  1. I was just playing a mission on TTI server, I noticed the Carriers and also all other ships don't react to sea conditions anymore (there were heavy wind and swells). Is it a bug or they removed it 'cause of the deck sliding problem?
  2. Facts: - The HUD in the A-10 is remarkably less visible than in ANY other DCS module. - The A10C Hud uses the same principle as the F-18, F-15, su-27, Mirage 2000, F-16 etc. hud. It's a reflector. If they use a terribly dim "light bulb" in the real airplane I don't know. Logic suggests the real plane has a hud that's visible enough to be usable in most conditions, which is not the case in DCS.
  3. The 3D model has no changes except the removal of the pave penny and addition of an antenna. The pilot's helmet has changed. Some textures now have bump-mapping (nosejob and rivets on the tails).
  4. The hydraulic pressure with windmilling engines is a well-known bug reported and acknowledged multiple times since 2010. Here's the last one.. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=287686
  5. Germany retired the F-104 in 1987, Italy in 2004. 17 years and 3 indigenous versions later. 1 million flight hours in total. Canada had the biggest accident rate of nearly 50%, followed by Belgium (>40%).
  6. AV-8B NA. Attached the full picture.
  7. Sorry to bring this up again, but new version and FM fixes had me hopeful that we would finally be able to fly by the numbers also when it comes engine parameters. ITT values are still too low according to RL procedures and manuals. At full throttle the engines barely reach 800 degress ITT, while IRL the green arc on the gauge is up to 865 degrees (and for limited periods the temperature can be as high as 900). Also, according to the TEMS fault monitoring system: ITT of 890 is considered not critical for the safety of flight (though out of the norm). ITT of 945 or more is considered critical. Radar trail departure procedures call for a power reduction after take -off to a setting of 800 degrees during the climb (for the lead), this is not full throttle. So IRL 800 degrees is less than full thottle. A climb setting that allows wingman and element to catch up and maintain correct spacing. In DCS 800 degress (actually a bit less) = full thottle. It had been discussed years ago as the A-10C 1 had the exact same issue. There are manuals, crew chiefs and pilots confirming this is not correct, even though most of their posts were removed, sometimes due to bans, sometimes due to 1.16. However, I hope ED doesn't keep hiding their head in the sand here, and update this as they have done with the critical AoA.
  8. Same as with the A-10C (1), there has been no improvement to this long-standing bug, which makes manual reversion mode completely unnecessary. Positive control can be maintained as low as stall speed and even beyond, just by the engines windmilling at <8% RPM. This is not realistic at all, as reported and documented multiple times. Most of all, it makes handling emergencies in the A-10 something that is far removed from reality. reported here also (among other places): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=223970
  9. Just had a CTD too. I sent the crash report through the dialog that comes up. I had just shot an APKWS and was lasing the target when it CTD'd
  10. :huh:Wait, I thought they fixed this for the new version? There have been many discussions about this problem and one of the points for the A10 II was that the finally put the head in the right position and made the hud visible
  11. Fairly priced. I applaude ED for this!
  12. Those of us with a custom Warthog profile can't use the 3-way flap switch because now there are onyl flaps up and flaps down assignments. Nothing for a middle position of the switch. Can you add it please?
  13. According to the real A-10C manual (T.O.1A10C-1), fuel override provides up to 15% additional thrust.
  14. Several inaccuracies. The most evident is the positioning of the small air scoops (air conditioner intakes) as well as the shape and size of the back part of the sliding canopy (bypass air exhaust). See picutre
  15. Thanks Elmo.
  16. EAS vs CAS bug The bug was reported here (which isn't just an F-16 bug but affects all modules) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=276363 I see it has been marked as [NO BUG] even though it was acknowledged officially. I just checked in game and it is [sTILL A BUG].
  17. Having no wake turbulence is equally unrealistic as having too much of it.
  18. To me it's alwasy funny when it seems that customers have to provide evidence, when in fact it is who sells a product that should provide evidence of its quality/realism/authenticity. The community raised a concern, it would be good to say "according to our SME, the wake turbulence is realistic". As it is, it looks like ED has no evidence either, yet is asking the community for evidence. There are RL pilot accounts here, plus common logic that points to the fact it is over modelled (e.g. thunderbirds formations). It's fair to say the concern is legit and should be looked at, but I think this will take the route of the A-10C flight model discussion that lasted 10 years or so...all along having ED in full denial, and finally resulting in a change when justified by a new influx of cash.
  19. This, considering all the shenanigans of EA, product sustainement etc. would be a real added value and make it a definite buy. I hope you guys stay out of the vicious cycle and deliver finished products. It would be a breath of fresh air around here.
  20. You know, some things are based on the norm, what is usual or average. The virtual pilot in the Su-27 is white? Well, guess what, probably there aren't nearly as many black pilots in the Russian air force, as there are white pilots. Probably the same goes for the USAF/USN, though I'd expect there to be more black and asian pilots than in Russia. I would however expect the Saudi pilots to look more tanned. In the same way, most F-16s are grey, they don't have a tigermeet livery. In fact, some private modder made a tiger livery, and not ED. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be fantastic if ED included all possible ages, body types, genders, hair styles, skin tones, sunglasses, names under the canopy, colors of airplanes etc. to suit absolutely every single person in the world. However I'd prefer if they spent that time working on FMs, weapons etc. You can make your own skin exactly as you like, or you can take it for what it is: a small texture that becomes invisible as soon as your mask is on and the visor is lowered.

    F-104?

So guys, let's address the elephant in the room ;) You are a talented dev team made up of (mostly, or only) italians. Italy has been the country that operated the F-104 with the most success and for the longest time, and even developed 2 new variants (F-104S, F-104 ASA and ASA/M). 2+2.... :joystick:
  22. make it a CD to have even more fun
