  1. TAS / IAS is NOT affected by wind ...
  2. Yes, Again a BIG THANK YOU to Yo-Yo, who, just like many of us, must feel really sad with the news about Eric Brown ( RiP)
  3. I keep only the two German fighters, and offered ironmaiden my P51d license - he will have better use to it, I really don't like to fly it in combat, and have the TF51d for the casual rides :-)
  4. http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/world-s-greatest-aviator-eric-winkle-brown-dies-at-97-1-4035347 1919 - 2016 - 97 yo
  5. I tested it :-) Feels great, even better :-)
  6. That's good news! Thx guys!
  7. Thx for your answer Sporg! Excellent links! DCS out because I need to concentrate on RW stuff for a while, and it was a permanent temptation :-) Well, I decided to wait for the final merge of 1.5 with 2.0, and then maybe I'll give it a new try, although I would rather prefer to concentrate on a Civil flight simulation platform, and, DTG's announcement brought me some hopes - I just hope I will not get as disappointed as I felt with MS FLIGHT's fate... Combat, any sort and particularly Air Combat, is not really what I like to do - I feel uneasy with playing it, although I admit I spent lot's of hours playing DCS... I'd rather be using a civil flight simulator with full World coverage, real world and / or dynamic weather covering as much features as possible, and the quality / detail of flight dynamics like those I get in DCS World ...
  8. And... the colidable trees are not even in yet....
  9. Guy's I'm curious if this listed fix has been noticeable in your flights. I do not have DCS installed so, I can't try it, but I am curious, just as I am to find out what might have caused the frames to drop ( although I believe there is already a miracle script by Mustang ? to overcome those problems ... ). Does this adjustment to the drag have impact in the way the K-$ now performs? What about the MW50 tank - can it now become empty when in the mission menu we ask for that ?
  10. And, since it's placed bellow the Center of Rotation / CoG, it'll create a pitching up moment !
  11. Exactlly one of those mugen!!! Thx!
  12. True Otto... converging towards Perfection :-) It's unique in many aspects, even if from time to time it needs some tuning, and they give us that tuning :-) Really looking forward for: 1) The EDGE conversion of the Caucasus Map; 2) The new Weather features to come with EDGE; 3) The Spitfire, P47, ... more rotary wing.... [...] N) The Normandy Map; [...] [N+k] a flyable ww2 glider to go with Normandy :-) [...]
  13. I noticed that during a tail slide, as the aircraft ( Bf109 k-4 ) starts to fall on it's tail, after a few seconds and provided we do not force the joystick or pedals ( at least I don't and I do not have a FF joystick ) suddenly the stick and rudder deflect fully to one side, and then, after a short while, re-center very rapidly. From an outside view it can be observed that the ailerons deflect fully, as well as the rudder, as if those control surfaces were pushed by the airstream hitting them from behind. The elevator remains fixed though. The only thing that looks weird is the sudden return to their neutral position after the deflection.... Might be related to the code that sets control stiffening with speed ? :-)
  14. One can always cut&paste the link to the DCS Updater, and run it instead of the DCS executable. This way it'll always check first for any updates. All executables are under the "bin" folder. I made my copy of the ED install into the system where it wasn't installed, and simply ran the updater from there. The only thing I made sure was equal between both systems was the partition letter. It was "F:" on both systems.
  15. Yep, was online with you and did notice that too!!! Thx for calling my attention into it - certainly a bug or an option of setting the MW50 proportionally to the fuel tank ? I believe I read somewhere that MW50 would be filled proportionally to the amount of fuel loaded on amission ( ? )
  16. I didn't notice that happening really ? I usually set 40% or 50% and am still able to use MW50 ? Is it bellow this level that the MW 50 get's emptied ? What is the threshold ?
  17. Yes indeed it does codefox, and contrarily to what I had posted above, I am now using the curve for pitch suggested int this thread : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2677431#post2677431
  18. DieHard, again, thank you for having remembered those Y axis settings. I tried it and am sticking to those as the 109 is much easier to handle that way, the elevator trim tab not being adjustable, otherwise I would rather prefer to adjust it, just as it is possible with the other two, but it's probably a limitation of the flight model, so... this curve works just fine!
  19. I agree Kwiatek, but let's wait for the final fine tuning of the k4 release version ....
  20. On that, I couldn't agree more - By Far the Best flight dynamics I was ever able to use in a PC-based flight simulator. And yes, just as you, being away from the 109 for a while makes quite a difference.... I had quited playing DCS for only two weeks and when I came back yesterday I really had some problems taking off with the 109 with an unlocked tail wheel ( I like the thrill :-) )
  21. Will certainly give it a try DieHard - thanks for bringing this because I too remember having seen it but couldn't recall where :-/ Just out of curiosity, nose heaviness is common to the 109s I use in my two combat flight simulators, the only difference being that in DCS the elevator trim tab not being adjustable ( contrarily to what they did a few patches ago available for the rudder and aileron tabs ), is probably set at neutral "0.0", while in my other sim it is set to a bit tail heavy, and I can clearly see the effects even on ground when applying power and watching the elevator deflect up... Other than that, should they both have their elevator trim tabs set the same way, the same feel would be present, and, from Klaus Plasa explanations, it's OK the way it feels being set this way, and nose heavy trim is required also in real life as the aircraft accelerates after takeoff. I just would like, and honestly do not understand why not implemented ( ?? ), to be able to set the elevator ground adjustable trim tabs, just as we can do to the rudder and the aileron.... What the heck makes that so complex to implement ?
  22. Yes reflected - make the axis "slider" instead of a normal axis, in the axis tuning menu - it will travel more closely to what we have in FSX :-) I also set the toe brakes to a "slider" type axis, and set a curve at 60%, to avoid having a very brisk response when I apply them during taxi, specially in the K4 that easily prop strikes. K4 toe brakes really require some fine tuning - I believe they're modeled to effective, and RL descriptions mention ( including Eric Brown's words ) that full brakes could be applied during takeoff rollout without fearing a prop strike.
  23. Well, thank you both for your replies. My experience here was successful: 1) Installed DCS 1.5.2 in a PC with a very fast connection to the INTERNET ( 100GBps ). Only made sure the disk letter and full path to the install would exactly match those of my home PC; 2) Didn't run the program a single time, and copied the Eagle Dynamics folder into my SSD external backups unit; 3) In my home PC, restored the backup, then looked for the "bin" folder and ran the updater... The first time I ran the program at home, installed all of the modules, which I had carefully uninstalled the last time I uninstalled DCS from my home PC, so their license were still ALL available and at the same count, and it is running like a charm. Only "problem" is that I do not have an ED folder under the Start menu or "Programs". I am on Windows 10.
  24. If I make a base install of DSC World v1.5.2 in on PC, not even logging in after the install, and save it, can I then copy it to my sim PC and start it from there, running the updater, without having to go through the full install, and then, one by one installing my modules ? This will be great if possible because at home I have a really lausy connection. Will it work this way ? Thx
