How else would he know about it in the first place? ;)
  10. I bet Ilya hasn´t posted any new update because he´s busy hunting the guy down. His head will be presented to us in the next update.
  11. Ok, thanks!
  12. I missed the twitch video, too. Is there gonna be a stream perhaps? What about the technical difficulties? Been a couple of days now...
  13. I´m sure things are still moving along well behind the curtains and yes, one can probably infer that it´s coming closer to what we are all waiting for. However, I can´t help but ask myself how, apart from any directly EDGE-related news, RRG now thinks it´s a good idea to just start ignoring us and post no more weekly updates, which is clearly a breach of their own assurances to the community. At least they should briefly mention why there is a change in policy. ED on the other hand never said they would make anything public.
  14. The restoration of the "White 16" was apprently done by a company called Sandy Air Corps (sandyair.com) and they claim that it is one of less than a handful DW190-D9s with an actual combat history. Never heard of them before, but such people might be convinced to share some of their insights since digital and real world restoration are probably similar with regard to the reliance on research and historical documentation. Any news?
  15. Yes, it is easy to forget how much effort was put into the MiG-21BIS project before it took off like it did in the last year or so. For me it´s not about a refund of the money, but I really hate the impression of being strung along and kept in the dark when there are obviously quite substantial things going on behind the curtains. The point you make about the likely future of the MiG-23 project is indeed quite sad... Question is if all ties between Laszlo/Novak and LS have been cut now once and for all.
  16. Very good point, it makes alot of sense to look at it this way and I do very much agree with your reasoning. Win-win?
  17. Yay!
  18. Didn´t they, by honoring the backers claims to the final product, do exactly what you specified for the "Betriebsübernahme"? No matter what the legal "Spitzfindigkeiten" were in the transition from SB to LS, they did everything they could to prevent what you described in your last paragraph. I hope I´m not misunderstanding you, but they will of course know how much they depend on the support and trust of all the fans on this forum. At least from what I´ve read today, I dont´think any blame can be assigned to LS. But you are right, some might think twice about giving away their money now...
  19. I would even consider buying the module again from the "new" team, but only if in some way (and I´m not saying that it´s their primary responsability) this whole issue has been resolved and made transparent to the initial backers. He asked the right question: What happened there with our money? Someone should be able to answer this question.
  20. Ask questions first, shoot later?! ;)
  21. Most definitely! :)
  22. Hehe... :D (The quality of their work is what counts though)
  23. Now after the n-th assurance that it´s not gonna be delayed anymore there is gonna be another delay...?! :D Thinking of the reactions and legal actions I have witnessed when certain companies miss deadlines by just a few days makes me chuckle. It´s really a luxury for you guys to be working with such a patient and understanding community that supports and buys your products. Don´t forget that when you talk about the (inherent) risks of crowdfunding. This genre of video games wouldn´t last long without the trust and dedication of its community. About what Kuky brought up - what happened with the indiegogo-funds if they were not invested in the work you guys (or at least Dolphin887) did in the past? I mean, it´s very nice of you to honor the initial trust of supporters, but what the hell?! Where my money at? Anyway, it´s nice to finally have some definitive answers and see that you people are back on track. No hard feelings and all the best! I´d say an open beta, at least for indiegogo-supporters, sounds just about right.
  24. Sorry, but I´m not sure what you mean by a delay caused by the Huey. Maybe I´m fogetting something quite obvious right now, but did the coding/finalization for 1.2.7 cause this delay of other prjects or what was it? Or maybe I just missend a few relevant posts again ;)
