Quelle mission?

Can't you set an advanced waypoint action to transmit a radio message on a given frequency with a certain power? We use this to home in on units using the Mi-8 ARC-UD and R-828 and it works fine on moving units.

UniversRadio / multiplayer radio simulator

Updated to NE but when starting TS3 it still throws the warning that I'm on NdC, which I'm not. Which file do I need to copy from where to where? -
It's known, there are certain .lua files that are now being checked and if the sytem finds anything changed, it won't load DCS or the module. Ninelines is going to ask if this is intended or not.

Try a repair. It appears that certain files are now locked with regards to modding. If the system sees one of these files changed, it won't load DCS or the module. It's now known and Nineline will ask if this is intended or not.

Pilot window doesn't close during replay track
Looney replied to Nealius's topic in Bugs and Problems
Replays are notoriously bugged from 1995 onward or so, nothing new. -
Tried loading and unloading in MP today. Loaded 5 x platoon of 4 men each, no problem Disembarking didn't happen, either it didn't trigger or I was doing something wrong, the radio menu kept stating the troops were onboard but they never debussed. Am I missing something?

Have you set the option "Full screen" to on in the options menu in DCS? -
ECM Effectiveness against AI SAM
Looney replied to Shrike88's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
It all depends on what the ECM in DCS takes into account. Radar Cross Section? Aspect? Radiated power of the radar system? Weather? PRI? PRF? Frequency? In it's purest essence, a radar is nothing more than a radio sending out directional waves and listen for its return. Once a return is picked up, the radar will either start sending out more pulses (or even continuous wave) in order to find and track the target. Once it is tracking the targets can a missile be fired and guided as long as the radar is tracking the target. Range gate pull-off, noise jamming, elevated noise floor, spot jamming can be simulated IF DCS takes into account the above mentioned parameters so that we can start to simulate some sort of jammer. If that's not available, all that is left is, most likely, some kind of limitation of a parameter that DCS does use or a random number generator which either makes you win the lottery or eat a missile... -
JTAC, which units can mark targets?
Looney replied to Fisherman82's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Any human controlled ground unit can be a JTAC and use bino's to IR mark, laser mark or give coordinates. We use the MANPAD unit as it's the only direct controllable infantry unit in DCS. -
That would be most helpful, thank you.

Having discussed the videos with friends, we're curious as what inputs are necessary for coordinated flight, hence the question. "Kick the ball" will get hands and feet when the indicator shows what is happening, which control is acting when. Sure enough, cyclic inputs are minimal, it's the other stuff that's interesting :)
-
Can you show the controls indicator in your videos? That way we can see the movement of the controls as you pass the different phases of flight.
-
It's stand-alone navigation using GPS. It can't talk to other units nor communicate outside the aircraft it's installed in. So, set-up your route in the ME and it'll get transferred into the NS340 on mission start. If you do get an LZ or other POI you can set this in the NS340 manually and it'll guide you there.
-
There are youtube videos detailing the use of the doppler navigation. It will only tell you where you are reference to the point you activated the doppler system, nothing more, nothing less. It can't tell you where to fly to for a waypoint, just the next waypoint but setting that is manual labour and will need to be redone everytime you change course to the next waypoint.

UniversRadio / multiplayer radio simulator
Looney replied to tacno's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I'm unable to have UR find my DCS install. I did a brand new fresh install of DCS after deleting both the old 1.5.8 and Openbeta and downloading the whole simulator and modules fresh. After installing DCS, I installed UR but it won't connect as it can't find my DCS install. It looks in /user/saved games/DCS/... whereas my install is /user/saved games/DCS.Openbeta/... Any idea how to fix this? -
Vikhr missiles stop working after a while and nose dive
Looney replied to fargo007's topic in Bugs and Problems
If it happens again, try returning to the airport, request repairs and when repairs complete, take-off again and try to shoot Vihkrs. If this works, the laser was burned out, if it doesn't work, there is a bug with laser guidance of Vihkrs. -

Does this work in 2.5? -
Just discussing some topics in the wing. We hope the MI-24 will be a version with night fighting capability, beside the Gazelle, there is no helicopter that can do night fighting in a meaningful sense within DCS.
-
The upside of all this is, that no matter which helicopter you choose to simulate, you'll have a crowd gathering nonetheless! So go forth and bring us something with one or two big rotors and one or none small rotor, be it transport, attack, civilian, big, small, slow or large, it'll sell regardless :)

Tblisi has one active runway, 31L or 13R so 31L is correct. Taxiway November was an old runway but is no longer active.
-
Usually, when you've started up your bird and both engines are running with the corrector set to max, the only way the generators drop out is when main rotor RPM drops below 85% or so. Usually, it means you're pulling too much collective, drop collective, cyclic forward to get some airspeed going so you get translational lift and dive out of that situation so that your main rotor RPM picks up again. Make sure to switch on your dampening channels after you've recovered. The other thing that can happen is icing, if you are not switching on the manual left (or right?) engine anti-ice you can still loose one generator, quickly followed by number 2 as you're falling into the "pull too much collective trap" again.
