Ok, now set a landing mission with turbulence ( set it at or above 100 ) and x-wind of 10 m/s which is aprox 20 knot... Try landing without wing tip strike or runway excursion :-) Same applies to landing under such circumstances in the 109 K-4. The P-51d is a lot easier to control, and, just as IRL, helicopters are even easier under windy / gusty / "turby" conditions...

All of the above, with the stick pulled to you, but pitch trim set to just a mark above the middle / horizontal position, so which is still "down" because null pitch happens above that, around 3 o'clock... But I use no rudder trim and prefer to use the rudder myself to control the takeoff. Also check you do not have "rudder trim assist" enabled the the "Special" options tab !

Spitfire Landing Mastered!!!!
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to Irishlad200000's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I believe someone mentioned there being no difference presently between the drag coeficients between asphalt, soil or grass in DCS World ( ? ) -
Well, since the FPS are certainly better for me since the last patch, and I am still on my same 2012 machine, i5 2500 @ 3,3 GHz and 16GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 960 Strix GPU with 4GB GDDR5, VRAM, Windows 10, I think the culprit might be on your graphics board settings ? I would recommend: 1) Update your GPU drivers to the latest version AND; 2) Delete the shaders folder(s) - I can never remember where they are located in DCS installs... I also use Nvidia Inspector, and disable VSync in there and in the game too. DCS never ran so fast and smooth on this rig Ever!

Worst game performance after last OB update?
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to DeathAngel1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I never touch my Pagefile settings and leave it for the system to do it's own management, which I find by far to be the best options on the modern windows OS versions. 2.5.4 runs smooth and totally stuttering free in my old i5 2500, with Vsync OFF. -

109 sounds and other so called improvements
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to birdstrike's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Simple! Christmas IS Christmas.... I pushed the update this morning, flew the 25-N, and then proceeded to buy the K-4, installed, configured, went for the Quickstart takeoff ( Caucasus ) mission, and voilà ! I had also bought Nornandy, and pushed it, trying the 25-N over Normandy in the default Quickstart doghfhgt mission, which gave me that other GOOD! surprise regarding performance / smoothness gains since I had last used Normandy. How could I have used before? I just wrote I bought it? Whazzup ??? - Go figure! -

Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to birdstrike's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Well, for me it was quite a great sound update ? Whazzup ? -
Not sure about the others, but the 109 got it! It sounds Marvelous !!!! Up to finally invest in your Campaigns Reflected !
-
Yep, not to mention some of teh new sounds too!!! The 109 sounds really cool now!!!

This morning I pushed the latest Open Beta, also Normandy, and went testing the new 25-N in my still old - 2012 - rig... The same i5 2500 @ 3,3GHz, and the GTX 960 4GB GPU... Well, stability and total absence of stutters was a very good surprise, I'd say my DCS Christmas Gift ! Looking GRRREAT! Thanks a LOT ED !

Ok! Thx saburo!

Ah! Ok, and thanks a lot for the insight! It then means that it can become useful in DCS as soon as the upcoming Damage Model features become available :-) At least it is functional, so, might end up being required under such circumstances.

I honestly don't know Cpt. Orso :-/ Just picked it from YouTube … It didn't mention any mod, but might actually be a mod - wasn't even aware mods for the Spitfire sounds were available before reading your post.

The only logic sequence after the F-18 would be a Tanker....

That's how I operate it, but then, when are we supposed to use / need that "Fuel Pressuring Cock" next to the fuel prime handle ?

I would like to create a "persistent" Snap View for the P8 compass, so that whenever I am willing to sync the dyrectional gyro I can look at it by pressing a key, or controller button, and it stays fixed into that view leaving my hands free to interact with the P8 scale and adjust it properly. I made sure 'User Snap-View Saving' is checked on the 'Misc' tab, adjusted the view as desired, pressed LeftWin-KP2 because that was the Numpad key I wanted to assign to it, and then pressed Right-Alt-KP0 to save, but in two instances I completely lost control over my views and had to reset it to default, the other when I try to use KP2, it doesn't move my view to the P-8 as desired ( ? ) Any suggestions welcomed ! Thx!

Problem is, people's patience is trained, these days, to not exist... I speak for myself, not that much for these features, which I couldn't care much about - not interested in air war details… - but rather in finding implemented as accurately as possible in a PC based simulation the main flight / engine / systems characteristics of the represented aircraft models. I think that indeed, more than any other presently available offer, ED and it's WW2 modules, models, probably also jet fighters ( which I do not use.. ) offers by far the best available option.

Two questions: 1) More than once after a few sessions in a row where I participate at the Burning Skies server, but also fly a couple of default missions, it has happened that the next time I start DCS and pick the Spitfire IX the controllers axis are reset to default settings ? 2) The great chance to increase the "dots" for easier target ID, set On by default or through LSHIFT-F10 is it a default DCS feature, or is it specific / scripted in the Burning Skies server ? I'm on the latest Open Beta 2.5.3 Thank you for any help / suggestions !

Noob Spitfire Handling / Dogfight
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to TechRoss's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I'm erratic in my use of the Servers, and sims :-/ Also, since wife-bound, in as far as sound propagation goes from the sim area.. no way for me to use comms :-/ I tried TeamSpeak long ago, but had to give up. I use Discord but just for some message groups and chatting with friends. I'll login as "jcomm" shoul you see me there at the BSS. -
Noob Spitfire Handling / Dogfight
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to TechRoss's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Was there too... It's a GREEATTTT server, about to be "sponsored" by DCS ! Only problem is that presently I only own one module - the Spitfire - to use with it, and they're going Normandy starting early 2019... Will wait for a promotional sale... -
Rudder trim too sensitive...
Anatoli-Kagari9 replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
 If at least we could edit the increments, but I couldn't find anything in the "FMOptions.lua" that could look like it...
