Likely not as easy to do with a laptop as a desktop, but just blowing the dust off everything may also help improve your cooling since dust is a surprisingly good insulator.

You'll have to play around and see if they're the right ones, but try "Cockpit Camera Move Back" and "Cockpit Camera Move Forward" bindings in the F-18.

I'm in the camp of whichever you learn first will make the other hard to learn (because they are so different that you have to reprogram your brain going from one to the other). As for the above point, in the F-18, slew your targeting pod over the target, TDC depress, drop bomb. I'd call that pretty simple . If you want to record the point simply press the MK button.

It might look like it's restarting from scratch because it starts over a ZERO downloaded and ZERO % but if you look at the total to download it should be smaller than the previous time you've ran it. Confusing if you don't know this because it definitely does look like it's starting over from scratch.

This may well be something you know already, but in case you don't, the runway number will be roughly the heading of the runway. That may not help at major airports that may have more then one runway in a similar direction, but since it's mostly smaller airports usually with only one runway that don't have numbers painted on them you can likely use heading to figure out where you need to go.

It's a reported bug.

To rule out the low hanging fruit: if you're using a mouse with a high polling rate (i.e. 1,000) turn it down to 500.

If you install DCS from clean then it will set up the MT shortcuts by default. If you use the new launcher it should take you to MT. If you use the updater exe it should take you to MT. If you have an existing install and you're not running the updater on startup (i.e. you're going directly into DCS) you'll need to make sure your shortcuts are set to MT rather than ST. If in doubt just check that it says Multi-Thread preview on the main screen before the version number.

No native way to do it. You'll have to use some sort of scripting (i.e. AutoHotKey) to press the appropriate sequences of buttons to set them up as as marked tabs

If I'm reading that correctly, you have 8GB physical RAM? Even with a 32 GB pagefile that's likely your problem point. The last update seems to require more memory. Technically 16 GB is mininum (according to ED requirements) but IMO I think it's getting to needing 32 GB minimum. EDIT: agree with the next poster that 64 GB RAM is definitely preferable.

You'll probably have to roll back to the version you used to create the trackfile to be able to see it properly.

Glad to hear that you got it working again. In answer to your question, all turning Power Saving off does is means that the computer won't turn off power to the USB if it thinks nothing is using it (i.e. drawing power). Power saving can cause problems because sometimes the computer does a poor job of knowing when something is using it or not and turns if off even when it's in use.

Set your GUI scaling to 1 in the settings and it will fix your issue.

It's not just a matter of FINDING documentation, it's a matter of finding documentation that they can LEGALLY use. And there's lots of little details that mean they can or can't use it.

My 1st thought would be your anti-virus is messing with things. They have been known to prevent files from being deleted.

And that likely has no supercarrier in the mission. That's why it was fine.

What you want to post is a TRACK FILE (rather than a video) which you can save from the debriefing window after you end the mission. If you've put the TDC over the truck, then you should only need to TDC depress to set it as target. You really only need to SCS right more than once if you can't slew it (I can't remember exactly how that works in Litening in case you're using that, I usually use ATFLIR). From your description my guess is that you haven't changed the laser code ON THE BOMB in the REARM menu. Changing it in the SMS menu no longer changes it on the bomb. You need to click the triangle in the upper left corner of the bomb in the REARM menu before you fly (or in change it in the mission editor) and change the laser code on the bomb itself otherwise it will be set to 1688. Try lasing on 1688 and see if that works.

From the 1st post: I think all the OP is asking for is to not have to CALL the tanker to get them to put out the basket or get cleared pre-contact. Just to be able to fly up the tanker that already has basket out and be able to normally catch the basket and fuel (which currently requires at least 2 radio calls). I don't think he's asking for any difference in the actual mechanics of refuelling other than COMMS. I have no idea if this would be done IRL so I can't comment on that. From the 2nd post: I would interpret that completely differently to what's asked for in the 1st (appears 2nd is asking for "auto" refuel and that poor horse has been beaten thoroughly) so the OP maybe should clarify what they are actually after (or maybe both things)

Please post a track of this happening. You can save a track from the debrief screen after you end the mission (preferably keep it as short as possible). Are you running single threaded DCS or multi-threaded? And which pod in the F-18 ATFLIR or LITENING?

I think that's one of those errors that may resolve itself if you try again (maybe even a couple of more times). Otherwise check this (older) thread for some ideas:

Unfortunately this likely isn't going to help in this case, but thought I mention that doing a complete shutdown usually (unless you have it set not to) actually just hibernates your computer for faster startup. While that was the correct way to do it in the "olden days" (yikes, I'm dating myself now ), these days you want to do a RESTART from the power menu rather than a power off if you want to reset everything in Windows.

Somewhere I think I remember having seen the first issue. I'm assuming you're using Vaicom or some like that? Check the subforum for it and you might get a solution. Might have been having an old version still installed even if you weren't using it? I don't use voice commands so I can't remember and I could be way off on the possible issue.

The logic is somewhat "interesting". This post has some detailed testing.
