  2. This discussion always remembers me on a story a F-11 driver told me last year.. they had some BFM with US F-15C. He is flying F-16A MLU from the Royal Netherlands Air Force. The had to move away until one of them can`t see the other jet. Then they had to call "fights on" and it startet.. the command always came from the Eagle, the Viperdriver was able so see him still very well and even ID him as F-15... but he was nearly not seen anymore. The F-16 is a very small plane.. makes it also very dangerous… There is not the best or perfect jet. Each plane has its points wehre it gets very well, and there are also things that do not perform that good. If you think of the first F-16, planned and designed as a lightwheigt day-only short range air defense jet and then you take the new F-16V Block 70... that developement was extreme. And not just US versions. Other countries also did a lot of work to make those planes better and better. But the perfect one… does not exist.
  3. All teh funny stuff available for F-16 will not be included in DCS: F-16 ;) There will come a new module in 2025 ^^ But interesting that a Link16 will be included…

    TWS

Maybe you can explain what TWS stands for in your opinon.. for me it is a radar mode for A/A engagement.
  5. But it is also a big problem when the map doe not work. You still have to do all the navigation work too. Does not matter if you have a moving map or not.
  6. I have seen a US F-16C Blk30 Model from a Texas ANG squadron that had a moving map on the MFD.. so this option exists. I just dont know if this software is available to the version we will get. But the function itself exists. Maybe just on one plane.. EDIT: Just took a closer look. It was a F-16D Block 30E. Serial Nr. 86-049. This aircraft had a coloured moving map on its HSD on the rear seat…
  7. Will get interesting. With a 2 seater (no planned for DCS) without any fuel tanks from US to somehwere in the middle east and back to Germany. All with 10 Sidewinder, thousands of rounds for the gun, 6 or 7 AGM-65, same ammount of Mk-82 and one HADES bomb on center line… :D Lets get the party started :)
  8. Nice setup you have... I am still thinking how to interface my throttle grip... actuality is a DX device, so no Tsuba support because no cougar hardware in it. I will have to do it the same way BMS does.. just with the throttle position without any buttons or virtual knobs and so on... No Cutuff/Button or anything like this.
  9. Does DCS not work with DX-Commands? If no, it will get tricky, but if yes, there is no need for any key command or something similar. That is all in the game code. All other ways would make me wonder… Just assign a button function to a DX button and the rest.. you also have buttons that need to be pressed below 0,5s and others that need a longer press. At switching to DCS I do not want to work with 20th century stuff like joystick profiles.

    IRIS-T

Not in US service and because of this it will not be available in DCS. And if I think how new this weapon is... there will be no useable declassified data for a simulation. Just for an FC3 weapon.
  11. The ageled part is only necessary if you make a real stick base. Because then your base is not horizontal. If you fly with a desktop or any kind of self made pit you will not need it.
  12. I know about the angle.. but I will correct this later directly to my personal position. ;) But that is far away.. first the pit has to be finished, then DCS has to be released and then all the interface stuff has to be done… ;) :D Also all the extraction of all the instruments, HUD and so on...
  13. Yeah, that was what I was talking about. FSSB is way too big to fit a stick base :( And since WhiteEagle has passed away there is actual no soloution on the market to fit this gap :(
  14. FSSB is a nice tool indeed. But it does not fit in a cockpit :( So FSSB is no option for me.. hopefully with DCS someone will make a force sensor that will fit...
  15. Hopefully they also think on the fact that with JHMCS you do not have NVG....

    Top Gun 2020

  17. Maybe this way? https://youtu.be/bHfWGL_W7xk?t=12 :D :D
  18. They have too much pilots… :D Look to Austria. They have 2,5 jets for 1 Typhoon pilot :D That is how it is done ;) If you have 141 jets and 875 pilots for those jets… that never can work.. there you have little more than 6 pilots for one jet, that makes 1.120 hours a year for each plane... that is too much if you want to keep a jet 20 years. They are not built to fly 22.400 hours… So if this data is right that the EF pilots do not get their hours, something within the HR went completly wrong...
  19. If DCS make a real and working flight model with all the wind effects and so on it will.. if not, you get a jet flying on rails through the sky… You can test it later.. all the flight limits and other stuff are available to the public… Make your test flight and decide then.
  21. Tested but never in service. They are just for the simmers to add the ultimate destruction and a lot of kills.. other wise the game would not be raelistic enough ;) You can not fly a CAS without 50 kills… or with ha fire/hit/kill ratio below 80%. :megalol::joystick:
  22. It is not just about stickers… you also should not park your F-16 overnight at foreign air bases without having a look at it. If you end at an F-15 base strange things may happen to you… :music_whistling: :megalol:
  23. Die nächste Aktion kommt bestimmt. Hier was zum Vollpreis zu kaufen is wie bei IKEA den 3fachen Preis freiwillig zu zahlen :D

    Buchempfehlungen

Auch wenn es englisch ist, aber die hier sind alle recht gut und auch einfach zu lesen. Und unterhaltsam :D - Viper Pilot - Eye of the Viper - Vipers in the Storm - Magnum! The Wild Weasels in Dessert Storm ;)
  25. There are also always RoE playing with it. If you drop them just because you think you need and you hit someone on the ground you will have to have a very good reason why you just killed 5 civilians on the ground just because you filled your shorts… ;) Next point is also that those parts are not available unlimited. RL is not a game where blue side always has as much stuff as they need. ;) Third point.. every time you drop something like a fuel tank there is a risk of damaging your aircraft. You won`t damage anything just because it is fun. Fouth point, I do not know about other jets, just knowing the F-16 a litte bit better. If you have an emergency landing without a landing gear, you can use the drop tanks as an additional glidepart for your jet without damaging your wingtips. This may give you the option not to eject. Don´t know how often it is used, but I know 1 case in the Netherlands where the pilot had those 2 options. If he would have dropped the tanks he would be forced to jump off the jet. With the tanks on board he was allowed to land without a landing gear and he could leave the aircraft safe. Fith point, I do not really know how actual those numbers are because they are from and report of the DoD from 2002. There was an 370gal drop tank for F-16C/D listed with a price of 110.000$ including all needed parts. Not just the shell, also pumps and so on...
