  1. 64 GB is never a bad thing, but as long as you have a total of 64 between your physical RAM and PAGEFILE you should be good. I would check what your pagefile is set to and make sure it's set to at least 32 GB rather than Windows managed. Also check that you aren't getting tight on space on the drive your pagefile is on.
  2. I haven't touched it in a long time since I set my rudder pedals up, but IIRC they had some good videos on their website that described it step by step.
  3. You might want to have a read through this post/thread. ED disagrees with your interpretation so unless you can provide concrete proof that it's wrong don't expect any changes.
  4. It's good to have this one come up every once and a while. Like MAXsenna said, it didn't get lot of attention at the time and is easily overlooked but very powerful functionality.
  5. If you have a shortcut to the .exe on your desktop you shouldn't ever need to change it (unless you move your DCS). Only caveat with this is if you're pointed to the one in the MT bin folder, at some point you may need to change it to point at the straight DCS bin folder when ED removes the MT bin folder.
  6. Spamming this into every unrelated thread going isn't going to get it fixed any faster, so please stop clogging the forums with it. You won't like this, but the fact that you had so few replies or interactions with your original thread on this topic should indicate to you how many people are concerned about it. I understand it's a game breaking issue for you, but there are lots of other issues that are game breaking for others and priority is going to go to issues directly affecting a larger group of people. Should it get fixed? Yes. Will it? I hope so. But it's not going to near the top of the pile of issues to be fixed.
  7. I haven't had a chance to try your track and see about the crash, but what you're describing here is working as intended (unfortunately) (except the crash part). You have to change role out of your aircraft and into the air boss slot if you actually want to do anything more than spectate from the air boss position
  8. This reply from above is all you need to know. It really is as simple as just moving it.
  9. That's a good indicator you don't have enough free space on your drive for the update to unpack before installing. Likely need 200+ GB free for install. Won't take that much more after it's finished installing, but you temporarily have a bunch of duplicate files during the install. In past this was also a good indicator that your anti-virus is blocking things being moved/changed.
  10. Ahh, that works on standalone. No idea how to do that on Steam (or if it's even possible).
  11. There hasn't been a limited "number of activation's" for modules for a number of years now. You need to log on and authorize, but that's it.
  12. You realize that it gives you the option to NOT update right? I assume you're concerned with having to log on to reauthorize after 3 days, but all you need to do is use a shortcut direct to the dcs.exe (rather than the updater_dcs.exe or something like that) and it will do the authorization and not attempt to update at all.
  13. You also need to ALIGN your JHMCS if you haven't done that. Wont be a massive error, but it won't be right on if you don't.
  14. Interesting. I don't land on land very often but occasionally I have had it where NWS didn't immediately activate and that's likely why. Not deliberately flaring, but maybe getting the same effect inadvertently. Thanks!
  15. I assume you mean the new launcher? You should be able to turn it back on in one of the options screens - MISC tab "Launcher on start" checkbox. You don't need the launcher if your shortcut points to DCS_updater.exe (it will run the updater). The HUGE update was likely due to massive changes in Kola and Syria maps rather than not having updated recently. Updates are generally cumulative so if you miss one it won't have much impact on the size of the one after (except in a case like the last one that was huge due to maps).
  16. Just as a data point, I'm using a Delan clip with TIR camera and I'm not seeing issues. Not sure what camera you're using but I have seen reports that the newest TIR software is causing some people issues.
  17. From your log I see a bunch of Curl errors. Check this thread out. It's also not completely clear from your post what your problem is: you can't install DCS or you're having issues with moving your saved games stuff and controls or both?
  18. There are currently /bin and /mt-bin folders, but they are duplicated for now so peoples shortcuts don't get broken when /mt-bin gets removed. Sounds like that will happen in the next update or two. So there really is no ST to remove. In theory you could likely remove /mt-bin, but it's not that big so I'm not sure it would be worth it in case it might mess with something.
  19. You'll likely need to do a repair WHILE it's stopped and/or excluded from your antivirus. It may have quarantined files and it won't release them just by stopping it.
  20. Honestly, Kapersky is usually in the #1 or #2 spot for regularly causing issues with DCS (and pretty much every other game). I'd still say it's likely your problem.
  21. This shouldn't help, but there has been a couple of people it seemed to have, but change your shortcut to point to D:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe (remove the "-mt" after the "bin") and see if that helps. In theory it should be launching the same thing, but at least one other report this fixed it for them and one other error with someone using the "bin-mt" folder in the shortcut
  22. When you're getting that many "can't move" errors you probably want to start by looking at your Anti-virus.
  23. Pretty sure that's a typo and RADIO should be RADAR based on the F-16 log
  24. Totally agree that it will be great for logistics (that's where I'd be at), but I'm betting more will use it for combat. But more likely they have people working on the logisitcs side BUT it's different people than the ones working on the ai gunners/pilot models (who obviously are done their thing) so not having done that would likely not have gotten better logistics any time sooner.
