gear door reported Irrealistic air speed extended landing gear
rob10 replied to lorfar's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's not hard to rip the landing gear door off on the F-18 if you're careless with speed (which at a minimum means you can't drop A-G weapons). -
That may help in some cases, but isn't an absolute requirement. Mine are not set up that way and I have had no problems.

ED have already said they will not be doing Ukraine/Russian (not sure if they've mentioned Taiwan, but same reasoning would apply) BECAUSE there are active conflicts going on there.

Did some recent update broke elevator trim in P-51D?
rob10 replied to milo85's topic in General Bugs
Doesn't matter that you have no FFB devices, it will likely be turned on by default in DCS and could be causing you issues. That's come up a bunch lately and I think related to this issue. -
Easiest is just delete the entire folders and they will regenerate.

P-51D-25 - Joystick/Keyboard & Briefing/Load screen image... gone!
rob10 replied to Bowie's topic in General Bugs
The config files will automatically regenerate a version with default settings on running DCS if you delete them. Re-install won't touch them since they're in the Saved Games folder. That's why the 1st advice for anything controls related is to rename at least that part of the DCS Saved Games folder. -
Just be aware that Windows may decide to give the devices a new ID when you unplug and replug them which can mess with your bindings. You can rename the config files, but it may not be as easy as unplug/replug (which may work, especially if you shut down your computer when doing it, but no guarantees). If you're leaving both plugged in there is no issue. As an example, a squad mate realized they hadn't plugged there joystick in, and since they had VR up and on they just plugged it in "hot" and it changed ID's which messed with the bindings.

UNBOX the SEQ in the bottom right hand corner of your SA or HSI page. When boxed it will only allow you to cycle between WP's that are part of that sequence (which can't include markpoints).

The devs are using a completely different software to analyze this (my guess is looking at the behind the scenes stuff going on rather than primarily "watching" it, which is why they want a track rather than a video), so I'm sure they can do very different things to what users can.

P-51D-25 - Joystick/Keyboard & Briefing/Load screen image... gone!

Rename the controller folder for that in your SAVED GAMES folder (or just rename the DCS folder in saved games if you want to test if that fixes it). All the repairs and stuff you did so far will have no impact on your saved games folder files, so haven't touched the issue. -
The massive NVIDIA logo appearing on the screen is because part of the licensing agreement to get DLSS includes that they have to do that. ED said this back when DLSS was 1st introduced.

You're better to post this in the WinWing section of the hardware/input subforum here. IIRC there was someone else with similar symptoms. I don't remember if they figured it out or not. One thing you could try is going into SimAppPro\resources\app.asar.unpacked\Events\wwt\wwtExport.lua and changing the value at Line 19 -- winwing.interval=0.03 to 0.3. That reduces how often it is checking for inputs (although that should have no impact if it's just the screens causing issue. If you're connecting/disconnecting the frames at the same time it might).

Yes. You're definitely better to start a new thread because it will get overlooked when it's in a "correct as is" thread.

ATFLIR 1688 is the only code working on Afghanistan map
rob10 replied to Pribs86's topic in Bugs and Problems
And you can do it after you start the plane, but it does need to be changed on the ground with the ground crew REARM/REFUEL menu -
Those controls are not really related to SimAppPro. Windows sees them as buttons on a device, so they'll work properly even without SimAppPro installed, let alone running. You only need SimAppPro running for syncing lights and or running any UFC or ICP info. Somewhere your SimAppPro isn't communicating with DCS. Might be an antivirus or firewall blocking the communication.

Yes. The TM only send a signal when clicking one direction. In some cases there is an "2 pos switch" in the description usually with <> between the positions and under category "special for Joystick" which will do what you want. For a lot of bindings this option doesn't exist, and years ago you had to edit lua files to overcome this limitation. Now you just need to use the "ON' and "OFF" bindings for the switch. Use the actual ON click for the ON binding and for the OFF binding double click on that and use the dropdown in the KEY/BUTTON box and select the OFF version for the button (i.e. use button 10 for on, then "button 10 off" from the dropdown for the off binding). This is primarily a limitation of the TM hardware these days. Most others will send a signal in both the "ON" and "OFF" (and middle if they have that) states.

What plane? And are you leaving SimAppPro running in the background while you're flying (you need to for lights to sync)? And if you're using Tacview and SRS as well, make sure your export.lua is set up in this order: D:\Users\xxxx\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Export.lua TacView WinWing SRS

Are you sure? I understand that there is overlap of devs from SA map and Kola map, and SA has Razbam strictly as a publisher, but as I understood Kola, Orbx are actual developer on it. Not confident in my understanding so don't take it as for sure being correct, but that was what I thought.

That only works for the F-14. For F-18 you've always had to salute AFAIR.

Please Address Game Bloat from CoreMods & Excessive Liveries
rob10 replied to celestHawk's topic in DCS Core Wish List
"Just" 50 mbps. In some cases that's not available on the user end. And as BigNewy pointed out, that's multiplied by thousands on the ED end that has to serve up.- 69 replies

I don't believe it actually says FEET, but either way the measurements are all in METERS rather than feet. Yes it would be good if it included what unit it was using. That one caught me out when I was learning the mission editor. Basically everything in the background of DCS is in metric because it the countries where DCS was originally developed were metric AND it's a lot easier to work in metric than imperial units. Any imperial units in DCS are converted from metric in the background.

If you want full sim level then load the file before you get in the plane. You can set up all the things you want in the DTC and save it to a file. That simulates sticking the cartridge in where you need it. Explanation before my latest post is how to do that. Not sure how changing the original version of the DTC file to a default is any less of systematic solution or any more realistic. If you don't like what's in the default, before you hit the fly button there is an option to go in and change the file to what you want for that mission (that's what an IRL pilot would do). I'm really unclear what you are asking for that's different to the current situation?
-
Go to my post above and it will point you to the file you need to edit that loads as default DTC now. You still need to load it in the plane system (in the F-18 anyway), but you won't have to load the file each time.
