  1. So generally, might as well tick it because can untick it once installed? This is a confusing option. Had to abort my installation to look for help, as far as I could see there was no instruction s about this in the installation notes.
  2. Take a paper and pencil with you, its hard to get the coordinates right when inputting them into the CDU. If you write down the coords and make a little drawing for the other stuff you can see what the 9 line needs you to understand. I read some of the JTAC books; It turns out in RL its very important that the missile or bomb explodes in a certain direction. Away from the friendlies obviously, so you need to pay attention to the attack heading. As a reminder for that I usually put the attack heading into the HSI. Then you have your target waypoint, the direction you want to come in from, and what weapon you are supposed to use. Thats the main stuff. He probably will go on about zeuses and SAMs etc, yes you understand someone is probably going to stop you doing what you want to do, but thats why your a combat pilot not a airline pilot right!
  3. Perfect! I get caught out because the mission breifing usually has all the relevent freqs; JTACs etc. Tower is in the CDU so no probs there either. But then the Tanker freq is hardly ever listed.
  4. Ah so I should check the mission editor! I wouldnt have thought of that...Thanks for the tip!
  5. Come on now, dont make me do a search........Im not going to have to do a search am I? Surely some bright spark knows the tanky freq? pretty please??
  6. YEah they done a nice job of the ground handling. Differential braking required.
  7. Hi All, Is the tanker always on the same frequency or something?? It never seems to be listed in the breifing. What freq is it on? (I am trying to fly Operation Turkish Delight, no tanker freq listed and tanking required) Rapid help appreciated - I have a TOT in 30 mins!
  8. When I was learning to fly I used to fly into Duxford and spend the whole day walking around whilst my instructor did air experience flights in a Dragon Rapide or Tiger Moth. Despite going several times in a week, I never got bored there. its a brilliant place. Another time years later my GF was asleep as we drove down the motorway, and she woke up as we pulled into the carpark (we were actually heading for France) Even she liked it. There is often a Spitfire or two flying there. Brilliant brilliant place!
  9. I have actually managed to bring down a few, but set to Average and with labels on. You can usually put a few bullets in them at the head to head phase and that seems to lower their performance enough that you can get in behind them and get the odd shot. They are damn tough. once or twice I had one in flames, mostly they will just put their lights on and head for an airbase. Thats not what happened today though.... everone collides 1min.trk
  10. right Im off to nail that AI. dagadagadagadagadagadaga. Tallyho.
  11. Seems to be PgUp and PgDn on my keyboard, not sure if i set it to that. Anyway thats fine. couple of short taps easily reduced the RPMs to whatever you want. Bobs your uncle.
  12. Is it Dynamic weather? A while back the dynamic weather was totally overdoing the turbulence effects. Havent tried it for a long time though. I fancy a challenge. off to try Vipers Track. I bet the crosswind limit is 15knots though..thats fairly normal. Doesnt mean it cant be done in more though...
  13. Thanks Timmy I will try it, but doesn't seem right to me; I dont know what the flap limiting speed is but Im sure Im trying to turn way above that, and I doubt the extra drag from the flap is going to help me to suddenly catch up with the AI.
  14. I think that's a terrible name for a beautiful aircraft, except maybe a B747. Who could feel numb flying that? (I like Pink Floyd though)
  15. Hi, Early days I was going online to get my kicks in the stang. Everyone is new so its pretty easy to be a steely eyed killing machine. Now I cant get on online so have had to mix it with the AI. Oh dear! Are they modeled correctly? or do I just need to up my game a bit? He certainly seems to make no mistakes (actually he has dived into the sea a couple of times, and also a few stall/spin, but maybe the latter was intentional) Alternatively is my 'stang modeled correctly? I realise its beta! it bucks, stalls and spins at the first sign of a turn at 20k. Meanwhile the AI is pulling into chandeles as if he is a Mig29 in disguise. Whats the deal? Yeah I should probably search...
  16. Without watching the track, my 2p: Wheels up? Flaps up? Flying level? taps fully open? Rudder trim? Untied the tiedowns?
  17. Just a vote to keep things the same. I like it! The reflections are really awesome, if your eyes are locked onto your target and you are doing some rolling scissors any clue you can get to your planes attitude is usefull. Also most planes are filthy. So keep the dirt too.
  18. Couple of days ago. Its great! Well done ED. Thanks! P.S. Not finding it wierd fllying around Georgia at all. It has the feel of Korea or something.
  19. It is known as a "secondary effect" of the control. This sort of thing is common with aeroplane controls. All part of the fun. And useful too; You could fly a whole approach and successful landing without ailerons by using your rudders.
  20. I was going to post this request just now! I have been beaten to it. So another voice to say PLEEEASSE dont password your server unless you need to. Obviously, its your toy box so do what you want, but bare in mind that only a small percentage of the population will behave "bad". And you might meet some other good pilots as well. Like the Batumi Air Racing server that has been on occasionally. I would love to go on that! But passworded. Cant you just put in the set up that noone carrys bullets / bombs? That should get rid of the kids that just want to straff the apron. Or cold starts only... If anyone is misbehaving or just bringing the quality down then they should get kicked. (Or asked to leave politely)
  21. What a great vid! And the pilot is a hooligan! I would also like to point out that the runway approach lights are conventional in that video, contrary to DCS and something that really annoys me in DCS.
  22. What's the first HUD one?
  23. ErichVon How did you get to 200kph? Just do that again in reverse order. But I also like the haul it round plan. Remember it's not an Aeroplane, you can't exactly stall, just whip it around,,and prey that the blades don't chop each other. But if they do you have a special get out clause.
  24. Got to be impressed by the guys self confidence And by some criteria that was a good landing
  25. And what Viper said....
