  1. Just to be clear... In case the Harrier is really considered by ED and/or Razbm to be finished, or feautre complete, or in any way close to its description of being highly realistic and accurate, let me just take the official description and mark what is really included in the product we paid for, according to the many unresolved bug reports so far: Check the community bug tracker for open/unresolved/unacknowledged bugs
  2. Would be great if you were able to have 2-3 different samples of those specific sound effects that play randomly, to add variety (e.g. short, long etc)

    F-15E?

I honestly can't understand all the hype given the near-VEAO state of their Harrier... If anything this will be yet another forum section filled with bug reports falling on deaf ears :(
  4. +1000
  5. Again...the myth about "g-warmup"... DCS is very unrealistic here, and there's no such thing as a g-warmup as it happens in DCS. The so called g-warmup doesn't increase g-tolerance. It's performed to check the g-suit is connected and working properly AND to check your general status and tolerance for the day. If you slept well and are in great shape, you can pull and sustain a lot of g immediately, it's not like if you did the warm-up you'd sustain more g. Conversley on a shitty day, your g-tolerance will be lower and no warm-up can make it better. To conclude, the warm-up is done to get a feeling for how many g you can safely pull but it doesn't magically boost your tolerance.
  6. Will this ever be fixed? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=246587 Over one year since reported.
  7. Tell me (and be honest please): are you one of them? Did you fly in a prop-driven aircraft, sitting behind the prop, and did you see it with your own eyes, as you do in DCS? If yes, you are part of a minority. Do you think a sim meant for the general public should visually represent propellers in a way that is realistic for most people, or for a minority? Here's a fun fact: they color the tips of the blades so people can see the prop, ergo, unless they did so, the prop would be nearly invisible (as it is).
  8. May I kindly suggest to all those in this thread that have never seen a prop from the cockpit to go out to your local flying club, spend 60 bucks and take a short flight with an instructor? Not only will you notice that the prop disc is indeed almost completely invisible (unless sun is shining from behind), but you'll also have a very nice experience and who knows...maybe you'll decide to get a license :) P.S. it would be nice to have an option in the settings to have a "cinematic" or "naked eye" prop option.
  9. Not sure I get this right, but from your chart (blue line vs green line) I read the following: RL F-16 hits 9g in about 6.8 s DCS F-16 hits 9g in about 7.8s 1 second difference = 13% difference RL F-16 hits 9.3g in 7.8 seconds DCS F-16 hits 9.3 g in 9.6 seconds 1.8 seconds difference = 19% difference
  10. Depends on your and mine definition of totally broken I guess. Let's just say that it flies, and it does so based on the wrong set of data which in turn make the FM more and more inaccurate proportionally to the wind speed. Oh, don't forget the engine simulation part, that's pretty bugged as well with RPM and thrust changing based on, again, wind, as well as the strange Idle-mil RPM and fuel flow bug.
  11. So this seems to be just a sound effect, while the actual RPM still drops too slowly. Exactly what I warned about in other threads, when I was told not to worry, they will also rework the RPM behavior... sure. Nice "cosmetic" addition anyway, adds to the immersion.
  12. You are delusional. The flight model is TOTALLY BROKEN if you still didn't get that. You can't even call it a simulator because it's based off the WRONG data. That's how broken it is. The airplane is using ground speed as reference, this is not even a bug, it's a fundamental error in the simulation that renders anything in its FM worthless, and I mean that literally. Have some wind in the mission and you get more or less thrust/lift/drag depending on which direction you point your nose, I mean you can defend anything you want but downplaying something like this means you either have a deep lack of understanding, or you are deliberately trying to sabotage those who reported these bugs and rightfully expect them to be fixed. Sure you can enjoy it if you want, but don't say it just needs small fixes because that's simply not true.
  13. Yep, that's exactly why ED has no reason to fix or finish anything. Thank you for your service
  14. Fixing the bugs, sad, sad lol.
  15. Using pictures is extremely misleading because of shutter speed / aperture etc. That RL picutre is just dark. The clouds below are much whiter IRL so the camera has to darken the overall picture. That's not how the sky looks like at 45k feet. Unfortunately unless you see things with your own eyes, you'd at least need a decent HDR picture that hasn't been tinkered with to make it look more dramatic. Hard to find I'd say. If you have't seen the sky at 45k feet during daytime, let me tell you, there is a very good reason why pilots wear sunglasses ;) The question is always the same: do we want a sim that looks like real life, or one that looks like a youtube video? Same with the propeller disc being visible from the cockpit, IRL the props are completely invisible to the pilot, but yet every single flight sim has that nice prop effect that only cameras can caputre...
  16. I've been experiencing this a lot since the last 2-3 patches, when it seems that the netcode was reverted back to Flanker 2 or something. Airplanes jump from one position to another, like a 1FPS gif, making it impossible to shoot or fly formation. As well, I get random "ping timeouts". My ping is not the lowest but at 20-30 is ok. I notice that players that have 200 are just warping around a lot and there is abosuletly 0 interpolation. What gives?
  17. I just re-tested. NOT SOLVED AT ALL is the conclusion. The behavior is exactly the same as originally described with same conditions.
  18. HMCS radar lock circle doesn't lock How it used to be: - Select ACM mode (e.g. guns) - Castle switch up - radar lock circle appears on helmet visor - Put target in the circle and the radar locks automatically, every time. Now: - Select ACM mode (e.g. guns) - Castle switch up - radar lock circle appears on helmet visor - Put target in the circle and the radar locks automatically the first time. When lock is lost / cancelled with pinky, it requires castle up again to re-lock even though the mode didn't change
  19. Awesome, thanks for joining the discussion and, with your experience, hopefully ED will be listening. They sure have a history of being extremely reluctant to admit mistakes, maybe this time it'll be different. Personally I'm looking forward to your contributions here and a little envious of your awesome RL job
  20. I added soem bugs and set soem bugs to solved according to latest patch notes. See OP for updates. Fun fact: one of the bugs I had reported has been solved, after 626 days. Yay!
  21. Added
  22. It's already in, at line 103
  23. Lol, 20 seconds, I'll take a glass of what you're having :drunk: Joking aside, I black out in a few seconds with g-warmup, and not just in the Viper but in any aircraft in DCS. It's a sim-wide problem. Maybe you have your settings to not fully "realistic". Also, speed has no effect on g-tolerance. If you're pulling 7g at 700kts or 7g at 350kts, there is no difference. It's 7g. period. You probably misunderstood the meaning of "the faster you're going the more the G-force affects the pilot": of course, the fatser you're going, the more g you have available and th elonger you can pull those g if you choose to. One more thing, g warm-up doesn't really increase your g-tolerance. The reason why pilots do a g-warmup is mainly to check the g-suit is working, and get a feeling of your response to g for the day (not every day is the same), which is a good idea before you slam it at 9g. However, the so called g warm-up does nothing to increase your g-tolerance, and the way it's portrayed in DCS is, IMO, wrong.
  24. So this has been moved to the "resolved bugs section". Can anyone confirm it's actually fixed? If so I'll mark it as fixed in the community bug tracker. Thanks
  25. I fear exactly the same. Realyl wasn'y expecting the KEAS/KCAS thing, that's going pretty unnoticed but it's huge, it potencially affects every single FM including missiles. Considering the speed at which small bugs are fixed, this could take years and years to fix the bug itself and all cascading consequences of it.
