I have a vanilla install of DCS World, with Caucasus and Normandy and all of the ww2 modules, including the Art Assets and the Spitfire Mission. It doesn't show up, as well as any Normandy-based servers. Also on the drop-down menu where we can chose which Maps to filter, there's only "All", "Caucasus" and "Nevada", although I do not even own Nevada or Gulf Map. I found that the dynamic IP address I had gained this week was listed for bad reputation so I left the router unplugged for hours and when I return home today I hope I'll get a new one, hopefully not of the same sort.... I'm not sure if this could be the cause though.

closed Storm of War - DCS WWII / Historical Server

I just ran a "repair" with no success. When I go to the Multiplayer board only Caucasus missions and all for jet-age and helis are available :-/ Looking fwd to sort it out ASAP... -
Yep @eekz, that's exactly the same version I have. Just ran a "repair" but nothing changed - when I open the Multiplayer server board there aren't even any servers for Normandy at all, and all of the Caucasus servers are jet-age or heli… Well, will try to sort it out. Thx for your replies guys...

Just as with Burning Skies, I can't see your server when I login to Multiplayer in 2.5.3 Open Beta ? -

No mod at all saburo - just re-installed DCS 2.5.3 Open Beta. Rushing home to try it asap... Thx !

Same problem here :-( Actually in 2.5.3 Open Beta I can't see any ww2 servers, Caucasus or Normandy, which are the only two I could possibly use since I do not own Nevada or Dubai. Was wondering exactly what happened to these servers ?
-
Did they borrow that from X-Plane 11 ? :-) I haven't been using DCS lately, but last time I did there surely was ground effect at least on the 109 K-4 and P51D, as well as in the Spitfire.

Oh well :-( back to my new love then ….

Touché :-)

No problem at all, alas, being Portuguese I would naturally use "induced" too and we have "induzido" here as something caused by... But I did know about that "official" definition in the domain of aerodynamics, so, I decided to suggest the correction. What matters is that your and others posts have been important in bringing this subject to discussion - sideslip effects as modelled in DCS prop aircraft.
-
It's actually more a case of parasite drag here, with the added contribution, among other elements, by the fuselage...

That makes two of us :-)

motoadve, I just corrected my post - I was willing to write UP, and instead wrote down :-/
-
Today, "talking" to a CJ-6 pilot, he commented on the marked pitching UP tendency on that aircraft, and, since he's also a user of DCS's Yak-52, he remarked that the DCS Yak was very slight in the pitching UP moment due to flap deloyment, saying that in the CJ-6 it requires prompt aplication of forward stick and then trimming... How two so similarly looking aircraft can be so different in these detail...

If you refer to rudder trim, no, no way... It's very sensible, specially at higher IAS. Doesn't feel ok to me, but migh tget fine tuned in future updates ( ? ). Not that bad regarding elevator trim though.

Dynamic stall/spin characterstic of DCS WW2 fighters

You mean, IRL, or in this game ? -
Dynamic stall/spin characterstic of DCS WW2 fighters
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to Kwiatek's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Interesting remarks Kwiatek ! I always follow your posts / thread also at the IL-2 forums, because you pick interesting stuff based on RL experience, even if not in exactly the same aircraft. I also find the same way regarding stall / spin characteristics in DCS, but honestly the spin recovery is also just too benign in IL-2, and surprisingly I am finding this sort of "out-of-envelope" characteristic a lot more thrilling and comparable to their real life described ones in War Thunder ( SIM mode !!! ). -
Thank you guys! Neither of these were up during last weekend though. Will try again on saturday - I hope ...

Definitely something wrong. Wasn't aware of it and reproduced yesterday. 30 min non-stop full emergency power! No consequences.

Can't find any available when I go Multiplayer ? I'm on Open beta but today even installed Stable to check if it was different, but still no WW2 servers available ?
-
Why can't I see the server Up in my DCS 2.5 Open Beta ? Today I even installed the Stable version in parallel but still no WW2 servers when I go MP ?

Choosing or not military stuffs on Caucasus airports
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to jef32's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Sure, from here: https://www.gamingnexus.com/Article/5797/A-interview-with-DCSs-Matt-Wagner-/ you can get this by Matt, and other interesting hints as well... "Moving forward, we are committed to adding more and more aircraft from various eras of aviation and the inclusion of maps that span the world. An important aspect of this will be the move to a “world map” and a more varied choice of gameplay types that appeal to different users." -
Just came out of testing, Yak-52, Bf109, P51d and Spitfire, using RAlt-Y to see TAS in F2 view, and while trying to maintain V/s after entering sideslip they all consistently dropped it. Looks like it's OK, at least on my version ( latest Open beta ).

What speed reference(s) are you using ? Beware that with the exeption, I believe. of the Spitfire, the ASIs in DCS do not ( yet ) model pitot errors due to sideslip. In a real aircraft a sideslip will introduce "dramatic" reading errors and show a much lower IAS than the actual aircraft speed ( TAS ). My experience with DCS was - I have to check if anything changed in between … - that indeed sideslips had a plausible impact on aircraft performance, not only flight dynamics wise but even systems wise ( like the effects o radiators efficiency in the P51d ). Maybe something changed ? I'll check it at home ASAP and report back.
