  1. I think I fundamentally don’t understand the issue. Why is it so difficult to have each throttle on a different axis entirely and thereby do away with any locking switch?
  2. I've just pre-ordered the V3, I'm heavily considering cancelling my order now; it really shouldn't be an issue for a throttle that costs this much with separate engine controls to do just that (ie control each engine individually without issue)
  3. I'm trying to create a button modifier to register additional button inputs but I can't find the modifiers.lua file in any of directories under Save Games? Was it removed recently?
  4. Hi All, I recently moved my gaming PC from the office down to my living room as I wanted to see what using a large screen (55") would feel like when compared to my 34" curved LG and to also see if I could use the living room setup for a few casual hops; thinking something along the lines of Over G Fighters for those that are old enough to remember that game ;) Needless to say, it was a pretty awesome experience. However, using a keyboard and mouse to control flight inputs (F-18) really isn't the greatest of experiences (my setup doesn't allow my to also bring down my TM WH HOTAS from the office) so I plugged in an Xbox One controller I had lying around simply to see what would happen. For the most part, I'm able to map pitch, roll and rudder input as well as a few essential buttons. I can even control the cockpit view using the right analog stick but for the life of me, I cannot seem to control the external view. I've tried hacking most of the .lau input files but nothing seems to work, for whatever reason the options to bind the controls to anything other than a mouse input is disabled in the Axis Control menu option. Is there a way I can use the right stick on the Xbox controller to control external panning much like the mouse seems to do? Thanks!
  5. Where are you ordering from? I’m also after one
  6. For those with the Reverb, what’s your view on the ‘3D-ness’ of the headset? Did I read somewhere that the Reverb isn’t quite as strong at creating a 3D view for some reason? Ie things appear quite flat?
  7. Wow, that’s crazy clear. How’s the performance, I take it motion reprojection is being used?
  8. Hi All, For context, I had the Rift CV1 for about a year and loved it. With PD at 1.8, I was able to get constant 45fps with my settings and hardware (in signature). Like a lot of people, I 'upgraded' to the Rift S and have been playing around with it for the past coupe of weeks but have slowly come to the conclusion that I'm not an entirely happy bunny. My biggest problem is that ASW is locking frames to 40FPS with ASW turned on. This is not necessarily an issue but given I'm loosing 5fps (flying in pancake this isn't a problem but in VR it is), general flight just doesn't feel as smooth as it was before. I've tried playing around with the rctrl + 1-4numpad options to disable/enable ASW but my rig simply isn't powerful enough to constantly fly with ASW off; I tried it a couple of times and its horrible, despite the fact that the HUD ghosting disappears etc. I my question boils down to this; is it possible to change the 'default' ASW value (ie in the registry or somesuch) to lock frames at 45fps rather than 40 or is this locked aa the Rift S's panels are 80Hz vs. the Rift's 90Hz Cheers
  9. Damn, the up, down etc options were exactly what I was hoping for. I agree, the radial menu for Jester is great but needs a bit of polishing
  10. Hi All, As the title states, I’d like to use the four way hat switch on my TM Warthog to control the comms menu as I fly mainly in VR and having to look through the nose gap on my Rift S to find either the mouse and/or the keyboard to make comm calls to my wingmen or tower is getting pretty annoying. I’ve managed to bind the ability to hide or show the comms menu to a button on the Warthog throttle but as far as I can make out, there are no options to navigate the actual comms menu (ie up and down the list as well as select an option). Anyone know if what I’m asking is possible? Cheets
  11. Hi All, I'm just wondering if its possible to use axis inputs with the AV8B to control cockpit lights etc? I can't find any control inputs in under 'Axis Input' in the menu other than for control surfaces. Are they planning on being inplemented by the devs? Thanks!
  12. Hi All, Long story short, I've built a home cockpit with about 24 potentiometers (plugged into three Leo Bodnar board) spread across the 'cabin' but as far as I can work out, only the F18 has assignable axis commands in the controls menu (to control cockpit lightening etc). I've looks under the 'axis commands' section for the A-10C, F-14 and AV8B but all I can see are the usual assignees (aircraft pitch, roll etc); there seems to be no assignable controls for cockpit lights, MFD brightness etc Am I missing something or do you have to hack .lua input control files to get pots to work in these cockpits? Cheers
  13. Hi All, I'm struggling with the A-10 and my WARBrd base (TM stick). Whenever I load up a flight in the A-10, my stick input is reduced to pretty much nothing. If anything, the stick input seems to be acting as trim input. I've checked the controller assignments and everything looks ok, is anyone else having these issues? Cheers
  14. So in case anyone comes across the same issue I have, somehow (when fumbling around for the keyboard with my Rift on) I managed to change the default VR seating position for the Hornet. This was confirmed by taking a quick flight in the A-10 and the Huey. To fix the issue, I simply deleted the SnapViews.lua from C:\Users\*user*\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View. That'll teach me for thinking my muscle memory in up to scratch...
  15. Hi All, I sat down earlier today to have a quick flight in the F18 using my shiny new Rift S after playing for a few hours yesterday and loving it. Whatever the mass consensus may be, I think its definitely an upgrade over the CV1 I fired up one of my saved missions (hot on the ramp; Nevada) and about 20 seconds after takeoff, I thought I'd recenter my view by pressing the numpad 5 button as I was sitting a little high. However, after doing so, my view became offset to the left by a good inch or so (in real world head movement). I continued to hit the numpad 5 button but it kept 'centring' me offset to the left. I've restarted my PC, repaired the DCS install using dcs_updater.exe and even tried some other USB ports; nothing works. Interestingly enough, DCS World Beta is fine. The view is perfectly centred which makes me believe its a problem with my install and not the Rift S nor my PC. Any ideas?
  16. How are people painting the lower UFC cover panel? I've just printed off the panel that has deeper text and I'd like to paint the text/circle white so they stand out more. I'm thinking some diluted white water-based paint and using a super thin modelling brush to apply it. Any ideas?
  17. Completely agree with everything here. However, I think its not all roses. Are you finding the FOV to be smaller? Maybe I don't directly mean FOV but it certainly feels like I'm staring through a set of scuba googles more so than it ever did (certainly notice it when in the main menu)
  18. Thought I'd report back here with the fix in case anyone else comes across it Turns out there was some kind of factory grease/gunk on the back of the PCB that was causing signal overlap between the pins. After cleaning with a few cotton buds, everything is working correctly. Big thanks to Leo from the store (ie replying to emails at 10pm GMT on a Sunday night) for helping be get through this one, was driving me crazy.
  19. Ok, I think I've traced the problem down to a fault toggle; I removed it and the switches seem to be working properly. However, that's fixed only one of the issues. I've noticed that I'm getting weird behaviour on an axis input. I have 5 axis' plugged into the board (all bought from Leo's store) but for some reason, the Device Properties in Windows is showing a 6th. I've also noticed that when I move an axis (Y Rotation), it moves the 'phantom' axis but only about a 10th in the axis's total range when moving the associated Y axis from 0% to 100% I'm thinking I also have a faulty pot?
  20. Hi All, I recently bought a Leo Bodnar BU0836X board to create a button box for my VR simpit. After following his instructions and working up 5 rotary pots, 2 rotary switches, 3 on-on toggles and 3 on-off-off toggles, I’ve run into a bit of a problem. When trying to assign the buttons to actions in game (F-18), I get weird behaviour with the buttons. For example, if I move a on-off-on switch to the off (middle) position, it registers as in input that’s been assigned to another switch. When looking at the device properties in Windows via the game controller settings, a single axis is moving two inputs. Am I experiencing some kind of wire interference? All the wires are in a very tight space and it looks rather like spaghetti junction (box is 220mm x 150mm x 80mm). I’m using single core wire if that helps. Thanks! Below in an image of what I’ve put together
  21. I'm thinking about putting a new 9900k build together myself and am also having a had time selecting the right memory (16gb vs 32gb). I'd selected a 16gb Corsair set at 4133MHz but after seeing your post, it makes me feel I should save ~£100 and go with some 3800MHz instead. Do you think its a wrong choice to go for RAM with a speed of 4133MHz?
  22. So I came across this video on Hoggit of an F14 launching of the end of a carrier. I’m less concerned about the squirrelling of the Cat and more concerned about the flight physics coming off the deck. It just doesn’t look right to my uneducated brain. I thought DCS/the F-14’s flight model was supposed to be realistic? I’m neither trained nor educated in a specific scientific field or aeronautics and also please don’t reply with ‘you’ve never flown an F14 so you don’t know what it can or can’t do’ type comments; I don’t think they’re helpful to anyone Thoughts?
  23. I’ve bought a couple to test/play around it and so far I love the feel of them compared to the cheap ones I’ve currently been using. How do you actually wire them up though? They’ve got 5 pins of the back rather than the ‘normal’ two?
